Nice Unusual Horizontal Steam Engine on Pull Cart Hit and Miss
Up for bid is a neat old horizontal steam engine. The unit moves freely and smoothly and there are no breaks or repairs I can see. I could not find any name on this unit. It does come with a Lunkenheimer. Acme, and an Essex oiler. Flywheel is 10" x 4-1/4" wide. Crank wheel is 7" diameter. The whole unit measure 34" long by 21" wide by 28" tall. The unit with wooden base weighs 180 lbs. The unit is mounted to a nice roll around pull cart. The unit is dirty and is as found. The previous owner also spray painted these very haphazardly. Keep in mind the freight shipping on the Ebay calculator always shows higher than it is. I prefer this to be picked up and I will load on your truck for free. Antique 11" cast iron heavy duty industrial farm engine wheels. Two wheels included. Massive roller bearings inside each wheel. As well as grease fittings. Each wheel is quite heavy. No crack or repairs to be seen, although I have not cleaned them. Wheels have solid 1" axles and two washers each(axels have pins stuck in at one end) Both wheels need a cleaning. But when restored they are top quality. Because of weight it is cheaper to send them in two separate flat rate boxes over one large box. So $33.70 together. Hit miss engine The Novo 3 HP on nice Cart, Antique engine NICE
Up for sale is a 3 hp Novo hit and miss engine mounted on a nice cart. This is about a 12 year restoration and has only run a couple of times since and has been in storage. But now I need the room for other projects. As you can see from the pictures this is a very nice engine it has new rings and very good compression. I don’t believe it is missing anything. The only thing that I can see that has been welded is the governor bracket and that is it. It has a nice oiler and battery box. Selling AS IS. Please ask any and all questions. 4 Antique cast iron wheels 4 5/8", 3/4" bore, hit miss engine cart scale vintage
This is a matching set of 4 cast iron wheels. They are 4 5/8 inches in diameter with a 15/16 inch tread. 1- 1/4 inch hub and a 3/4 inch bore. We gave these a quick cleaning with a wire brush to remove the loose dirt and rust, but they still have a little rust on them. There is pitting from old rust on the sides and tread. One wheel has more pitting than the others. Despite the flaws. This is a nice set of wheels. If you have any questions, please ask.

Pair of Antique Cast Iron 8" Wheels Industrial Factory Cart Hit Miss Steampunk
This is a pair of old cast iron wheels which measure approx. 8" x 2-3/4" and the center hole is 1-1/8" The one wheel had a light layer of grease on it when I got them which protected if from rusting but the other one didn't so it has some very light surface rust on it but are both very solid and heavy. Vintage Set of 4 Cast Iron Curved Spoke Cart Wheels Axles Hit Miss Fairbanks
Matched set of four cast iron wheels and 2 iron shaft axles from a very old Fairbanks Platform Scale. Made for heavy weight bearing. Condition as noted in pictures. They have some surface rust and crust, but will clean up nicely with a wire brush. Fairbanks used very high quality iron ore to cast their parts- they were making scales and had exceptional casting and machining processes. A lot of their hardware is still in use today because of their high quality and precision assembly. Wheels are about 5+ in. in diameter. A little over an inch wide. Axles are about 1/2 in diameter and around 23 in. long. The curved wheel spoke pattern dates these to late 1800's to early 1900's. Wheels turn freely on axles. Many applications for these wheels- carts. Antique Hit And Miss Fairbanks Gas Engine With Great Original Truck Or Cart
For sale a nice 11/2 hp Fairbanks Morse hit and miss antique stationary gas engine. Engine is loose and is an older restoration and was run a few years ago. But I have not tried to run it. Everything looks good and should run with little work. I could not find any visible cracks or welds. Motor is an early igniter fired engine that runs on battery and coil and has no magneto. Motor looks fairly complete and should make a nice show piece. Pulley has one rust spot on it but is usable. The cart is original fairbanks not homemade and has always been on the engine. Nice 12 inch wheels, has some wear but like the engine in pretty good shape for about 100 years old. These carts sale for good money by themselves but want to keep with engine so will not separate. John Deere 1.5 HP hit and miss antique engine on original cart
Up for sale is a 1928 John Deere 1.5 hp"E" hit and miss engine on original John Deere trucks(cart) This is an older restoration I did in the last 1970s. It ran fine as of roughly 5 years ago but has been sitting in my garage since then. The magneto was rebuilt in the early 1980s. The end cap and rotor ends were replaced using NOS(new old stock) John Deere parts- those are the parts that commonly"rot" on these. Anyone who knows antique engines and magnetos would probably get the magnet recharged. The cart is original John Deere- at some point before I bought it. The rear axle casting had broken was welded by a past owner. Not very neat but it's been strong. The photos show the rear axle casting having been welded. The muffler does not have the cast"screen" with the holes in it. The muffler is missing the guts ... moreand has been that way since I bought it in the 70s. The fuel tank has been patched using an old oil can tin soldered to the bottom of the tank. Since it has been sitting for a few years I expect the check valve in the tank is gummed up from sitting. There is a cracked spoke on the crank-side flywheel. I show the crack in the photos. Although I've run it this way since day one- I highly recommend the new owner replace that flywheel. I can point you to someone who can furnish a good flywheel for it- they are not difficult to change. As I always drained the blocks of all water when done with a show the block has no splits or cracks. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. ~ Will help load onto trailer or into pickup. Original Hercules Economy Hit Miss Gas Engine Steel Wheeled Cart Steam Tractor
