Original John Deere E Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto Steam Tractor Oiler NICE HOT!!
This is a really nice original magneto for a John Deere E hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It turns over nicely with no noticeable wear in the bearings and has excellent magnetic pull as the magnet has just been recharged. It puts out a hot, FAT, blue spark and will surely run your engine if it is set up properly. The threads in the mounting holes are perfect and the diecast body is in great shape. It has a gear on it for a 1 1/2hp engine but the gear can be changed if needed. It also has the original dust shield and felt on it and is ready to go to work on an engine. If you need a John Deere magneto like this for a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf, they just don't get much nicer than this one. This is the nicest original I've seen in a long time. Original Brass Wico EK Magneto Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Oiler HOT!!
This is a real nice original BRASS Wico EK magneto for a hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It has MANY applications in the gas engine world. It is in excellent condition for it's age with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. The case is in nice condition and not all beat up like a lot of them that you see. A new condenser has just been installed and the magnets have just been recharged. It puts out a hot, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. This magneto has the STOP button on the front cover which is a nice feature to shut your engine off instead of messing with the needle valve. The roller pin in the bottom of the armature clevis has been replaced with a cotter pin and should be replaced before using the magneto. These magnetos are tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets ... moreand usually require several hundred dollars worth of repair work. Don't miss your chance on this one. This is a very hard to find original trip finger for a Sumter magneto on an early 1 1/2. 3, and 6hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine that uses the plugoscillator ignitor system. It is in excellent used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. The small woodruff key for the keyway is in included. It fits on a tapered shaft. These original trips are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for a restoration here it is. It would even be a great spare on the shelf. Fantastic condition. If you are looking at this. You probably know way more about it than I do. I believe this was made specifically for Fairbanks hit and miss stationary engines. Looks to me like the flywheel would come around and hit the arm. However this arm is not well worn. If you need a close up of any part. Please let me know. Turns freely. Points are there. And open and shut with rotation. The only piece I see missing is one screw on the tower. I have no way to test it, so don't know if it works. All threads good. Return if not as described. BRASS BODY WEBSTER MAGNETO M1 HOT GAS ENGINE HIT AND MISS STATIONARY
This is a nice original BRASS body WEBSTER MAGNETO Type M1. Brass body and brass end plates so you dont have to worry about cracking metal like the pot metal magnetos. Original studs in the bottom and the threads are perfect. Bolt pattern is 2" wide and 1 1/2" deep. Has the original brass band over the magnet stamped M1 which is 1 1/2hp hercules but this one came off a small ALAMO and it will fit many others. No cracks. Breaks, or welds. Original springs and rollers. I tripped it while it was on a mag bracket and it did produce a spark at the points. Trip finger on the back is stamped K2. Original Bosch AB33 Fairbanks Morse Z Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto Steam HOT!!
This is a pretty nice original Bosch AB33 trip magneto for a hit and miss gas engine. These were commonly used on some of the Fairbanks Morse Z engines and may have been used on others. This magneto has been checked over and adjusted. The magnets have been charged. It puts out a hot. Fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. It mounts to the engine on a 1 5/8 x 2 1/4 inch bolt pattern. The mounting threads are in great shape. It has the original brass locating pins in it yet for the Fairbanks Morse application. It has short trip finger on it which could easily be switched if your application calls for the long arm. The original points cover is on it. The cover has some wear but is still pretty nice. There is no noticeable wear in the bearings of the magneto. It has the factory safety wiring on it yet but was ... moreremoved to access the magnets for recharging. The original leadout has been chipped as has the wire nut but still work ok. These magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets. Original Alma McVicker Hit Miss Gas Engine Catalog Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler
