Here is a nice antique vintage BRASS Steam Engine Oiler made by POWELL Cincinnati Ohio. You can see some of the lettering remaining but most worn off. Nice brass some staining from age. There are 2 GLASS areas both are intact with no breaks. Very nice old piece also marked 1 1/2. For auction I have a Brass AMERICAN INJECTOR Co. HIT MISS STEAM ENGINE OILER#3 w/ Glass Sight 5/8" pipe fitting. The glass itself measures 3/16" thick and does have a crack in it. It must have been used with this crack as there is oil between the glass in the crack itself. There is no gaskets for giving it a tight seal. It measures 6 1/4" tall x 2 1/2" across. Up for bid is a Madison Kipp Model 50 Sight Feed Machine Lubricator. The last patent date is July 1. 1913. It cranks as it should, has scratches, minor dings, and paint loss. The plastic sight window on the top is yellowed and cracked on one side. The glass fill level tube is not broken. Please ask any questions you might have. 5 Brass Sight Glasses Lunkenheimer Gas Engine Steam Tractor
Here is a batch of 5 brass sight glasses. The 3 smaller ones are marked Lunkenheimer. The one with the valve is complete and the valve turns nicely. The second of the three is complete but does not have a brass shield. The third on does not have the glass. All of these 3 smaller ones have good 1/4" pipe threads. One of the 2 larger ones is marked American Lubricator. it has 1/4" pipe threads that are good. The other one is not marked and needs a top nut. The pipe thread is 3/8" All five of these sight glasses are usable after giving them a little TLC. Buy more than one item and I'll pack together IF space allows. To save you shipping costs. 4 Brass Sight Glassses Lunkenheimer Essex Gas Engine Steam Tractor
These four sight glasses are all brass. The two with the valves have never been used and have Lunkenheimer stamped on the valve knob. They need gaskets in the glasses. They are in nice condition with no damage. Both have 1/4" pipe threads and are 3-1/2" high. Another glass has 1/4" pipe thread and Lunkenheimer is stamped on the top. It needs a glass and is used and needs a polishing. The fourth glass is marked Essex on the top. The glass is good. The 1/4" pipe threads are good. This needs cleaning also and is 4" tall. The glass is missing from both of these and they are marked up as shown. The other brass one is marked Lunkenheimer on the top. This has the glass but it is cracked. There is also white paint on it as shown. This has a 5 1/16" pipe diameter.The last two are made of aluminum and are marked GITS 9530. These are 3 3/8" high and have 5 16" pipe holes. Nice little sight glass. Overall good useable condition. Normal surface wear from age and use, will probably need new gaskets before use. I'm not sure of the original intended use, tractor, steam engine I'm guessing. Stamped ILL, Illinois? The ports look to be 1/4" pipe thread. Very nice brass sight feed oiler. This oiler is in excellent condition. I couldn't find any name on the oiler. This has an inline feed connection. It looks like 3/8 inch diameter tubing would be the OD. The lower sight glass is good with no chips or cracks. Everything works and moves as it should. This oiler has 1/4 inch female pipe threads. These two Sight Glasses do not appear to have been used. I call them used because each of the glasses is chipped on one end(Pic. 8& 10) The glass is not cracked all the way through. The glass tube is 3/4" in diameter and 4 1/4" long. The brass tube(outside) thread is a tad shy of 7/8" The tube is 3 1/2" long and the glass housing is 4 1/2" long. Antique Vintage Boiler Blow Down Valve and Site Glass Manifold Assembly. For restoration parts or artistic manifestation. There is no sight glass tube. I broke it, trying to remove it. Tube packing nuts are functional now. Outside diameter of sight glass shows 11/16" Weight 35 pounds. 27" long. Main body of cylinder is 3- 3/4" diameter. Bottom sight glass valve is full of sediment and froze up. Top valves turn proper. One of the blow down valves only turns a half a turn. The other two turn proper. Large Steel Oiler w/ Sight Glasses Gas Engine Steam Tractor
This large steel oiler has a good 1/2" pipe thread. The top drip rate knob works good. The oil filler cap turns nicely. The tank is 3-1/4" dia and 5" tall. From the top to the bottom of whole oiler is 9-1/2" There is part of a decal on the side but I can't make out what it said. There are 2 drip rate sight glasses on the bottom. Both good not broken. VINTAGE BRASS HIT & MISS STEAM ENGINE SIGHT GLASS OILER MARKED 1 1/2
This vintage brass oiler is in great used condition. It is rare to find both pieces of glass still in the piece and this one has both! The top glass has one very small chip init.The brass base is marked 1 1/2 and that is the only marks I see.This is an awesome display item as the brass is in nice condition also. The oiler itself measures about 4 3/8" tall.