This is a rather hard to find original cart for a 1 or 1 1/2 Hercules or Economy hit and miss gas engine. It is in pretty good condition for it's age. It has the original handle. The wheels measure 6 and 6 1/2 inches with a 1 3/4 inch face. The overall width and length of the rails is 9 1/4 x 27 5/8 inches. One of the front wheels has a repair that works alright but isn't the prettiest. It might be a good idea to take the other one which is perfect and have another one cast from it. One rear wheel has a cracked spoke by the hub and the other has two. Both of these would be easy repairs but they work just fine the way they are. This cart originally had a 1 or 1 1/2hp Economy or Hercules engine on it but would work for any engine of the 1-2hp size. This style cart is pretty hard to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't ... moremiss your chance on it. It would certainly make moving your engine around easier! 2 1/2 hp SANDWICH TULIP TOP HIT AND MISS GAS ENGINE ON CART
Sandwich 2 ½ hp tulip top hit miss gas engine. This engine has probably been indoors all its life. I started cleaning engine and I would say under all the grease it probably retains 80 to 90 percent original paint but still needs a lot of cleaning. I believe all it needs is the rod bearing and it will be ready to go. The rod and crank throw are in good condition. I reworked mag but did not clean it to retain original appearance. MAG IS VERY HOT. I have been in the hobby for 20+ years and am now going back to my old cars and it all will sell. I built the quality cart for easy transport but it is not original. Personally I thought the small original carts were unsafe for this size engine. 3 WHEEL HIT MISS ENGINE/MAYTAG CART
I think this item was made to hold an old hit miss or Maytag engine. Platform frame is constructed with 1 3/4" angle iron. Measuring 22 1/2" x 17" Overall length Of item is 31" T-handle is 34" long and attaches to the front caster wheel. This front caster is on H/D ball bearings. The 3 H/D cast iron wheels are 6" in diameter and have a 2 1/4" wide track. Wheels have oil holes for the axles, but could be tapped out and grease fittings installed. I am unsure of the reasoning of the two pipes on the front. This H/D cart would be great for your hit miss engine or could be used for numerous tasks around a shop. LOCATED IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS. Just under 7 inches wide with a 5/8 inch diameter hole for the axle- Still carry much of their original paint. One of the wheels has a spoke rivet that has popped free and a small dimple on one part of the rim but both will turn just fine together when put on an axle and used. Restored Domestic 4HP Hit Miss Engine with Pump on Factory Cart
This is 4hp Domestic hit miss engine that I restored. It is mounted on a factory cart with a high-pressure pump. I bead blasted the engine to bare metal. And primed with epoxy primer. The paint is PPG urethane single-stage. The cart was bead blasted and powder coated satin black. The rings and piston look to be factory. The main bearings are newer and very tight. I rebuilt the magneto with original coils, and the spark is very strong. The side shaft and all moving parts are not painted, they are covered in clear grease to keep them from rusting. The faces on the flywheels are nice but not 100% perfect. There are no cracks or welds on the engine. The high-pressure pump was repaired in the past, after the parts were bead blasted I went over every repair to make sure it was done well. The pump has a new piston and seal, the 4 pump plugs could ... moreuse some attention. I shot the video while the engine was cold, I have only ran the engine for about 2 hours since I finished the restoration. It runs great and sounds like a Domestic with lots of clicks and clatter. I think it could run even slower with some tweaking. Take a look at the photos for the condition of the pump parts, and if you have any questions please let me know. I enjoy repairing and restoring antique equipment, I think it's a privilege to work on machines that have been around for nearly 100 years. Now that I'm done with this engine I'm ready to start on my next project. I am located in NE Ohio 44404. A set of 2 cast iron wheels that are apr. 4 inches in diameter. The face of the wheel is apr. 1 1/16 of an inch wide. The axle hole is apr. 5/8 of an inch in diameter. This is a matched set of 4 antique CAST IRON WHEELS. 6 spoke. They are approx. 8" diameter, 1" axle size, 1-7/8" axle depth and wheel face is 1-5/8" wide. I did not find any name nor number and I left them as found. You could shine them up or leave them original which is pretty cool. There is one spoke on one wheel with a crack.
