For auction is this RBA-3 VLF LF Radio Receiving Equipments. It has a range of 15 to 600 KC. KC is the same as KH. It consists of the CFT-46154 RADIO RECEIVER and the CRV-20130 RECTIFIER POWER UNIT. The unit was rebuilt by the Navy in AUG 1959.This radio was used to communicate with submarines in the 1940s and 50s because the VLF LF signal would reach the subs when it was submerged. This radio could be used by the hams to explore the VLF/LF bands.This radio in more recent times is being used to study how solar flares effect the earths atmosphere. I even read of a study that suggested by monitoring changes in the vlf radio waves could serve as a predictor for earthquakes. The radio physically is in great shape.