This is a very nice ORIGINAL sales catalog for McVicker hit and miss gas engines made by the Alma Manufacturing Company in Alma. Michigan. It came from the estate of a very early engine collector and measures about 6 x 9 inches with 28 pages. It shows all of the features and variations of the Gilson engines that were available back in the day. It is in good condition with some wear and soiling. There is a 2 1/2 inch tear in the edge of the cover and the center pages have come loose from the staples. All of the pages are present and in good condition. These original catalogs are extremely tough to find in the wild and they really make a display more complete when they accomodate an engine at the shows. The pictures tell the story on this piece. It is a base mount magneto that mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern. The mounting threads are in great shape. The magneto is fresh from an early Allis Chalmers collectors estate where it lived on a shelf for many years and looks to be in excellent condition with no cracks. This is a real nice original Splitdorf or Dixie 46-C four cylinder base mount magneto. These were standard equipment on many early four cylinder tractors. Cars, and trucks. They were also an option for International Harvester or McCormick Deering tractors. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern with excellent mounting threads and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is clockwise rotation and turns over nicely with excellent magnetic pull. The impulse works perfectly and has VERY little wear. This magneto puts out a nice, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your tractor if it is set up properly. It has no noticeable wear in the bearings. These original Dixie magnetos are extremely tough to find and they usually require several hundred dollars worth of repair work. Not this one. One of the wire studs ... moreis a bit bent but still takes a nut all the way down and doesn't affect it's performance. It needs a points cover which should be readily available inexpensively from several of the hobby magneto suppliers and after that it's ready to go to work on a tractor or on the shelf as a spare. This is a real nice original Eisemann G4 Edition 2 four cylinder for an early car. Truck, tractor, or motorcycle. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind other than the points cover which has a longer chip off of the edge of it. This is cosmetic only and doesn't affect performance. It is a base mount magneto and mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern. The mounting threads are in perfect condition. This magneto is clockwise rotation and turns over nicely with excellent magnetic pull. There is no noticeable wear in the bearings. The housing, base, and distributor cap are all in excellent condition! The points housing and advance/retard is brass and would polish up very nicely. Original Simms SU2A Motorcycle Car Truck Tractor Magneto Hit Miss Engine HOT!
This is an original Simms SU2A two cylinder magneto for an early car. Truck, tractor, or motorcycle. It is fresh from an early collector's estate where it lived on a shelf for many years. It has some age fatigue in the pot metal base but would still work the way it is. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the threads in the brass inserts are perfect. Both original leadout towers are present. It is a rather unusual magneto and is counter-clockwise rotation and turns over nicely with excellent magnetic pull. It has very minor wear in the bearings. The 16 tooth drive gear is loose on the armature shaft and could be tightened or replaced with the gear needed for your application. This magneto puts out a nice, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your tractor if it is set up properly. It could used a little fine cleaning as it has ... moresome black paint on it but that's the fun part. These original SIMMS magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they usually require several hundred dollars worth of repair work. This one isn't perfect but it cold be with some elbow grease. It's ready to go to work on a tractor or on the shelf for a spare. If you've been looking for one don't miss it. Old Webster AMM Magneto Hit Miss Gas Engine Motor Steam Tractor Oiler NICE HOT!!
This is a real nice original Webster AMM oscillating magneto for a hit and miss gas engine. It has several applications in the gas engine world and is in good used condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs except that on of the mounting holes has a crack in it. It still holes the stud just fine and could easily be remedied with some space age adhesive. It has very little wear in the bearings. The original brass name band is on it and very nice. It has the original leadout cover on it. It mounts to the ignitor bracket on a 1 1/2 x 2 inch bolt pattern. The body is in excellent condition unlike some of them that you see. The magnets have just been recharged. Even with the frayed leadout wire it puts out a hot, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. This wire along with one of the oil cups should be replaced ... morebut that's pretty easy. It also has some red paint overspray on it that should be removed. The trip finger is in excellent condition with VERY little wear. These Webster AMM magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on this one. Original Port Huron Steam Tractor Watch Fob Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto WOW
This is a real nice original and rather hard to find watch fob from the Port Huron Company and depicts one of their steam traction engines. It is from about 1915 and measures about 1 5/16 x 1 5/8 inches tall and is in excellent condition with very little wear of any kind. The front is extremely detailed and very crisp! This would be a great addition to your early steam advertising or fob collection or display as it is very appealing to the eye! I don't think there's too many of these left to be found in original country estates anymore! It could be a long time before another one turns up and it likely won't be this nice! Original 1912 Bessemer Hit Miss Oil Field Engine Calendar Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a very hard to find original cardstock calendar from July 1912 advertising the Bessemer gas engines and their reverse clutches. It measures about 5 1/4 x 10 inches and is in decent condition for being over a century old! It does has