1890's Original Antique Phoenix Safety Bicycle Stover Manufacturing Wooden Wheel
This is a 100 plus year old bicycle. It is a Phoenix bicycle. Made by Stover Manufacturing Co. according to the wheelmen website the Phoenix Bicycle Company was only in business from 1892-1898. I have seen original ads from 1888-89 for the Phoenix bicycle company. The ad in the pics are from 1896 and they state that Phoenix is in it's 8th year, that dates back to 1888. This is for sure a late 1880's to 1890's bicycle. Built by the Stover Manufacturing Co. of Freeport Illinois that was owned by Daniel Stover who in 1891 invented the coaster brake. This bicycle is a non coaster brake bicycle. It has a fixed gear type bicycle. The bike has a Sager"A2" seat, wooden 28" rims and original grips and bars. This bike is very lightweight. This would be a great display bicycle or nice for restoration.The frame measures 22" ... moreon the top bar, 12" headtube, 26" from center of crank to seat tube& 36" standover. Here is a chance to get your hands on a very rare bicycle, a bike that has been around before the automobile. I have noticed one small minor dent on the top tube near the nose of the seat, can be seen in pictures. Antique Vintage Brass Door Knocker Classic Design 1942 or Earlier Stover Mfg Co
This brass door knocker is stamped on the back: STOVER MFG CO. FREEPORT ILL. I researched this company name and found it was in business under this name from 1879 through 1942. This heavy cast brass piece is in good used condition with a nice patina. It is 5.5" long and 4.25" wide. Pair Antique Stover Quilt Frame C Clamps, Cast Iron, vintage quilting old sewing
Here is a pair of old cast iron C clamps. The main C body of each clamp is about 4 3/8 inches long. These were used on quilting frames. And t he top of the screw has a pivoting cap that helps secure the work. They are marked Stover Mfg Co. and Freeport. ILL for Illinois. These clamps are in good condition without breaks or repairs. The original black finish is missing in spots, and there is rust where it is missing. These antique clamps have a great look that makes them a simple but fancy way to clamp things together. They are great for temporary displays. For example, at antique shows we use similar clamps to secure Industrial task lights to a table or desk.

I love this just like the others. It has all the oranges. Reds and rusty colors I love the most not to mention the bold geometric shapes. The piece is truly full of personality as you can see. Stover CT1 throttle governed mixer.Similiar to the CT2 mixer but uses 5/16 mounting holes instead of 3/8 holes used on a CT2. I just overhaul it.Nothing broken seized.Butterfly turns freely,has 1 new needle valve and 2 new needle valve springs.It is ready to bolt on. The only unusual thing is the hole drilled on the side of the reservoir.I don't think that is factory done and for what purpose is unknown but does not effect filling the bowl to 75% West System resin is applyed inside the bowl to eliminate rust when the engine sits for long periods(I have used this and works great) The aluminum piping is not original. This listing is for an authentic vintage antique collector's sample of barbed wire fencing. This wire features a Daniel C. Stover patent. Dated April 19, 1881. This wire is called"Stover's Straight Cut Plow Point Barb on Twisted Ribbon" by collectors. ref. Hagemeier 938-B)actually Hagemeier does not show this as a twisted ribbon variation. This wire features a 7/16" wide twisted ribbon wire, which was never galvanized as the Brinkerhoff ribbons were. Barbs are two pointed made from light sheet metal, with bottom portion of barb, clamped around ribbon wire. Top of barbs are cut on a straight line with each barb having a diagonal cut on underside. Wire sample is 18-1/2" in length. It shows some age and use wear, with moderate pitting. There are four barbs, well spaced, but cut is not ell centered. There are several ... morebent points, and some kinks in ribbon. There are no broken, or missing points. Wire is in overall in good used condition.
