Old Original Galloway Hit Miss Gas Engine Muffler Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler
This is a very nice original muffler for a Galloway hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter and about 2 3/8 inches thick. It is 9 inches long overall and has 3/4inch pipe threads and they are in perfect condition. This muffler is ready to be used on a nice original or put on the shelf for a spare. The pictures tell the story. They certainly don't turn up very often and they just don't get much nicer. Old Original Alamo Empire Rock Island Hit Miss Gas Engine Muffler Steam Tractor
This is a super original cast iron muffler for an Alamo. Empire, Rock Island, Cockshutt, or other hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It measures about 7 3/4 inches in diameter and about 4 1/4 inches"thick" It has 1 1/4 inch pipe threads. The part numbers are 4074 and 4075. The only flaw that I've noticed is two of the rivets holding the halves together are loose. These could easily be peened a bit and tighten right up. These original mufflers are very hard to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one to complete your authentic restoration, here's your chance. HERCULES ECONOMY 5hp or 7hp MUFFLER Hit and Miss Old Gas Engine
Here is and original muffler that is for a Hercules or Economy engine. I think it is for a 5hp or 7hp size engine. The threads appear to have been repaired by being brazed and then re-cut. This is an excellent repair as originally these mufflers had a pipe nipple cast into them. Over time the pipe nipple can unscrew from the muffler leaving a hole with very rough threads. This repair was done very nicely and cannot be seen when the muffler is on the engine. It is in great shape and ready to use. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. The muffler measures about 4 1/2 inches long and about 3 1/4 inches in diameter with a 1 1/8 inch diameter bore. The screw is not original. A hard to find part to finish that restoration. No cracks. Stationary hit miss gas engine ball type muffler Associated stover?
I have for auction this original ball shaped muffler. It fits a stationary hit miss gas engine of around 1.5 or 2hp. I am not sure what it fits but looks similar to Stover or associated engines. It has a piece missing on the edge of the muffler. It is about 6" across. The pipe on it looks like 1/2" size. It is rusty but just needs a cleaning and some paint and your engine. Buyer pays shipping and I will calculate shipping after the auction.