some tape repairs on the back from a previous life but the front is still pretty nice. It would be a fine addition to your early engine advertising collection or display. It would look especially nice hanging in your oil field pumping building near your engine! This is an original New Holland hit and miss gas engine diecast toy made by Irvin's Model Shop several years ago. They were made in very limited numbers and aren't real easy to find today. This one is number 657. It is cast aluminum and is in good shape for it's age with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. The flywheels move as they should. It measures about 2 3/4 x 4 and is 2 3/4 inches tall. It has some nicks and paint chips on it from being played with but that's just enough to give it some character. These are fairly tough to find in the wild and don't even turn up that often here on Ebay. Recently one of these sold for close to $200 so don't miss out on this one. Original Old Bosch Type BAI ED 26 Magneto Motorcycle Hit& Miss Gas Engine. This is a 1 cylinder magneto with one of the lead out tower. It has a hole for a second lead out tower that has not been machined out. This mag has a drive coupler. Rotation is counter clock wise looking at the gear end. Mounting bolt holes are on 3 3/8" X 1 7/8" centers on the base plate. Mag turns ok and points look good. No cracks welds or repairs. See Photos! This auction is for one magneto. Old Bosch BA1 Harley Indian Pope Thor Henderson Hit Miss Engine Magneto HOT!!
This is an original Bosch BA1 high tension magneto for an early hit and miss or motorcycle engine. It was used several hit and miss engines and probably several motorcycles as well. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind other than the advance/retard lever on the points housing. This could easily be undone or dressed down a bit but works just fine the way it is. The magneto has a nickel plated brass base that is in excellent condition. It mounts with four holes on a 1 5/8 x 2 3/16 inch bolt pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape. Everything moves very nicely with almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. The original leadout is in great shape. It has very strong magnetic pull and this magneto puts out a HOT, fat, blue spark that will surely run your engine if it is set up properly. Old Splitdorf F1 Hit Miss Gas Engine Magneto Fuller Johnson Lauson Steam Tractor
This is a very hard to find original Splitdorf F1 rotary magneto for a hit and miss gas engine. It was used on Fuller and Johnson and John Lauson/Alpha DeLaval engines and probably others. It needs some attention as most of these magnetos do but. Again, they are very hard to find in any condition. The armature turns over but has some drag. I'm sure the pot metal body is slightly warped and needs to be fitted. The body has some age fatigue but not nearly as bad as most of them that turn up. It is also missing the two plugs in the top of the body under the magnet. The mounting threads are in good condition but one of them has a piece chipped away from it. This will still work the way it is as the hole is much deeper. Now for the good parts.the magneto is complete. It has the original leadout cover on it as well as the name band which no ... moreone is reproducing. With a little time and talent this could be a very nice magneto. Elkhart Magneto# D 3 12 for Hit and Miss Engine. From Elkhart MFG in Manroe Mich. Gear turns as it should. The gear has 40 teeth of which one is broken. I have no way to check the spark on this Vintage Mangneto. It has four screw down bolt holes in good condition. There are two small screws missing that hold down the cover. One Wico EK magneto bracket with trip mechanism. Looks to be in good working condition. And reasonably clean condition. Parts are fairly clean. Threads for spark plug look look nice. Shaft that trip sets on has some wear- see photo. Also trip mechanism as a small chip on the backside pierced to be original when casting was drilled out– See photo. Some pitting on mounting surface– see photo. I understand this to be for a 1-1/2hp Hercules. Economy, Arco& Jaeger model stationary gas engine. You are bidding on this COMPLETELY REBUILT 4 Bolt Associated Hit and Miss Gas Engine Magneto WITH 4 HP Gear. Threads in base are EXCELLENT. Magneto has been dis-assembled. Cleaned, greased and put back together. A new lead out tower has been fabricated for better transfer of current to the igniter. A new band which holds the magnets has been fabricated. Magnets were cracked. Magnets were welded according to Professional Magneto Rebuilders Practice by welding on the underneath side(see pictures) Great care was taken to make certain that the magnets made perfect contact with the magneto body so maximum lines of magnetic flux are broken by the armature as it spins. Fairbanks Morse Hit & Miss Gas Engine Magneto Model R Fits Z D Dishpan & Others
Nice original Fairbanks Morse type R magneto in very good condition. Includes a magneto gear and breather plate for a Fairbanks Morse Model Z Style D. The magneto has very good blue spark just turning it by hand. The body is in excellent shape with no cracks or repairs. The point cover has some wear to it. Not sure what happened there. Also the gear has been repaired in two places. It looks like a good repair and may have run this way. The pot metal is very nice with no aging cracks. Both mounting ears are good. The bushings are good with very little play. The teeth on the gear are excellent. This magneto was also used on the Dishpan style engine as well as many other Fairbanks Z engines. Original Fairbanks Morse 2hp T Hit Miss GAS Engine Magneto Steam Tractor NICE!!
