Description: This is a quality made after market muffler for the model 72 Maytag engine. Originals like this are very hard to find. They where used on twin engine powered water pumps as well as some generators and maybe other things. This muffler includes all mounting hardware and the gasket. To install simply mount the back half to your engine with the two included 5/16 bolts. Then install the front half with the long 1/4 inch bolt that is also included. If your muffler leaks at the seams at all simply add a few drops of gasket sealer. A nice made part and very hard to find. Will work great on all twin Maytag engines rather your using them on a pump or not. Neat look and great sound. They measure approximately 3.5 inches long and 3.5 inches around. MAYTAG BALL MUFFLER. HOSE, FLANGE FOR MODEL 92. 72, OTHERS GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION THIS IS A GUARANTEED GENUINE MAYTAG CAST IRON BALL MUFFLER. COMPLETE WITH HOSE AND FLANGE. This would have been for a Maytag Multimotor, a model 92, 72, or possibly others. The hose on this one is long, about 96 inches to be more exact. There are no breaks or cracks. Some might ask why I am selling the muffler separate from ... morethe multimotor. There are three reasons: first. They came out of different estates, so this particular was never on the engine I am selling; second, not everyone wants this type muffler on their engine, and others already have an engine and are seeking only a muffler; and third, I operate on a rather thin profit margin, and I am not sure the muffler would increase the selling price on the engine anyway, more critical since I purchased them separately. I sell all mechanical and electrical devices in technically"as-is" condition. As old items can get damaged or out-of-adjustment in shipping. Maytag Twin Runs Model 72 April 1947
Here is a nice Maytag Model 72 twin cylinder engine. It has serial number 101966 which gives it a production date of 4/47. The s/n is sharp even though it shows up bad in the pic from camera flash. It has the original Eisemann spark plug boots and also new Autolite spark plugs. The auctioneer said it ran so I put it on my pick up tail gate and it ran on the second push on the kick starter by hand. I only ran it a short time and later at home drained the fuel and mixed up some fuel with the correct 16 to 1 mix. I never trust that the right mix is in any 2 cycle I buy. The engine purred right along for at least a half hour. It ran just to right of"start" so the least it needs is an air tube adjustment and I am sure it would run even better with a good ck overtune up. It is running in the 2 pics where it is mounted on the board. It ... morelooked so good I thought it had been repainted but discovered later the remnants of the original decals on each end of the fuel tank. I tried to show those decals in the pics. One is not legeable at all and the other shows the OTOR part of"Maytag MULTI-MOTOR" There are a couple of scraches on the flywheel face I attempted to show in one pic. Someone put on what looks like a red rubber gas tank gasket. That is a pretty neat wood base with leather handles. It could stand a little work as the only thing really holding the engine to it is where the wing nut is. I will wire tie. With big ones, the other end for shipping and the start pedal and spark plugs will be removed also. You will find the spark plugs packed in a seperate box and the spark plug holes plugged. I will also insure it for full auction value. NOTE NOTE == You will find the spark plug wires grounded. It is common knowledge that you should never crank over the Maytag twin. Which has a"pass through" ignition coil, without the plug wires hooked to the plugs or otherwise grounded. There is a good chance coil damage will result. PAYMENT is by PAYPAL ONLY. VINTAGE / ANTIQUE MAYTAG MODEL 72 HIT & MISS STATIONARY ENGINE
For bid is a Maytag model 72 hit& miss engine. This engine is complete and in running condition. I worked on it last fall and got it running. Today. I put some gasoline in the tank and it started up with no problem. It runs very smooth. It was running when I took the close up pictures of the flywheel. I could not slow the shutter speed on my camera enough to show it running. There is a weld(braze) on the starter kick pedal as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The repair was done very well, but nevertheless, it was repaired. This is an underslung type mount. There is a wrench included which is also shown in the pictures. This engine is used and is being sold as/is. Anyone in the 43402 area is welcome to contact me and inspect this engine.

VINTAGE MAYTAG MODEL 72-D (1940 - Nice Base) WASHING MACHINE ENGINE
Vintage Maytag Model 72-D Manufactured 1940 Washing Machine Engine. The Maytag Motor is in nice shape for its age. And has the rare attractive easy mounting cast base. The Motor was stored inside a building our family just got for many years. I cleaned the motor the best I could with out taking anything apart. The Maytag Motor appears complete with no missing. Cracked or broke parts other than the spark plug end on one side is broke. The rubber motor heat guards on spark plugs are damaged from heat. I took them off for cleaning and forgot to put on for pictures, I will send with machine. spark plug wires look good. I have not tried to start motor. I do not want to put gas in the tank and have the smell limit the possibility of shipping this item. I looked in the gas tank with a gun barrel light, the tank looks good the little bit I could ... moresee. The motor appears to have good compression. MAYTAG TWIN MODEL 72-DA ENGINE RUNS
Maytag model 72-DA twin cylinder engine. Repainted about two years ago runs strong guard and top plate was recently painted, requires a 16:1 fuel oil ratio spark plugs replaced a couple years ago when i got it starts easy, the muffler is not original, its off a briggs engine but can be detached with bolts, see picture 7, sometimes the kick pedal stays down after kicked but is free, spring is a bit lazy nd might be able to be tightened, all and all great engine, DOLLY NOT INCLUDED
