GREAT RUNNING JOHN DEERE 1 1/2HP E SCALE MODEL ON TRUCKS HIT & MISS GAS ENGINE!!
You are bidding on a very high quality. Scale model of a 1 1/2hp John Deere E hit& miss engine. The engine is in fantastic shape and is mounted on a nice set of trucks. It has great compression and starts right up and will run all day. This is not an easy to build or simple model in any way. Many hours of work went into making one of these. Every part that the full size engine has, so does this one, including everything inside the crankcase. Even the gas tank is the curved tin, like the originals. It's totally complete, even has the muffler and tin pulley. Like any other model, the magneto obviously isn't functional but the detail on it is just incredible. The flywheels measure 6" The side cover even has the brass serial number tag, just like the real thing. Even the needle valve is totally correct to scale of the original. ... moreTake a look at the pictures and I'm sure you will agree, they don't get much better than this. I have seen these ignitor fired JD's advertised for upwards of $4,000. This auction is no reserve and it sells to the highest bidder. The man that owned this, took great pride in all of his models. Up for auction is one of the RAREST pieces of John Deere literature EVER produced. This is a sales brochure for John Deere stationary(hit& miss) engines made by the Root VanDervoort Co. At the time Deere did not make their own engines so they had Root Vandervoort make them for Deere. This is in the early 1900's before Deere purchased Waterloo Boy(Yes this piece predates Waterloo Boy's, note: the very early Deere logo) This piece has all of the engines offered through John Deere at the time. This piece has some slight wear but is great considering it is around 100 years old. These absolutely do not come up for sale often. Original John Deere E Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto Steam Tractor Oiler NICE HOT!!
This is a really nice original magneto for a John Deere E hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It turns over nicely with no noticeable wear in the bearings and has excellent magnetic pull as the magnet has just been recharged. It puts out a hot, FAT, blue spark and will surely run your engine if it is set up properly. The threads in the mounting holes are perfect and the diecast body is in great shape. It has a gear on it for a 1 1/2hp engine but the gear can be changed if needed. It also has the original dust shield and felt on it and is ready to go to work on an engine. If you need a John Deere magneto like this for a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf, they just don't get much nicer than this one. This is the nicest original I've seen in a long time. Old Original John Deere L LA Tractor Sales Brochure Catalog Farm Hit Miss Engine
This is a very hard to find and pretty nice original sales brochure for the John Deere Models L and LA farm tractor. I believe it is one of the earliest advertising pieces from John Deere for these tractors in a combination format. It is in good condition for it's age with some minor wear and soiling with a little heavier wear along the spine. It measures about 8 x 9 inches with 36 pages and covers all of the specifications and features of the tractor. It is heavily illustrated and shows all of the attachments that were available for the tractors including a sweep rake which I've never seen. It has many working illustrations of the tractor and would be a fine addition to your early John Deere tractor advertising collection or display especially if you have an L or LA tractor. Lay your log on the hinged table and push it into the blade to cut the log. This came from a local estate. No markings but I have been told it was made by John Deere. This was once attached. By a belt, to a tractor or hit and miss engine and was used to cut firewood. Everything seems to work as it should. By the angle this is sitting on I believe it is missing part of the legs on one side or perhaps it was set up for a three point hitch. Not a difficult fix if you wanted to use this saw. John Deere Letz 220A Burr Mill for a Hit and Miss Engine or Tractor
This is a nice John Deere Letz 220A burr mill. These were made by the Letz Manufacturing Company and sold through John Deere. It still has some good lettering on it. The burr mill works as it should and could be ran with a tractor or a hit and miss engine. Use it at a show to draw a crowd and grind some corn. There are grease zerks to keep the turning shafts greased up good and it has an adjustment knob to control how fine or course you grind. There is also a nice serial tag still on the burr mill. I will not ship this item. It will have to be picked up here in Dyersville. Ia. and can stay here until May as long as it has been payed for.

