The only parts needed to complete the cart are common 3/4" pipe for the axle, engine mounting rails, nuts and bolts. Cast iron will give an antique look many prefer over fabricated strap steel and help your engine really stand out at the next show. Antique Hit and Miss Gas Engine or Steam Engine Cast Iron Clutch Pulley.
This auction is for an antique clutch pulley for a steam or Hit and Miss engine. It is 9" in Diameter and the belt face is 6 1/2" wide. It looks like it will fit a Shaft that is 1 1/4" in Diameter. It is all free and all of the pieces fit together well. The Roller Bearings appear to be in good condition. It is cast iron and is very heavy. It has the words cast into it"Patent(PPLD? For Twin Disc Clutch Racine. WI. I only see 1 clutch lining disc, but it looks like it should be easy to find another. It looks like it has been dinged up around the shaft hole, but I don't think it would affect the operation of it. I have never used a clutch like this, so I don't know much about it. This is a matched set of 4 antique CAST IRON WHEELS. 6 spoke. They are approx. 8" diameter, 1" axle size, 1-7/8" axle depth and wheel face is 1-5/8" wide. I did not find any name nor number and I left them as found. You could shine them up or leave them original which is pretty cool. There is one spoke on one wheel with a crack. Sometimes known as the"Sidewinder" The pulley measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter X 1 1/2 inches wide with a 1 1/8 inch diameter bore. Unfortunately someone made the set screw access hole into a slot to start the engine with a rope. Which actually is a very practical idea. The set screw threads are very good. No cracks. Old Original Antique Hit & Miss Maytag Upright Cast Iron Cylinder Old Gas Engine
Good original Maytag upright cast iron cylinder. The external portion of this cylinder is in very good condition with no chipped or broken fins. The bore is not as nice. However. I believe it is a good usable part. I do not have a hone to fit this cylinder. I took emery clothe to clean it up some. There are some rust pits in a small area on about the first inch of the bore. I'm not sure, but I don't believe the rings come down this far. There is also some rust pitting on the mounting flange. The threads for the spark plug and exhaust are in excellent condition. This cylinder came with the early upright parts that I currently have on eBay. If for some reason you don't agree and are not happy with the cylinder, I will be happy to return your money and shipping.
