here is a nice original kick start pedal for the Briggs engines such as the WM. WMB, WI, some 5S. It has been wire brushed just to verify that there are no cracks or welds. The teeth on the gear look fine. The bushing is not worn out. Although not pictured. It comes with the return spring and the cup. and while you are here. 1941 Vintage Briggs and Stratton Model WMB
Here is another refurbished little Briggs engine. The serial number puts it around 1941. It has received a make over. Meaning, meaning old gaskets have been replaced. Points, condenser, spark plug, springs, screws have been replaced if needed and the engine does produce a nice spark. So, it shouldn't take more than a bit of fuel to get it running. As you can see the engine does not show the correct colors. Although they came in various options besides black, but I believe this kind of blue was not one of them. But it is just color. It is an earlier type. Because it still has the crank case breather on the outside. The cap for the breather and the valve inspection cover(although nicely machined) are not correct. The tank is also from a later model briggs. But as with the others I had, an adapted plate has been machined to incorporate the ... morefuel check valve and it appears this is a common practice up and down the land. The tank is clean and dry on the inside. The shroud is not in perfect condition and has 3 holes on top. Possibly for a throttle lever at one point, but that is just a guess. The flywheel is painted red and still has all fins. The attached pulley is about 3" in diameter vs. the more common 2" pulleys. It has the original exhaust elbow. The Briggs decal is one of the great repros which are available. Not a perfect example. But an early WMB and a good start for a youngster or for someone who needs a running engine for a project. Briggs Ignition 5s, WI, WMB WORKS Vintage
Here is magneto assembly removed from a vintage Briggs& Stratton Model 6s. Cleaned, and it is HOT! I always check the condensor and replace if needed on these, as well as clean and set the points. It also got a new crankshaft seal. You get everything in the picture. All these ignition parts are a direct fit to vintage Briggs Models. WI, WM, WMB, I, U, 5s and 6s. If in doubt of your application message me your engine numbers. My starting price is way less than the list price of a new point set coil and condenser alone. The point plunger is also there. The coil is part number 291617, points 29677 and condenser 29861. All Models EXCEPT the 5s and 6s had the"speed adjuster" on the magneto plate so you would have to remove it from your old plate or find the correct mag plate for originality. Here I have a total of four(4) breather covers. Or valve covers because you access the valves stems there after removing this cover. They are all in very nice condition. Some have been sandblasted and primed. If you shop around on Ebay you see them between 6-10 Dollars each. Here you can get all for less than 20 bucks. Original Briggs & Stratton Gas Engine Model WM WMB PTO, drive pulley
here is a nice. Clean, just sandblasted and primered. drive pulley for the Briggs and Stratton models WM and WMB. It has the correct 1/2" left hand tread. So you turn it counter clockwise to screw it on the flywheel side of the engine to adapt a V-belt which essentially drives whatever you desire.washing machine. Ice cream churn, generator. The pulley diameter is approx. 2 3/8" which corresponds with the Briggs parts manual under# 29743. I've seen(and have) plenty of little Briggs engines. However, it seems just few have these pulleys still installed.

This operating and maintenance manual(with parts catalog) was produced for Briggs& Stratton in approximately 1940. First Class Shipping will be $2.00 anywhere in the United States. Information I found on the internet: MODEL WMB- 1938-1957. 1/2 HP, 2.00" Bore, 1.50" Stroke, L-head) The Model WMB is an improved version of the WM design and is distinguished by the vertical spark plug mounting and a redesigned governor vane which is not rectangular but curved to fit the shroud. This remained the primary small engine for washing machines and other uses for many years. The WMB was used on Maytag washing machines after Maytag discontinued production of their own motors. Early versions can be identified by the external breather. Cast iron cylinder head, and the brass nameplate.

The top has some surface rust and is dented. The inside needs to be cleaned. There is some scale, dirt and rust. Comes with the original pick up tube and check ball.
