This is a VERY rare item and supposedly there has only been about 50 units worldwide of this imaging device. It could be mounted onto a helmet to provide VIRTUAL REALITY-like mounted IR vision. It is unusual in that it has AMAZING IR resolution(320x240= 76800 pixels) for the price unlike most devices in this price range at AMAZING REFRESH RATE. What blows away most of the units(even those way more expensive) is the Hz refresh rate suited for real time reality walking in super dangerous conditions! It is made for either a thermal imager or some sort of near/mid IR detector. The focal length appears to be about 1cm and the lens diameter is about 13mm. The lens makes an image that is visible on my night vision intensifier tubes. But will not make an image visible on normal CCD imge chips. Since part of it silicon it will cut off wavelengths shorter than about 1.3um making it quite useful as a detection lens for erbium glass 1.5um and other longer wavelength lasers.
