The nut around the tip is made of brass. This oiler measures approx. 3 1/8” tall by 2 1/8” wide. There are some wear spots to the metal and enamel. This was found with WW1 Enfield and Lewis parts abandoned in the Mid East outside Bhagdad. Flat end has British Broad Arrow Mark and the"HL&S" stamp and maker's mark. Old Brass Webster K Hit Miss Gas Engine Motor Magneto Steam Tractor Oiler HOT!!
This is a very nice original brass bodied Webster K magneto for a hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It oscillates very nicely with no noticeable wear in the bearings and has excellent magnetic pull as the magnets have just been recharged. It puts out a HOT, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. There is very little wear on the trip finger and I don't think that this magneto has seen very much use in it's life. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern. It has a brass body and brass bearing plates which is so much nicer than the pot metal bodied magnetos! It has the original oilers on the bearings and the original leadout cover. It has a new leadout wire on it. It is missing the original name band but these are ... moreavailable rather inexpensively from several of the hobby suppliers. These magnetos are tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and often require several hundred dollars worth of work so if you've been looking for one that needs nothing here it is. Swift Lubricator Co. This oiler was pataneted on mar.21.1882 by the Swift Lubricator Co. in elmira N.Y. Condition description All the brass is good with no cracks and the wood is not cracked either. Everything turns on it and the inside still has oil in it. I would say you could put it on your engine as soon as you get it. When cleaned up with the buffer. If you decide to do so, I would say it would be a 10 out of 10 oiler.

Nickel plated brass, type 2 oiler, USGI, for 1903 Springfield, M1 Garand,
Up for sale. Is very nice post WWI to early WWII, type 2 oiler, with a USGI brass cleaning thong from the same time period. This oiler is correct for all post World War I Springfield 1903 rifles as well as prewar and later, M1 Garands. The nickel finish on the oiler tube is almost perfectly intact. Which is exceptional for an item that is a minimum of 70 years old. There are nol dings in the tube, see pictures) The leather on the end cap and leather washer on the oiler cap are very good, and the caps are tight still got original oil in it douse not seem to ben used.
