Rather than a rough cast cored hole, and then the outer rim of the wheel is machined flat and smooth as opposed to tapered rough cast. Patterned from antique wheels to provide an authentic old look, painted to protect from rust during storage and shipping. Handle mounting brackets clamp onto turning axle making handle mounting and removing easy. Instructions include with set. Specifications: Wheels- 8” diameter by 2” wide. 1-1/6” bore for ¾” pipe axle. 8 pounds each. Steering Bolster- 5” diameter base. 6-1/2” wide axle mount saddle, two 7/16” mounting bolts 3-3/4” apart. 5/16” dia. axle u-bolts. 6-1/2 pounds. A set of 4 cast iron wheels that were removed from a vintage platform scale. From the appearance of the wheels it looks like the scale was stored in a building with a dirt floor. The wheels rusted on one side which resulted in pitting. Shown in close up. The wheels are 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the face of the wheel is 1 1/16 of an inch. The hole in the hubs are apr. 9/ 16 of an inch. Up for auction is a pair of two matching vintage original Hit& Miss Engine cart wheels that are 20" diameter with a 3" face and a 1 9/16" hub diameter. Each wheel has 10 spokes and there is rust and some pitting but no broken. Thin, or missing spokes. There is a piece out of one hub that is clearly visible in photo#4. These are extremely well made, heavy duty wheels and the one small piece missing in the one hub will not affect their use in any way and could easily be repaired. Old Original Sparta Economy Hercules Jobber Hit Miss Engine Cart Truck Steam
This is a real nice original jobber style engine cart or truck for a hit and miss gas engine. I believe it was used under the 1hp Sparta Economy and several others. It would look great under any 1-2hp engine and would certainly make moving it easier. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind and includes the original pull handle. The wheels measure 8 1/2 inches in diameter with a 2 inch face. The wheels are nice and tight on the axles and the cart is ready to set an engine on and use it. 4 Antique Cast Iron Scale Wheels for Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart, 5 in, old vintage
Here is a great set of 4 matching antique cast iron wheels. They each have 6 spokes that curve slightly. Giving them an attractive look. These wheels are 5 inches in diameter with a 1 7/16 inch tread or rolling surface. The axle hole is 11/16 inches in diameter. When we got them they were rusty, but we have cleaned the rust off of them with a wire brush and buffing pad. A small amount of light rust remains in the center holes and in between the spokes. These wheels are embossed with PA13 on one of the spokes. They came off of an old industrial scale cart. They would be perfect for a hit and miss engine cart, antique machinery display, or industrial furniture project.

Hit and Miss engine with 2 cart wheels up for auction. It is a Hercules Economy Engine with a possible 2- 3 hp. The fly wheels move freely and the piston goes back and forth smoothly. This engine needs restoration as it is not running. It has points but they need some work. It also needs a coil and battery. Here are the measurements: Cart wheels- 17 1/2" by 3" wide. Here is a heavy antique cast iron wheel. This is a single wheel that is 6 1/8 inches in diameter. The axel hole is 3/8 inches in diameter. The tread is 1 3/8 inches across. This wheel has a rustic look that makes it a great addition to a collection of wheels decorating your home or garden. It would also be useful if you were trying to gather a set for your hit& miss engine cart. Industrial style coffee table, or other project. There is rust on the tread and wheel. Hit Miss Gas Engine 1 1/2 - 3 hp Fairbanks and Morse cart
Here is what was a 3 hp cart. It used the angle iron rails. One rail has been cut off. So I am placing the 1 1/2 hp pressed steel frame with this, to make it more appealing. If using this tin frame, the front bolster riser, the pressed steel support) would be too wide for the tin frame. One would have to find on for this application, or bend this one to work, or replace the one cut off angle iron and use it as a 3 hp, and have the pressed tin frame for a spare. The tin frame is in good enough condition. I see no major flaws. There are no washers with this cart. It does have a handle that needs a little attention. The wheels are ok. I am going to work on this a little. And take some more pictures. Only one rear bolster sells, and I plan to remove the hitch pin thing. I do not accept offers as a general rule. This is a very nice original John Deere Type E 3 Horsepower Statinary Hit& Miss Gas Engine from a local collection. The engine was cosmetically restored when the owner purchased it. But he doesnt know what work was done to it internally. We believe every part to be original to the engine and it turns over fine and has good compression. We dont see any chips, cracks, or repairs and the engine seems to be in great original condition. According to the Serial Number 311215 it was manufactured in 1930. This is a very old hand front axle for a cart that would be used for an old Hit Miss engine.Its missing a wheel.the wheel that is present and has a casting T148 as seen in last pic.possibly john deere?
