Old Fairbanks Morse 6HP Z, RV magneto HOT!! hit and miss or throttle governor
Fairbanks Morse type RV magneto. Has great spark. Gear is excellent. Does have a crack in the cap but that does not affect its ability to fire. Appears to be smooth rotating and i can feel no sloop.

Up for auction is a vintage original Wico EK Magneto in overall excellent original condition with nothing broken or missing. This magneto was removed from a running engine and I have had it sitting on a shelf. Dry stored and humidity controlled for about 30 years as a spare. ANTIQUE HIT & MISS GAS ENGINE ALAMO ROCK ISLAND WIZARD MAGNETO BRACKET IGNITOR
One used ignitor with magneto bracket for Alamo brand engines to fit the Wizard magneto. Has an old braze repair but everything works. This was removed from a 1-1/2hp running engine after a replacement was found. Casting number is 1431, engine mounting holes are 2-3/4" center to center with a 1-3/4" diameter boss for the block. Old Gould Shapley Muir Hit Miss Gas Engine Cylinder Head Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a very hard to find original cylinder head for a Type K Gould Shapley and Muir gas engine. It is in excellent complete condition and includes the valves. Springs, and butterfly. It is free of any cracks, breaks, or repairs other than one slight crack that is pointed out. This has likely rusted shut over the years but would be easy to repair it from the inside with a little space age adhesive. The valves move freely and they look good as do the seats. There is very little wear on the throttle shaft. The head is part number 2KE131 and mounts to the cylinder on a 3 3/4 inch square bolt pattern. It is about 6 3/4 inches in diameter overall. I'm pretty sure that it is for a 2hp engine but measure your engine to be sure. I believe these late GSM engines were built by Rock Island and the parts may interchange. These heads are often broken ... morebeyond repair or missing so if you need one for any reason here's your chance. They certainly don't turn up very often! The pictures tell the story. This is a rather hard to find original owners manual for an International Harvester TD-9 crawler tractor. It measures about 8 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches and has 92 pages. It has some moderate wear and staining from living in an old farm shop for many years but all of the information is complete and readable. It even has the original fold open poster sized lube chart for the tractor. It would be a great addition to your early IH tractor manual collection especially if you have a TD-9. This is a nice original cast iron magneto gear for a 1 1/2hp John Deere Type E hit and miss gas engine. It is part number E76R and is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. All of the teeth are like new and it almost looks like has never been used. If you need one for a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf, they don't get much nicer than this one. The pictures tell the story. Old IHC Famous Titan Hit Miss Gas Engine Motor Fuel Pump Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a pretty nice original fuel pump for an International Harvester Famous or Titan gas engine. It is part number G607 and mounts with two 7/16 inch holes 1 1/2 inches apart on center. It was factory equipment on the 4. 6, 8, 10, and 12hp engines. I believe that it will fit on the 15 and 20 hp engines but the part number would be wrong. It is in great condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The 1/4 inch pipe threads are in good condition. The plunger moves as it should and is nice and snug in the bore. The check balls are in this pump and it is ready to go to work on an engine. It has a few cosmetic blemishes as can be seen but still looks pretty good and none of the blemishes affects its operation at all. Old Hercules Hit Miss Gas Engine Sales Brochure Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler WOW
This is a very unusual original sales brochure for Hercules gas engines. It is a foldable pocket brochure that has been unfolded and laminated sometime in the past to protect it from wear. It measures about 7 x 10 1/4 inches and shows the 1 3/4 Style E. F, and G, connected to different kinds of pumps. It also shows the portable tilting table saw outfit as well as the drag saw. The back of it shows the complete list of nationwide repair parts service stations and it also has a list of"dealers who have large stocks of repairs" I have seen lots of interesting and rare original sales literature but have never seen this particular piece. It is in good condition for its age with the exception of the missing piece in the lower right corner which doesn't affect much more than the eye appeal of the piece. This is a very nice ORIGINAL sales catalog for Gilson hit and miss gas engines. It is catalog G-7 and measures about 6 1/8 x 9 1/4 inches with 32 pages. It shows all of the features and variations of the Gilson engines that were available back in the day. It is in good condition with only minor wear and soiling. It has a slight water stain along the top edge but this in no way affects the information it contains. This is an original early style diesel fuel injector for an International Harvester tractor or power unit. It mounts with two holes 2 3/4 inches apart on center. The barrel is about 1 13/16 inches in diameter. It seems to be in good used condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is the original injector used in the MD, WD-6, WD-9, ID-6, ID-9, TD-6, TD-9, UD-6, UD-9, TD-14, TD-18, UD-14, UD-18, and probably others. Do your homework if you're looking for one. Old Fairbanks Morse 6hp Z Hit Miss Gas Engine Ignitor Trip Push Rod Magneto NICE