This is an outstanding original 2hp Fairbanks Morse Vertical T hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photos. It is very unusual in that it is a factory natural gas engine as it came from the factory. It has a very unique fuel system on it. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can find or know of. It has the original muffler, and correct early style Michigan cylinder oilers and belt pulley on it. It is on a homemade cart that makes it easy to move around. It has a gear driven water pump and screen cooler that is not original but work as they should. Nothing on the engine was altered to add these and they could easily be removed if you didn't like them. This engine has tons of original paint on the crankcase and flywheels. I believe the cylinder and head were repainted MANY years ago and the ... morepaint matches perfect. It is actually flaking off of the the original nickel paint that was used on the head at the factory. This engine has excellent compression and very little wear in the bearings or anywhere. A previous owner went through it very thoroughly and ran it at several shows. I've never run it but see no reason that it wouldn't start right up. These are very desirable engines and this unique one would be a sure attention getter at the shows! These engines don't turn up for sale very often and they are almost never this nice and original. Here is a big old Eisemann magneto. It is a type 64 edit.2. There is another number on it. A44756. It appears to be in good condition, seems like all the parts are there. It measures 7 inches tall, 9 1/2 inches long and is 5 inches wide. I know very little about magnetos, and have no idea how to test them to see if they are still working. I know they were(and are) used on old tractors, hit and miss engines, old motorcycles, and the like. That is the extent of my knowledge on these. I can identify them enough so if I see them at an estate sale I know to pick them up if possible. I will describe it the best I can, but really look at the pics to see details I may have missed. Original Brass Consolidated Hit and Miss Gas Engine Oiler Steam Tractor Magneto
This is an original brass and glass oiler for a hit and miss engine. Pump, or other piece of machinery. It was made by the Consolidated Brass Company in Detroit. It is in excellent used condition with no cracks or breaks of any kind. It is a rather large oiler measuring about 3 inches in diameter and 6 3/4 inches tall overall. It is the size of a#5 oiler. Both glasses are good. It has 1/2 inch pipe threads that are in good shape. There are some light wrench marks on the mounting hex but nothing serious. These large oilers are getting tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets. Everything seems to work as it should. This is complete and ready to be put to work. The pictures tell the story. Original Wiedenhoff Magnet Magneto Charger Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor WOW
This is a very hard to find original factory built magnet charger made by the Joseph Wiedenhoff Company in Chicago. IL. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has the original name tag on it and also the original wrapping on the coils which is still in remarkable condition as can be seen. It measures about 8 inches wide x 4 3/4 inches deep and is 4 3/4 inches tall. It has a cast iron base. Most of these chargers could be used with 6 or 12 volts but work great with 6. I haven't tried it but I see absolutely no reason that it wouldn't work. It came from the estate of an early engine collector that used it many times with no trouble. These original, factory built magnet chargers are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they are one of the most indispensible tools ... morein your arsenal if you collect hit and miss engines or antique tractors. INS Magneto for Hit Miss Engine
This is a Magneto for hit and miss engine. The only marking I can see is a stamping INS on both the magnet bars. Looks to be in very good condition. Has a brass base. It sits 6 inches in height and the base is 4 x 3 1/4 inches. The mounting holes are 4 1/4 from center to center. Any questions I'll try to answer. This is a magneto from a Barco soil tamper. I believe these were made in the 50s or 60s. This mag could be modified to work on an old hit or miss engine. I don't know if this one is functional. You can feel a zap when you actuate the mag, It doesn't feel very strong, I would consider it as a core.

