Trench oiler's as they have become known as. Have been around as long as guns. Antique guns had a lot of parts that required periodic oiling to maintain proper working condition. As guns technologies advances they still required oiling. These oiler's were the most advantages method of a solderer to carry oil. They were most communally made of brass or copper to prevent any spark during use as black powder was very combustible. This oiler is not marked as many were not. So I can't properly date it other then buy the design. WWI or earlier seems to be its correct period. It is in very good condition and no repairs or holes, there is some tarnish and the steal washer has rust. The chain and mounts are original and both threaded parts work well. It has no makers name that I can find on it anywhere. The glass measures approx. 1 1/4" in diameter at the top, and 1 3/4" tall. Overall the oiler measures approx. 5" tall. Nice Old Brass Lunkenheimer 1 1/2 Paragon Gas Engine Oiler
This auction is for an old brass Lunkenheimer paragon 1 1/2 gas engine oiler. It is complete and everything works nicely. And it does have the check valve and blow by tube. Threads are nice on the adjustment, and the hex partt on the bottom is not all marked up by wrench marks. The only thing I can see wrong with this, is that it has a small nice out of the edge on the top as you can see in the pictures, otherwise, nice old oiler. Please see pictures. Old Buckeye #1 Brass Hit and Miss Gas Steam Engine Oiler Train Tractor Magneto
This is a very hard to find original#1 brass oiler made by the Buckeye Brass Works in Dayton. Ohio. It's in decent but not perfect condition for being well over 100 years old. It measures about 1 3/4 inches in diameter and about 5 inches tall. Everything works as it should. It is missing two small wood knobs but these would be fun to make on a lathe or should be available at your local hobby supply store. It has 3/8 inch pipe threads that are a little suspect where they start but are good where they need to be and tighten down just fine. This oiler has minor wrench marks and blemishes here and there but still displays pretty nicely. The worst blemishes are the chisel marks on the mounting hex. I think this would be quite easy to remedy but putting it in a chuck and milling a smaller hex on it. It would look just fine then. It is a very ... moreunique oiler and would look great on your early gas or steam engine or other piece of machinery. The pictures tell the story. With a little elbow grease it will be pretty nice. Presented for your consideration is this Antique Steam Governor Stationary Traction Oilfield Farm Hit& Miss Engine. This unit came from a steam engine dealer/ collectors estate and it was labeled as a Gardner however I can not assure you of this information. The markings that I can locate appear to be a patent date of"DEC 27 1883" It turns ok and looks to be in good working condition. This is a large governor that stands 19" tall overall. The balls are 2 1/2" diameter. Gears are good. The adjustment turns and is not stuck. Belt drive pulley is 2 7/8" diameter overall with a 2 5/8" wide belt width. Original Penberthy SUREDROP Hit Miss Gas Engine Brass Oiler Steam Tractor NICE
This is a decent original Penberthy"SUREDROP" oiler for a hit and miss gas engine. Steam engine, or other piece of machinery. It is in good used condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs of any kind. It needs a little cleaning, new glasses and gaskets but that's the fun part. It is not marked but is undoubtedly a SUREDROP because of the base. It is about 2 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches tall overall. It has 3/8 inch pipe threads and they are in great shape. There are some wrench marks on the hex which would buff out a bit if you so choose. It has a vent tube and a check ball so this was originally for the cylinder of a gas engine. It is missing the filler cap which is likely available quite inexpensively from several of the hobby suppliers. This is a high quality brass oiler that hardly ever comes up for sale. Lonergan Brass Hit Miss Gas Engine Cream Separator Oiler Steam Tractor NICE!