This is a very hard to find original ignitor trip and push rod for a 6hp Fairbanks Morse Z engine with the early ignitor and rotary magneto setup on it. These were the earliest versions of the Z lineup. This assembly is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except that it needs a compression spring under the ignitor trip finger. This is an item that can be purchased at a local hardware store for less than $1. This push rod measures about 24 inches from the tip to the center of the cam follower roller and is 1/2 inch in diameter. I believe it is for a 6hp engine but measure your engine to be sure. I believe the ignitor trip is the same on the 3hp engines as well. Everything on this assembly moves freely with little wear and is ready to be go to work on an engine. These are often broken, repaired, or ... moremissing so if you need one to finish a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf, here it is. The pictures tell the story. This is an original valve cover for a 1 1/2- 2 1/2hp International Harvester type LA gas engine. It may fit the 3-5hp engines as well. It measures about 2 3/4 inches deep to go over the head and valves so measure your engine to be sure. It is in good condition for it's age with no dings or dents of any kind. The swinging tab door works as it should. It would clean up and paint very nicely. The only flaw that I've noted is a small"tear" in each side the could easily be welded and blended before painting. These original valve covers are tough to find in any condition and this one just needs a little elbow grease to be perfect. The pictures tell the story. MICHIGAN MAGNETO CO TYPE M MAG or GENERATOR Hit and Miss Old Gas Engine RARE
Here is a very nice Michigan Magneto Type M magneto. There is no bearing wear. Nothing is broken. Cracked or repaired. The armature turns smoothly and very strong magnetic pull can be felt when turning it. I am not exacatly sure what this mag is for. I am pretty sure it is a low tension mag ment to be used with an igniter. When the shaft is turned and a wire from the terminal is brushed against the body of the mag a nice blue spark is made. It also possible that it could be a lighting generator. Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself. Type M Brass Body No bearing wear 8-5/8" long. 4-1/2" wide, 8-3/4" tall The shaft is tapered. Old Vintage Ford Car Truck Engine Starter Hit Miss Gas Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a pretty hard to find original starter for a vintage Ford car or truck. It is in good condition as can be seen with only one small crack in the back cover. I don't believe this will affect its performance. It has not been tested but has come from an old service garage where it has sat on the shelf for many years. It does turn over. I will not guarantee the correctness of the application but the box that it has lived in for decades says that it will fit the 1956-1961 6 and 8 cylinder 12 volt applications. It will fit the Thunderbird except the 430 engine. It will also fit the 1956-60 truck. The 1956-58 Mercury, and the 1956-7 Lincoln. The label also says"Special" on the bottom of it. Old Fuller Johnson N Hit Miss Gas Engine Ignitor Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler
This is an original ignitor for a Fuller and Johnson hit and miss gas engine. It is part number 2N88A and fits the 1 1/2 through the 12hp engines. It mounts with two 1/2 inch holes 2 3/4 inches apart on center. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the tip of the movable shaft by the point. This should be an easy repair. The movable shaft has VERY little wear. The trip parts on the outside end of the movable shaft are missing but these would be pretty easy to make. The spring that's on it is not original it's just to hold the movable shaft from falling out. This would be a perfectly usable ignitor with just a little bit of work so if you need one for a project don't miss it. They don't turn up that often even at swap meets! The pictures tell the story. Old Detroit G Prairie Tractor Steam Era Car Hit Miss Gas Engine Oiler Magneto
This is an excellent original Detroit Model G 6 feed mechanical lubricator for an early prairie tractor. Automobile, or hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is missing the cover over the outlets but this shouldn't be real tough to make. The shaft turns freely as it should and I see no reason this lubricator shouldn't work. It has a cast iron body and measures 4 3/8 x 10 inches and is about 5 3/4 inches tall. It is about 16 inches long overall. It mounts with four holes in cast iron bosses on the back of the body on a 2 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch bolt pattern. These original lubricators were used on some of the early prairie type tractors among others and are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one for a project don't ... morelook past this one. This is a gas tank for a hit and miss gas engine. I'm not sure what brand of engine it is for but if you know please educate me. It measures about 2 5/8 x 5 7/8 inches and is about 16 1/8 inches long. It has two 1/2 inch female fittings at two top corners. It has a 1/4 inch female outlet on the bottom about 3 1/4 inches back from the front. The tank seems to be very solid with no rust and I almost think it is a newly made tank. The solder is a bit crude but could easily be dressed down. It looks like someone has put sealer in the tank after it was built and although I haven't tested it. I think it would hold gas. If you need a tank for an engine project and this one will work don't miss it. The pictures tell the story. This is a real nice and rare United Engine Company rotary low tension magneto/dynamo/generator for an old hit and miss gas engine. I've had many engine dynamos or generators similar to this one but never one like this! This magneto is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. Even the original base is in excellent condition. The bearings have little wear and will last a long time yet. The magnets have excellent magnetic pull and this magneto puts out a hot, fat, juicy spark that is sure to run your engine if it is adjusted properly. It puts out 9 volts with a meter! It mounts with two holes 3 3/4 inches apart on center. It has the original friction wheels on it that functions perfectly. The bearings have no noticeable wear. Old Bates Edmonds Bulldog Hit Miss Gas Engine Webster Magneto Ignitor Bracket