Brass strap says its a sumter 3-M No.14. Found this in a ranch dump on the bottom of the pile. It was seized up solid. I oiled it and broke it loose and actually got it to spark a few times flipping it around and I do feel some magnet pull but it will obviously need complete overhaul. It is rusty, the base is intact with some chipping and I think I see some threads in one hole and for sure none in the other. For parts or restore. More pics or questions if you need. Original Small ATLAS Rock Crusher Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto NICE
This is an extremely nice original and very hard to find small sized belt driven rock crusher. It is an"Atlas Crusher" made by the Nelson Machinery Company in Vancouver. British Columbia. It is in EXCELLENT original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for one of the grease fittings being broken off. I had it out to grease it and it will be easy to replace. It turns over nicely with no noticeable wear in the bearings or even on the jaws! It certainly could not have seen much use! The jaw opening is 5 1/2 inches. The overall size of the machine is 20 inches wide x 16 inches long x 20 1/2 inches tall. It has 13 and 14 1/4 inch flywheels on it. One flywheel has v-belt grooves machined into it as it was when it left the factory. It would work just fine with a flat belt on it for show purposes. The flywheels ... morehave the name in raised letters and the crusher has some decent original paint on it yet. The only thing that will require some minor attention is that both adjustment knobs are stuck but I'm sure with a little heat these would loosen up. Everything else seems to work as it should. These little rock crushers are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they are real attractions when they are belted to a hit and miss or steam engine at the shows. They are usually all beat up and full of welds from their years of service! Not this one. It's as close to perfect as you could hope to find. I can deliver this for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. I can also ship it quite reasonably through Fastenal. Vintage KW Model T MAGNETO Hit & Miss Antique Auto Horseless Carriage Tractor
This vintage K-W Model T 6-cylinder Magneto was made of mostly non-magnetic metal including brass and is heavy. It is approximately 9" long. 4-1/4" wide and 6-7/8" tall while the 4 threaded base holes are all evenly spaced about 2" on center. No idea what the original application was but came from estate of Hit& Miss Engine/Ford Model T collector. Appears good clean used with expected wear. Bakelite cap is missing 2 screw-on terminals. Old Buckeye #1 Brass Hit and Miss Gas Steam Engine Oiler Train Tractor Magneto
This is a very hard to find original#1 brass oiler made by the Buckeye Brass Works in Dayton. Ohio. It's in decent but not perfect condition for being well over 100 years old. It measures about 1 3/4 inches in diameter and about 5 inches tall. Everything works as it should. It is missing two small wood knobs but these would be fun to make on a lathe or should be available at your local hobby supply store. It has 3/8 inch pipe threads that are a little suspect where they start but are good where they need to be and tighten down just fine. This oiler has minor wrench marks and blemishes here and there but still displays pretty nicely. The worst blemishes are the chisel marks on the mounting hex. I think this would be quite easy to remedy but putting it in a chuck and milling a smaller hex on it. It would look just fine then. Old IHC 1 1/2 M Hit Miss Gas Engine Cast Iron Magneto Gear Steam Tractor Ignitor
Real nice original cast iron magneto drive gear for a 1 1/2hp International Harvester Type M ignitor fired gas engine. It is original IHC part number 9679T. It has a 3/8 inch hole for the magneto armature shaft and the keyway is in great shape. The gear measures about 2 5/8 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch face and has 30 teeth all of which are in great shape. It almost looks like this gear was never used. It has no cracks. Breaks, or repairs and is ready to be put to work on an engine. If you need one to complete a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf, this is a nice one. The pictures tell the story. Old Hercules Economy Hit Miss Gas Engine Webster Magneto Ignitor Bracket Steam
This is an original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for a 1 1/2hp Hercules or Economy hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is bracket number 303M1 and is in good condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except that it needs a new holder spring for the advance lever and an oiler cup which are available from several of the hobby suppliers. This should be an easy repair. The movable shaft has very little wear on it and the points look great. There is some pitting on the top of the flange but this would fill easily and not be noticed if you were to paint the bracket. It doesn't affect the performance of it. With a little time and attention this could be a perfect ignitor bracket. It mounts with two 7/16 inch holes about 1 3/4 inches apart on center.
