Old American Lubricator 1/3 Pint Hit Miss Gas Engine Oilfield Oiler Steam NICE!!
This is a very hard to find original American Lubricator 1/3 pint oiler. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except that the glass is broken. Replacements are available quite inexpensively from several of the hobby suppliers. The oiler has both original wood knobs on it. It has 3/8 inch threads that are in excellent condition. There are VERY minor wrench marks on the mounting hex. Everything seems to work as it should. The oiler has very nice original patina and would look great on an original engine! It has a vent tube inside the reservoir which means that it was made to lubricate the cylinder of a gas engine. The oiler stands about 9 1/2 inches tall overall. These 1/3 pint oilers are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they really set an engine off very nicely. The ... morepictures tell the story on this one. March 21, 1882 Swift Lubricator Co. Elmira N.Y. Serial# 179116 Excellent condition! THIS OILER SHOWS NO SIGNS OF USE– It could be unused. Measures about 10-1/2" total height. Reservoir is about 2" in diameter and 4" tall. Sight glass and rubber gasket are both in good condition Reservoir cap handle is wood and still has original finish(see photos) The adjuster valve has a brass T handle. Parts are free to turn and all threads are perfect No broken or missing parts Weighs about 2.5 Lbs No attempt has been made to clean or disassemble this piece– it is 100% as found. The oiler appears to be brass and is marked Detroit Lubricator, Co. 601 1/2, Patd. 3-30-15. Its in good condition and the glass is not cracked or chipped. Here I go again with another offering from my multi-generational farm estate that is for one of the largest oilers for a hit miss engine that is a FULL QUART drip oiler for a hit and miss engine made by the Michigan Lubricator co of Detroit Mich. It measures 13" high by 6 1/2" wide and is 4" deep or diameter. It is all brass and signed by the maker and also Ohio Brass who supplied the brass for the making of piece. As you can see from the pictures the glass tubes are out on both sides but I understand these are not hard to replace amonst the people who know hit and miss engines. Its a gran-daddy and I have never seen one this big which leads me to believe it was to a larger commercial or heavy engine. Michigan Lubricator Hit and Miss Gas Engine Oiler with Elbow and Screw Feed !!
Unusually shaped Michigan Lubricator. Patented June 19- 88 with screw type adjustment on the feed mechanism. As you can see in the photos this oiler has an elbow built into it. It appears to be in good working condition. The only other mark I can find on the oiler is the number 402 near the threads on the end of the elbow. Manzel Force Feed Lubricator for Steam Traction Engine. Lg Gas Engine Hit & Miss
This Manzel Force Feed Lubricator Model 94D with 3 large brass pumps(partially nickel plated) was manufactured by Manzel Brothers Company. Buffalo, NY. The lubricator appears to operate fine using the hand crank. There is surface rust. Primarily on the top plate with its filler cap and adjustable screws, etc. the mounting flanges, and the hand crank. The four sides are mostly free of rust. The oil reservoir is dry, so there is just a little bit of surface rust inside, not affecting operation. One of the three tubular guards that keep the cams lined up with the pumps is bent slightly- an easy fix. I have taken off the top of the lubricator to show the inside condition in the photos. The two tiny screw holes on the right hand of the top plate do not line up with the base. The top plate is 9-5/8" x 5-3/4" The height to the top of the ... moreplate is 6-1/2" The overall height is 12" The overall width is 15-1/2" The lubricator weighs close to 22 pounds. Not including considerable packing if shipped. The lubricator appears complete and operable. This will be a beautiful functional lubricator with the brass pumps polished. Or would make a great display item. I have two steam engines that take Manzel force feed lubricators, but they are single feed so I don't need this one.