This is a very hard to find original Webster magneto mounting ignitor bracket for a Bates and Edmonds Bulldog gas engine. It is bracket number 303K138 and is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs and is in near perfect condition. The movable shaft has no wear at all. The roller is in perfect shape and everything works as it should. The points are in great shape and should last a very long time. It mounts with two 1/2 inch holes about 3 3/16 inches apart on center. The barrel measures 1 13/16 inches in diameter. The only thing this bracket needs is a flip top oil cup for the movable shaft which is available rather inexensively from several of the hobby suppliers. This ignitor bracket is for all of the Bulldog engines from 2 1/2 through 12hp. It may fit others as well. Measure your engine to be sure. This is a real nice original Fairbanks Morse RV4B four cylinder magneto for an antique tractor. These were used on Allis Chalmers tractors as well as many others. It is in excellent condition and has been gone through. Cleaned, and adjusted and puts out a HOT, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. It is a flange mount magneto. The magneto is clockwise rotation and the impulse works perfectly. The only flaw I've noted is two VERY minor cracks in one of the leadout towers and this won't even be noticed when the magneto is on the tractor. It also needs a little orange paint removal and it will shine nicely. These magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they usually require several hundred dollars to rebuild. This one is in near perfect shape and needs nothing. Old Kingston Brass Tractor Carburetor Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Magneto Oiler
This is a really nice original brass Kingston carburetor for an early tractor or automobile. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It mounts with two holes 2 7/16 inches apart on center. One has threads in it and the other is a through hole. The throat here is 1 3/16 inches in diameter while the intake is 1 3/8 inches in diameter. Everything moves as it should and the shafts are tight enough and very usable. The only blemish I see anywhere on this carburetor is a slight dent in the intake opening which would be easy to remedy. The bowl on it is cast brass like the rest of it which is rather unusual. Another unusual feature is the priming pin. I don't think I've seen another like it. This is a real nicely done model of a vertical Stickney"Universal" hit and miss engine. It looks to have been very nicely machined and everything works as it should. It hasn't run in a couple years but has been shown in the recent past. It stands about 18 inches tall and turns over nicely with good compression and I have no doubt it will run with some fresh fuel and a battery and coil. It also needs a cylinder oiler which is available from the model hobby suppliers rather inexpensively. This is a very rare model and I don't think I've ever seen another one for sale although there probably has been. It would be a fine addition to any model collection or Stickney lineup. This is a real nice original International Harvester Type R rotary magneto. It was standard equipment on the 6hp Type M engines as well as the 1. 1 3/4, and 2 1/2hp Mogul engines. It was also an option on the vertical IHC Famous and Titan engines as well as the 2 1/2 and 4hp horizontal Famous engines. It could probably be made to work on other engines as well. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has the original name band on it. It has minimal wear in the bearings and turns over with great magnetic pull as I just recharged the magnets. It puts out a hot, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. It mounts with two holes 2 inches apart on center. This is a very rare original Splitdorf Model S single cylinder magneto which was factory equipment on several Indian motorcycles and probably has other applications. It is fresh from an early motorcycle collectors estate and is in excellent condition for its age. It turns over nicely with great magnetic pull and looks to be in pretty good shape with some cosmetic dings but otherwise looks good. It has the original leadout tower on it and the points cover which are in good shape as well. It mounts with two small locating pins one of which is missing but would be very easy to replace. Nice in working condition American Bosch magneto. Casting numbers on the bracket are 2-2 and 2-143. Hole spacings on the bracket are 4 1/2x6 3/8 on centers. The magneto has FX 1ED21 V51C 3841644 Pat 10-17-05. 10-24-05 and 10-6-08. The weight of the magneto is over 16# and there are 15 teeth on the bevel gear. There may be a small advance retard lever missing. When turned over it throws a hot blue spark and i do not know what it was used on. Could be a hit and miss engine or tractor one cylinder. Old IHC Type M 3hp Hit Miss Gas Engine Connecting Rod Steam Tractor Magneto
