Slingerland drums - 1965 White Marine Pearl 13,16,22
I bought this kit a few weeks ago and my needs have since changed after winning an audition. This kit is truly the best example I have ever seen of a vintage Slingerland kit. The kit is all original. The wrap is very bright(They were stored for years) the shells, edges, chrome, etc is all fantastic. Heads float nice and produce tone at very little tension attesting to the edges and roundness of the shells. The only things to mention are: 1. The batter bass drum hoop is missing about 1/2 of the inlay. The wrap is so bright it could easily be matched 2. The push buttons for the floor tom brackets are missing. There is a screw in place of them. Sizes are 14x22. 9x13, 16x16. Vintage Ludwig Pioneer snare WMP white marine pearl keystone badge 60's No Resrv
Ludwig Pioneer WMP 5 X14 Snare Drum from the early 1960's This is a decent snare drum. Keystone badge with no serial number dates it to early 60's. 1961- 1963. There is no date inside the drum. The harware is nickle. The rims are a little beat up. There is one dent in the top rim. One dent in the main part of the bottom rim, and the part that goes under the snare wires is dented up. There are no snare wires, and the throw-off is not a Ludwig original. Everything else, except heads, appear to be original including rims, lugs, rods, muffler, snare butt plate. A little surface rust, but nothing big. The white marine pearl is yellowed like most of the 60's WMP that you see. The white paint is worn off a couple spots on the shell below where the snare wires would go. Remo heads are in decent shape. This auction is for one of the rarest WWII fighting knives that can be found in this great condition and with the original sheath. This bolo knife is marked with the United States Marine Corp. initials: U.S.M.C. and is also signed by the maker in an oval logo blade etch: THE CLYDE CUTLERY CO. CLYDE. OHIO, U.S.A. CLYDE 1850- MADE IN U.S.A. The original leather sheath is marked: U.S. BOYT- 1942. This rare old fighting knife is in excellent condition for its age and still shows a near mirror like shiny finish. It does have a few micro blemishes on the carbon steel blade and there is a tight hairline through one rivet on the hickory handle but the grip is still solid and tight. It measures 16 3/4" long with a 11 1/4" full tang blade that is 2 3/4" wide and 5/16" thick at the blade back. In the leather sheath it weighs 2 lbs. ... more11 ozs. The sheath is also in excellent condition with no rips, tears, or busted stitching showing what I think is just storage and age wear. Never drilled for an internal muffler. Shell is three ply with reinforcing hoops and original"chocolate milk" interior paint. The drum has been nicely rewrapped in White Marine Pearl, but is missing the badge and eight tension casings screws are not original. Other than that, it's a nice-sounding, good looking vintage Slingerland 13" rack tom. Heads are used but with some life left in them: Remo Pinstripe on top. Ludwig WeatherMaster on bottom. Hohner's Single Sided Marine Band Tremolo in G(1922-1936) Very rare model of the MB Tremolo in superb condition. Reeds are placed on just one side. I don't think it's over stating the case to say the condition can only be described as 9.5/10. The paint is almost flawless. The gilt on the ends is like new, the chrome covers are bright and shiny with very little tarnish. Even the paint on the comb ends where the mouth goes is intact.
