Here is a Top Cap that will fit a 3" Diameter 3 Chime Lunkenheimer Steam Whistle. It is 3" wide and 1 1/2" tall. It is in good condition with only a few very minor dings. Nothing major. It has a nice looking brown patina. This cap will fit the Lunkenheimer 3 Chime only and will not fit on a single bell chime. I have no knowledge of what they are used for and I can't guarantee that they work. They are all signed but one I cannot make out the name. Included are gauges from Lunkenheimer. Lunkenheimer 3 1/2 Diameter Plain Bell Brass Steam Whistle for Traction Engine
This is an original antique Plain Bell Lunkenheimer Brass Steam Whistle. It is 3 1/2 inches in diameter and overall just over 14 inches tall(from the hex nut at the bottom of the valve to the tip of the acorn nut on top) It reads LUNKENHEIMER on one side of the valve and 3 1/2 200 on the other. It has a 1 inch threaded inlet. This whistle is in used condition. It does have quite a bit of pitting on the bell and on the bowl. Please look closely at the photos and you can see the pitting. It does have a newly made valve and valve stem by an excellent machinist. I tested it on my 60 gallon air tank and at 30 psi it sounded great! This whistle would be great on a factory. Sawmill boiler, smaller scale steam locomotive, ship, tugboat, riverboat paddle wheeler, steamship, traction engine boiler, etc. Shipping. Cincinnati Brass Works steam whistle about 1870 predecessor to Lunkenheimer
Before the Lunkenheimer Co. was incorporated in 1889. It was known as the Cincinnati Brass Works. This whistle is an early example of that company. This is a 2 inch whistle, meaning the whistle bell is 2 inches in diameter. It measures about 17 inches from top of acorn to bottom end of the drop handle. Notice that on these early whistles their is no reversible handle fulcrum. You had to select when ordering if you wanted an upright or drop handle. If you notice in the last photo, the threaded boss for the bell is on the outside(topside) of the bell, not hidden on the inside as on later whistles. By 1874 the boss was inside, so I believe this whistle predates that year. It's in decent condition for its age. There are a few dings, but no dents, breaks or repairs. The wrench faces show some wrench marks and the hex on the acorn is somewhat ... morerounded. Overall a great, early whistle for the collector.

There is wear on the actuating lever and marks on the name, hex plug& a gouge in the bell as shown in the picture and there are other small misc. marks/dings it. The base has some reminisce of paint on it. The inlet is 3/4" pipe thread. For sale is an antique steam whistle vintage steam whistle made by LUNKENHEIMER. Circa 1918. The piece stands 19" tall including the vintage base and weighs 9lbs. overall.This is a three-chime whistle, meaning that it was capable of producing three different levels of sound. It appears to be functional, it was tested but air pressure was such that only a small quick whistle was realized. However with correct pressure I am sure this works fine. It is very heavy and constructed of solid brass, with the exception of the short iron pipe display stand and wooden base, which was added at some point. The spring loaded actuating lever is cast iron, with a patent date of what appears to be March 1918(could be 1919) There is some rust and pitting on the lever but surface only. The brass valves are tarnished but could easily be cleaned and polished ... moreif so desired.

The Imperial valve is 2" long has a 1/2" female end and a 1/2" male end that has a chip on the threads. There are two matching valves with flat handles. These are 1 5/8" long and have 1/2" male ends. There are two other matching ones that have ring handles. These have 5/16" male threaded ends and are 2 1/8" long. one has an extra piece that is marked Pat. Sept 22.1908. 1908 Lunkenheimer catalogue. Hardbound with red cloth. Measures 5 inches x 7 1/4 inches, 564 pages, profusely illustrated with page after page of engravings of valves, oilers, all manner of lubricating devices, and whistles. There are even brass cocks(spigots) for beer and liquor barrels. 14 pages on whistles alone including an electrically operated whistle that could use AC or DC and air or steam. The most expensive whistle I could find was a monster with a 12 inch diameter bell that cost $400.00. A whole lot of money in those days. Text block is clean and tight and bright. The covers have very slightly bumped corners and the is a little shelf wear to the corners and the bottom of the spine. Covers are a darkened in some places and very slightly faded in in a few spots.study the photos. All in all the condition is excellent for a 106 year ... moreold catalog. The bell measures 3 1/2" wide and 14 1/2" tall(not including the pipe attached on the bottom which would make it 21" The bottom pipe measures 1-3/8" diameter. The bell does have some shallow dings but no cracks or repairs. It is stamped with"3-1/2" above"200" on one side and"Lunkenheimer" on the opposite side. It does not have a polished. 5" Lunkenheimer New Improved Fire Alarm steam whistle
Up for auction is a Lunkenheimer New Improved Fire Alarm variable tone whistle. Sometimes referred to as a Mockingbird or Wildcat whistle. The whistle has a diaphragm inside the bell that is attached to a manually operated push rod. As the rod is pushed or pulled the diaphragm moves up and down changing the effective dimensions of the resonating chamber and the pitch. These were used as fire alarms as they had a distinctive sound and could be differentiated from other fixed tone whistles. The diameter is 5" The bell is 15" tall and made of copper. The bowl is cast iron. The overall height of the whistle is 22" from inlet to top of bell. The operating rod projects down about 5" further in the retracted position. There are no dings, dents repairs welds etc. The only defect of the whistle is that the original clevis fitting ... moreon the end of the rod is missing. The whistle will need special attention and double boxing and will be quite large in shipping to protect the operating rod. Shipping will be a flat $75 in the US.