Old Antique John Deere B Tractor Upper Water Pipe Outlet B1315R Hit Miss Engine
This is an original Upper Water Pipe Outlet for a John Deere B tractor. It is in used condition. The casting is part number B1315R and is in good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs. The pipe needs to be replaced but I believe these are available from several of the hobby suppliers rather inexpensively. The casting mounts with four 9/16 inch holes on a 3 1/4 x 8 inch bolt pattern. Ignitor For Type E John Deere 1.5, 3, 6 HP Hit Miss Farm Gas Engine
John Deere Hit& Miss Engine Ignitor. Part No. E108R. Fits 1 1/2. 3, and 6 HP John Deere Model E Gas Engines. This ignitor is complete and looks like it would work. There are no breaks, welds, or brazing on it. The shaft is not stuck in the body, the points will separate when tripped. But, since I don't have a John Deere Engine to try it out on I can't say positively. If I was going to use it I would take it apart, wash it in naptha, and oil and reassemble it. Some 25-30 years ago I used to be an old engine collector. I have rebuilt several of these ignitors in my lifetime. I am pretty well out of the old engine business now, but I did find a bucket of parts in my barn that I didn't know I had. This was in it. John Deere 1.5 HP hit and miss antique engine on original cart
Up for sale is a 1928 John Deere 1.5 hp"E" hit and miss engine on original John Deere trucks(cart) This is an older restoration I did in the last 1970s. It ran fine as of roughly 5 years ago but has been sitting in my garage since then. The magneto was rebuilt in the early 1980s. The end cap and rotor ends were replaced using NOS(new old stock) John Deere parts- those are the parts that commonly"rot" on these. Anyone who knows antique engines and magnetos would probably get the magnet recharged. The cart is original John Deere- at some point before I bought it. The rear axle casting had broken was welded by a past owner. Not very neat but it's been strong. The photos show the rear axle casting having been welded. The muffler does not have the cast"screen" with the holes in it. The muffler is missing the guts ... moreand has been that way since I bought it in the 70s. The fuel tank has been patched using an old oil can tin soldered to the bottom of the tank. Since it has been sitting for a few years I expect the check valve in the tank is gummed up from sitting. There is a cracked spoke on the crank-side flywheel. I show the crack in the photos. Although I've run it this way since day one- I highly recommend the new owner replace that flywheel. I can point you to someone who can furnish a good flywheel for it- they are not difficult to change. As I always drained the blocks of all water when done with a show the block has no splits or cracks. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. ~ Will help load onto trailer or into pickup. REBUILT John Deere Hit & Miss Gas Engine Magneto 1 1/2 - 3 - 6 HP
Here is a really nice magneto for a John Deere Hit and Miss engine. This magneto is in excellent condition. It was professionally rebuilt my a magneto repairman and has very hot spark just being turned over by hand. The threads in the bottom are in very good shape. These are often stripped out or broken. But these are in great shape! The gear is also there and in good condition. Nothing wrong at all with this magneto except for a small piece chipped off of one corner of the base as shown in picture. This does not affect the function of the magneto at all and the rest of the base is perfect with no weather cracking or any other problems! It has new brass bushings installed and is ready to bolt on and use on your engine! These are hard to find and even harder to find in this nice of shape. Unrestored Waterloo Boy hit miss ignitor engine John Deere runs good 2 1/2hp
This is an original un-restored Waterloo Boy engine that was found in a collapsed barn in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It likely was belted to a water pump that was found nearby. The cylinder head has had a very nice braze-over of a frost crack from the old days. And there are no leaks. The repair looks like a complete recovery from a well-earned battle scar. Waterloo Boy Gasoline Engine Co. was sold in 1918 and it's assets and designs became the John Deere Co. The engine is bolted to skid timbers that rest in the engine cart frame rails. The engine on skids can easily be slid off the cart to rest on the ground for solid belt work. Or the belt can be tensioned by staking the cart to ground- owners choice, and a nice option. The cart is made to carry the engine on it's skids. The engine has great compression. Starts easily and is a very ... moresweet/slow runner. The newer fuel tank is galvanized and has no leaks.