This is an original Lonergan brass right angle oiler for a hit and miss engine. Cream separator, or other piece of machinery. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs of any kind. It needs a little cleaning and probably new gaskets but that's the fun part. It has most of its nickel plating on it yet and will polish up nicely. It has just enough wear to give it character. It is marked Lonergan on the top on and it is 1 7/8 inches in diameter and 4 5/8 inches tall. It has 9/16 inch machine threads on it with a jam nut and they are in great shape. Vintage Used Essex Brass Corp. Drip Oiler Size 7 with Single Feed 4.5" Diameter
This used Essex Model Number 377 Size 7 Multiplex Sight Feed Lubricator came from a factory were it was parts replacement inventory. It is mostly complete. Of unknown age, used, but in very good condition. Made for the automatic lubrication of industrial machinery and is activated by a continuous duty solenoid. By adjusting the thumb screw and looking at the sight glass you can meter the oil drip as desired. The reservoir has a one quart oil capacity that is filled through a 1/2" ID threaded hole with matching threaded cap. Cap has a hole machined though to prevent vacuum formation and is retained by a wire lanyard that prevents it's loss. Output is through a 1/8" ID flared pipe fitting. It is, of course, mounted vertically to the equipment by the 3/8" National Pipe threaded stud that is opposite the drip adjustment screw ... morewith the included brass nut. The original 460 VAC solenoid's molded plastic body is split from age so it may not work. If you should want a different voltage, it takes a solenoid with a 5/8" hole and is no larger than 2" in diameter. On top, it is marked"ESSEX BRASS CORP. DETROIT 34, MICH. U-S-A" On solenoid housing, marked"ESSEX MULTIPLEX MODEL 377 ELECTRIC AUTOMATIC LUBRICATOR ESSEX BRASS CORP. DETROIT 34 MICHIGAN, U.S.A. Brass has some wear, paint and a heavy patina; no attempt has been made to clean or polish it. Main glass has no cracks and one very minor chip on the inside at the edge. Unit is missing the sight feeder glass and all the cork composition gaskets. Only issue I find with it is that there needs to be a thin spacer between the reservoir top and the nut under the coil body, as it is now the reservoir fill cap hasn't enough room to come all the way out for filling. 12" overall length x 4 1/2" diameter. 4# 12 oz actual weight; 9# estimated shipping weight. Starr Brass Mfg. Co Boston Mass#6? OILER LUBRICATOR I'm listing these for a friend. She has oilers and old tools that I'll be listing as she goes through her basement. The oiler looks to be in great shape. The glass on the top and bottom look to be perfect. I'm only dusting these off, I don't want to clean them too much and lose any of their original condition. I'm not sure if these were ever used. The oiler width is 4.25 inches. The height can be seen in the photo with the ruler. Not sure if this is a NO6, there is a 6 stamped into the bottom of the oiler as seen in the last photo. Looks like there our other stampings in other parts of the base. I only notice them when I enlarge the photos, their a little to worn to make out. Someone did write TG.DD on the bottom of the wood base, I'm not sure if it pertains to the ... moreoiler. For sale is a Vintage Brass/Glass Oiler Detroit Lubricator Co. 605 Drip Oiler Hit Miss Engine PAT'D 3-30-15. This piece appears to be in great condition cosmetically but mechanically I don't know how to test it. The glass is in great condition with no cracks or chips but it does has approx. a 3/8" long scratch in it(hard to see in pics) It is constructed of brass and glass measuring approximately 6 1/2" long x 3" diameter. Nickeled brass, USGI type II oiler, for springfield 1903, M1 Garand, or 1917
This auction is for a USGI. Post WWI to early WWII, type II oiler, with a USGI brass cleaning thong from the same period. This oiler is correct for all post World War I Springfield 1903 rifles as well as prewar and later, M1 Garands, and also Enfield 1917's. The nickel finish on the oiler tube is about 75% intact. Which is very good for an item of this age(see pictures) and there just a couple of extremely small dings. The leather on the end cap and leather washer on the oiler cap are very good, and the caps are tight. This will make a great addition to any 1903. M1917, or M1 Garand buttstock.

Old Brass Wilkinson Sandwich Domestic Hit Miss Gas Engine Oiler Steam Tractor
This is a nice original Wilkinson brass oiler. These were used on high quality hit and miss gas engines like Domestic and Sandwich from the factory. Both glasses are good. The filler cover is intact and the threads are good. It needs a little cleaning but that's the fun part! It measures about 8-1/2" long. About 3-3/4" in diameter and has 1/4" pipe thread. If this is what you've been needing, don't take a chance and pass it up! These large Wilkinsons are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! The pictures really tell the story. Brass oil bottle marked efd[enfield] with war dept arrow issued with lee enfield rifles for oiling the moving parts and keeping a clean barrel oiler spoon connected to screw lid. First issued in world war one and into world war 2 when copper shortages caused it to be made in plastic. Original and now anywhere between 100 and 75 years old they are in fact antiques of the great wars and might have the odd small dint but of course they could be the dints of flanders or the rhone! I have cleaned these a bit being ex military and fire brigade[ its an ingrained thing] so if you want to see them gleam like the old sargnt major did in ww1 just add elbow grease or if you want a mucky one just ask! Combined with british army issue.303 pullthru for all.303 weapons including 9mm sterling smg. never issued to the men so are new and pristine. so buy it ... morenow
