Let me know if you have any specific part you want me to list, and I'll endeavor to list it ASAP. The pieces for this sale are the Left Feeder Shaft Bracket Assembly. Most of the parts are four#H-43495 mounting bolts. 22076, 21632, 22856, 22857, 22858, DP-114, DP-118, DP-123, DP-105, and possibly other parts. The press was completely refurbished around 1980 and was used pretty much continuously for the next 15 years, when I got the KSBA. The vertical was then used only sporadically until about 2003. After 2003, it was used virtually never, maybe 2- 5 jobs a year. There is some grease. Oil, and dried ink on the assembly, but I cleaned it enough for you to see what good condition it is in. All the parts have no breaks or cracks. Any rust or scratches usually don't go below the paint. I will always point out any significant issues with each part. If I have listed a part, it is because I believe you can use it. If you want to see any other view, let me know and I will endeavor to post it asap. I usually ship UPS for heavy cartons. But I look at other ways to get the lowest cost. Shipping weight will be about 15 pounds. I will greatly reduce shipping costs for multiple purchases. It has scuffs and scratches from normal use. Notes: This item was not fully tested. Since we do not have the proper resources. When we purchased this item it had a bad computer module. We bought a New computer module, and installed it. When power was applied it booted up to the main menu. Since the module was replaced we started to enter the four Service Codes. The first code,97, X, Y, and Z were seen as they were manually moved in a positive direction. The second code, 11, feed back, the X axis was out of spec. The readings should be less than 4-5 ... morethousandths of an inch and X was at 0.0130 inches. We cleaned and adjusted the sensor on the table and re-ran code 11 but it still read approximately 0.0100, which is still too high. This could be due to a number of things or the fact that is was sitting on a wood pallet. We took a picture of the displays of codes 11 and 12, so please reference these for information. We did not continue with the last code, 123, since we do not have the tools or experience to perform it(begin/end standard) The quill spun with no problems and we could easily raise/lower the knee No further testing was performed. NOTE: This mill does not come equipped with any spindles or tools, though the Trak& Sport Knee Mill Knee Mill Retrofit Service Manual can be sent upon request. Up for bids is this vintage Craftsmen letterpress. It was recently found in an estate sale just as you see it. It appears to be in good condition. It would be really nice looking all painted up or used as is. The rollers are soft but they might need replacing. The chase measures 8" X 11" so I am guessing this to be an 8 X 10? There is no damage to the cast frame or parts. What you see is what you get. I am offering this as a pick up item but can skid it up for you and ship through and LTL carrier. We are selling our Chandler& Price Pilot Press. This press is unrestored. But is in full working order with all original parts(with the exception of 1 spring and the feed board) We have owned the press for 8 years and printed some projects on it, but our volume and sizes requirements forced us to work commercial letterpress printers instead. Since then it has safely sat unused in our studio. When we bought the press from a shop that had closed. We had it refurbished to perfect working condition by a Pilot expert in his shop. Other than some dust, its condition is unchanged from then. There are no cracks and no missing parts-with the exception of rollers. These were misplaced in a move, but new ones can be bought from NA graphics for about $100 each. All adjustable parts move as they should(impression screws nuts, tympan bales, and grippers) ... moreIt could use some cleaning and some oiling, but otherwise it doesn't need any further restoration to print capably for a long time. We're also including all the extra parts and tools pictured below. Other than rollers and whatever plates you'll be printing with. This is everything you'll need to get up and running: 3 6.5 x 10 Pilot Chases. A composing stick. 8 nearly full tubes of 1/2 pound ink(most unused) from NA graphics. Leads and slugs. This is a HEAVY duty stencil cutter that is quite old. But still in really nice condition. Some light surface wear as pictured and some very minor rust on back legs. All numbers, letters, and punctuation cut great. Dial rotates nice and smooth, although it has not been used in decades so it should be oiled up before use again. Well. I pondered, and I pondered but I am moving and need to lighten the load. This is 1 of 2. Newspaper Turtles. Used to Compose a'form' within a Letterpress'chase. Turtles were made to roll across the composition room of the newspaper while the'composer' assembled his various fonts from the gallies. Zincs for photos, and furniture, Slugs, and Reglets to get the correct spacing and'page layout' assigned to that particuler'employee composer. On any day. There were probably OVER 100 composers rolling these around the layout room as the paper was getting ready to go to print. I have looked for the past 2 days all over the internet. I could not find 1 Turtle for sale. I know alot of these got melted down in the day and demise that newspapers went to film and metal plates for offset presses. I am willing to sale ... moremy Turtle for $900. I paid just under this, + shipping from Canada when I originally purchased it 9 years ago. Weight is APPROX. 200 lbs. very. Very heavy steel legs, wheels, and heavy top. Many fabricating shops repurposed these as fitting tables back in the 60's and 70's as they were'decommissioned' by the papers. You know. There is cheap, and there is cheap. I don't have anything cheap. I have very nice things. Items that are a joy to own, items that have been taken care of since they were purchased new. As if they meant something and were important. My Great Grandfather purchased this slug cutter back in the 1930's. my father as a boy of 12 stood on a wooden crate and ran the presses because he wasn't tall enough to do it from the floor. He used this slug cutter while preparing his letterpress forms. When I was a boy of 8 years old. I spent many days studying under master craftsmen learning how to properly prepare my letterpress forms.and I used this slug cutter. I wiped it off just the other day. I was amazed at how beautiful this piece is after nearly 100 years on our shop floor. Like new. Like all of our equipment because we as a family ... moredidn't have much. So whenever we did buy a tool for our trade. We took care of it. This cutter works as good as the day we bought it. No. It doesn't need loosened up. Yes. It is the original paint. Scratches. Honestly, I cannot see any. How is is possible after nearly 100 years. 4 generations.3,000 work hours per year, a hundred different employee hands touched it. Marsh Stencil Cutter Model R - 1 inch Hand Operated Letter Number Die-Cut
This auction is for a Marsh Model R- 1 inch stencil cutter only. There are no instructions nor oil board. This stencil cutter was retired from a local school. It has been in storage for a long time. Everything moves freely. But is missing a part underneath that locks a lever in place to slide the oil board in place. Also, when the board is in place(inserting manually holding the lever down) after pushing the lever down to cut a letter/number. the board does not advance after the handle retracts. I'm not sure why this occurs. This hand powered machine will require service. It's currently not in proper working condition. Also, I will not ship this item since I cannot pick it up. Chandler & Price 14 1/2 x 22 letterpress printing press
Your looking at a Chandler& Price 14 1/2 x 22. From the what I've gathered it was manufactured in 1931. This press is big and runs smoothly. I purchased this last year and refurbished it myself. Which means I took it all apart. Cleaned 80 years of ink and grease off of it, welded any cracks, painted it and put it back together. You won't find a cleaner/ shinier press. The only cracks on the press were on the roller arms. I had them professionally welded and should last a long time. The press comes with 4 rollers that need to be recovered. I did an embossing job on the press and that is it. The only thing the press is missing is the bottom gear that turns the inner inking disk. The motor is 220V, 1 hp@ 1165 rpm which turns the machine too fast for my liking. You must spin the machine by hand in order to get it going. I've been ... moresearching for a variable speed motor but if it sells before I find one then so be it. The press comes with 2 chases, a platen wrench, and tools to assist pulling the rollers. This press is in my garage at my residence. Local pick up preferred but willing to ship if arranged by buyer. Shipping must take place within 3 weeks of purchase.
