However there is a fuel adjustment valve that is broken off and stuck!!!! See pictures !!! The throttle shaft moves freely and the butterfly seems to close up against the housing like it should. Probably doesn’t seal off the air 100% but Shouldn’t have to with a throttle governed engine. The throttle adjustment knob is rusted stuck, shouldn’t take a whole a lot to work it loose though. Witte engine owners talk about their engines is 36" by 24" when opened all the way. The red color is in good condition. Has tears along the folds some water staining in the center fold and edges but not on the pictures. This lists many people, the engine they had and how well they liked the engine, the way it ran for them. One page Says Read What Bankers Say. 2hp Witte Engine stationary throttle govern
Hello here I have an old 2hp Witte throttle govern engine. This engine is complete minus the gas tank and a hot mag. There is one old repair on the rocker bracket but shouldn't affect getting it running again. It has week compression and can see slight blow by past the valves by looking in exhaust hole. This should make a good project and needs a good home. I just don't have the time for this one anymore and need to cut the projects down some. I believe this engine to be early 20's but not sure as there is no tag. I ship/local pick up only after payment is received. Payment needs to be made with in 5 day of purchase. I accept PayPal. Witte 12HP Dieselectric Stationary Engine Hit Miss
You are Bidding on a Witte Dieselectric 12HP Oil Field engine. It is a Model MD Serial Number D17013. I had this running briefly a couple years ago by injecting fuel in the breather. What a beast! Unfortunately over the winter the plug allowed snow to build in the hopper. Melt and then freeze, cracking the head. I don't have pictures of the cracks at this time but I will try to add them soon. I don't think they would be to hard to weld and I haven't taken the time to look for a new head. The engine is on a home made trailer as seen in the pictures. Trailer has 2 Bulldog Jacks and a 2" hitch. Lights probably need rewired. I wanted this to be the center of my collection but I dont forsee having the time or money any time soon so it needs to go. This is a guaranteed to be original rare color Meco Engines catalog. It measures about 9 X 11 inches and contains 17 pages. I have only ever seen two Meco catalogs. And they were both different versions, this being one of them. It contains data on engines 2- 12hp and even has an original yellow order form included, that also has all of the engine prices. 2hp Witte dragsaw engine, hit miss?
This is an old Witte one lunger dragsaw engine. It has the slanted water hopper extension and a large wooden pulley attached. The gas tank has never been installed. The carb looks rebuilt or newer. Shouldn't need much work to get it running. I can store it until spring if nessesary.

Witte Model B oil well engine not hit miss
For sale is a Witte model B 10 HP oil field pump jack engine. It is set up to run on well head gas. Easy conversion to propane. Clutch works as it should. There are no breaks or welds on this engine. It has been kept inside since removed from the well. All I did was clean the points, prime it with gasoline and it started on the first turn after sitting 10 years. It carries great oil pressure, no knocks or smoke and is very smooth running, sits still on the skids at all RPMs. I have not tried to run it on natural gas or propane but see no reason why it would not work as it should. I do not have a starting crank handle. I will not ship this item. We can load it with a forklift. Please read the terms carefully. They are not complicated. This item must be picked up. I will not ship it. It also must be paid for at time of pick up and within 7 ... moredays of end of auction unless you have made other arrangements prior to bidding. We can hold this engine for a while if paid for. We can deliver it to the Portland spring swap or to Coolspring in June. Again please ask about terms and delivery prior to bidding. The catalog is 13 pages of views and info for the LOG AND TREE SAW. The insides are loose from the cover-the rusted staples are missing. Rust damage at fold, and smoke or toning damage to front cover. Has a little scribbling on front cover. The small foldout brochure is from the UK and shows and lists various companies that use the Witte Portable Power Saw. This brochure has paper loss in middle of the front. The original mailing envelope has the same smoke or toning throught, tears and paper loss-the smaller envelope was attached as a mailing label. Witte side shaft hit and miss engine 9hp circa1905/1910 hopper cooled
This is a 9hp Witte side shaft engine dated between 1905/1910 as the factory records were lost. From a list compiled that is as near as the date can be established. There are eight 9hp engines known and some are tank cooled and this one is hopper cooled. The flywheels measure 39 1/2" and the serial number is 5041 and they are stamped from the factory to show valves opening and closing as well as the ignition. Most all the numbers i can find on the parts match the serial number. It has a round connecting rod that can be adjusted for the amount of compression needed for the fuel used and it has a lot of compression. No know cracks. Breaks or welds on the engine and the gasoline valve was just replaced. I have ran the engine but not since the new valve was installed. It is ignitor fired with a coil and battery. A couple of things that could ... morebe fixed are the intake valve could use a new bushing and the roller for the exhaust valve is worn but neither of these will affect the running. Also a couple of spokes are rusted almost through from sitting in the dirt but it does not hinder from pulling the engine. I replace eight bolts that hold the axles on one side as the old rivets were rusted almost through. I would get it to a shipped in Dallas or Fort Worth at no cost for shipping overseas but would not be responsible for any shipping arrangements or crating costs or shipping. It can be stored here for a while but must be paid for at the end of auction. This engine has been in collectors hands for many years and just now is coming up for sale. Questions are welcome and if serious. Call and leave a message and i will return all calls in the evening. 940-686-3615. This antique Witte Engine was taken out of my Grandfathers service station in Mission South Dakota back in the 1980's. It was brought back to my Fathers house in 1997 where it was last ran and then stored. I am not exactly sure if this is the 6 or the 12hp model as the id tag on the engine is gone. The engine is complete and still turns over and I am pretty sure this thing will start and run as Like I said we started it and it ran when it was put in storage. My Grandfather used this engine to power his station back in the 1940's and 1950's. I am pretty sure as well it is a early 1930's model as that is what my father told me. I also have the electrical box that goes along with this unit as well but I forgot to put it in the pictures. The engine is being sold as is because I can make no guarantees on it. Commonly known as a"Hit and Miss" engine, these sturdy simple internal combustion engines were introduced in the late 1800's and by the turn of the century, these motors were used from the farm, saw mills and other industries and business operating various equipment from pumps to generators, saws to fans and Witte Iron Works was one of the early makers until more efficient engines would replace the hit and miss engine by the 1930's and many of these obsolete engines being scrapped for the war effort during World War 2 but now holding a special place in the hearts of engine enthusiasts.