This is an original connecting rod for a 3hp International Harvester or McCormick Deering Model M gas engine. Part number 9751.2.T.A. It has no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind, but does have some pieces broken out of the Babbitt(see pics) The wrist pin bushing has some heavy scoring in it. The rod cap fits tight, but the Babbitt looks to line up correct. I think this will fit both the ignitor fired and spark plug fired engines, but check the part number on your old one first. My eyes might be deceiving me. But it looks like it may be slightly bent(about 1/16 inch) hard to line up and measure with the way the Babbitt is broken. Since we sell mostly vintage parts. Nice brass body Wizard type 2T0 magneto made by the Hercules Electric Company. It is all there except for the name band. Springs and rollers. Front and rear bearing plates have been bored to clean. Part of a new armature shaft has been started. It needs finishing and rewinding. Brass body is in great shape, spring arms aren't tweaked and has no stripped bolt or screw holes. Old Early 6hp Fairbanks Morse Z Hit Miss Gas Engine Head Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a real nice original cylinder head for an early 6hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It is the early style for the engines with an ignitor or plugoscillator ignition. It has been professionally repaired and looks great! The valves have the original springs and intake guard and are nice and tight in the guides and they have been gound. The throttle shaft is nice and tight and the water injection needle works as it should. This head mounts to the cylinder on a 5 inch square bolt pattern. There is one small repair spot by the pushrod guide that could be dressed down a bit if you'd like but I'm sure it would be fine just the way it is. I believe this head is ready to be used on an engine. These original heads for the early engines are pretty tough to find and they are usually broken badly. All of the hard and costly work has been ... moredone on this one! If you need one to replace yours or just would like a spare on the shelf they just don't get much nicer than this one. This is a real nice original fuel mixer or carburetor for a Stover hit and miss gas engine. I believe it if for a Model K engine but may fit others like the CT series as well. It mounts with two 3/8 inch holes 2 inches apart on center. The needle moves as it should. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs anywhere except for the screw that holds the choke door on. I'm sure this would be and easy repair with just a little patience. These mixers are rather hard to find so if you need one for a restoration or just for a spare on the shelf here's your chance. Old Vintage KW Motorcycle Lighting Attachment Magneto Hit Miss Engine Dynamo WOW
This is an extremely rare belt driven dynamo or generator that was used as a lighting attachment for an early motorcycle. It was made by KW. One of the leading early electrical builders for automobiles, tractors, and motorcycles. It is in excellent condition with the exception of the fatigue crack in the housing. This in no way affects performance. It could easily be disguised and never known that it is even there. The bearing in this unit are as close to perfect as you could hope to find with almost no wear. The armature turns over smoothly with excellent magnetic pull and this dynamo puts out extremely good voltage just turning it over by hand. It has what looks like the original v-belt pulley on it as well as the clamp for the frame. The only wear I could see on it was on part of the brass mounting bracket. This may have been removed as ... morepart of an early application. I did no cleaning or polishing and will leave that to the buyer. I figured someone may want it for an original motorcycle so I left it along. These are EXTREMELY tough to find so if you need one for a restoration or addition to your early motorcycle, don't pass this one up. Old Antique Michigan Brass Hit Miss Gas Steam Engine Rod Oiler Tractor Magneto
This is a very rare original Michigan connecting rod oiler for an early hit and miss gas engine or steam engine. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It measures about 2 1/8 inches in diameter and about 4 1/8 inches tall overall. The glass is in perfect condition. It has 3/8 inch pipe threads which are in great shape. The Michigan name is in the top as can be seen. The only flaw that I've noted is the wrench marks on the mounting hex which shouldn't be noticed all that much when it's on an engine. One of the flats has"2 1/2" stamped into it. This is a very rare rod oiler that certainly doesn't turn up very often so if you need one for your engine restoration or to fill that hole in your brass collection don't pass it up! This is a rather tough to find original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for a Field Brundage 1 1/2hp hit and miss gas engine. It is bracket number 303M9 and is in near perfect condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It mounts with two 1/2 inch holes 3 inches apart on center. There is extremely little wear on the movable shaft. The points will last a while yet but could be replaced if you so choose. Old Western Snow Plow Electric Motor Hit Miss Gas Steam Tractor Magneto
This is an original electric motor from a Western snow plow. It is in good condition as can be seen with only one small crack in the back cover. I don't believe this will affect its performance. Old Original Otto Hit Miss Gas Engine Glass Battery Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!!
This is an extremely rare original Otto glass carbon/acid liquid battery. It is in very good original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. The only flaw that I've noted is the electrode that went in the insulator has corroded away over time. The insulator is missing. The battery measures about 4 inches in diameter and 8 1/2 inches tall. The glass jar is in excellent condition with the common imperfections that are usually found in 1800's glass. The carbon is in great shape. These were used as the electrical supply for ignition on the earliest hit and miss gas engines among other things. It is very rare to find one with the OTTO name on it and I can't imagine that there's many survivors! Each coil contains 2 separate windings which may be connected series or parallel as desired. dimensions of the inner opening are 2.75" x 3.5" square. This auction is for 2 coils. Each coil. High tension flywheel magneto tester. Hoyt model 616. This is a working tester that I have used on Briggs and Maytag engines. It has a bad and good range on the dial.