I HAVE FOR SALE AN ORIGINAL LUNKENHEIMER CARBURETOR. This particular carb. was removed from a 4 HP SANDOW engine. This carburetor will work on other Waterloo and Waterloo" CONTRACT" style engines such as( Majestic. Banner, T. Eaton, American Boy, and the list goes on) Many other gas engine company's used the particular carb. also. This will fit other HP's so please let the pictures and measurements be your guide. This carburetor is an excellent condition with NO cracks, breaks, or welds. The threads appear to be in good condition. The threads that attach the carb. to your engine are 1" NPT. I did not get very good pictures of this. 4 is the best picture, uncleaned, marked on the top Lunkenhiemer Ideal No. 2, Lunkenheimer Mfg. Co. Cinnennati, O. I was unable to get the top screw adjustment to move, but did not force it, am sure it will move. It is 4 3/4 in. long over all, 5/8 in. insert on bottom side, threads look good. Nice Old Brass Lunkenheimer 1 1/2 Paragon Gas Engine Oiler
This auction is for an old brass Lunkenheimer paragon 1 1/2 gas engine oiler. It is complete and everything works nicely. And it does have the check valve and blow by tube. Threads are nice on the adjustment, and the hex partt on the bottom is not all marked up by wrench marks. The only thing I can see wrong with this, is that it has a small nice out of the edge on the top as you can see in the pictures, otherwise, nice old oiler. Please see pictures. 1/2 Inch Lunkenheimer Brass Steam Whistle Valve, Works Great!
This is an original antique Lunkenheimer 1/2 Inch Steam Whistle. It reads LUNKENHEIMER on one side of the valve and 1/2 200 on the other. This valve is in great working condition. Has been restored and polished, and has a clear coat finish. It appears to be lightly used. The valve is tight as it should be and does not leak. This valve is suitable for a steam or air whistle for a sawmill boiler. Smaller scale steam locomotive, ship, tugboat, riverboat paddle wheeler, steamship, traction engine boiler, steam tractor, traction engine, etc. Shipping. Lunkenheimer Brass Steam Whistle, 3 Chime Bell, Old Style, Restored, Rare Find!
RARE FIND! This is an original antique old style. Reversible fulcrum, Lunkenheimer 3 Chime Brass Steam Whistle. It is 3 inches in diameter and overall just over 11 inches tall(from the hex nut at the bottom of the valve to the top) It reads LUNKENHEIMER on one side of the valve and PAT JUNE 7 92 on the other side. It has a 3/4 inch threaded inlet. It is made with the rounded top without the acorn nut. Which is very difficult to find. This whistle is in great working condition. Has been restored and polished, and has a clear coat finish. It does have some pipe wrench marks around the hex nut on the bottom as found on most steam whistles. Bell is in great condition, no dents, no damage or repairs anywhere on the whistle. I tested it on my 60 gallon air tank and at 90 psi it worked and sounded great! The valve has been lapped and is good. This ... morewhistle would be great for display. Antique Lunkenheimer 3 flute brass Steam Whistle for Tractor River boat Train
Please ask any questions you may have prior to bidding! Antique three fluted Lukenheimer(Cincinnati. Oh. brass steam whistle that measures 5 3/4" long x 1 1/2" diameter. It was found in an old shed near Sanford Fl. Sanford was a shipping port on the St. John's river before& after the civil war until rail lines were built which soon shut down water transportation for goods and passengers in and out of the area. Perhaps this whistle came from a steam boat, a steam train or maybe from a stationary steam engine. Logging was big in the area around the turn of the century and after. The whistle is not plugged up but is untested. It is very dirty from it's shed experience. Lukenheimer is stamped on one flat of the hex. No valve& lever assembly with it.
