There appears to be a problem with ... morethe CRT focus because It will not show the RF Modulation waves clearly. The intensity knob has to be all the way up for the CRT to show anything. On the bottom you will see that there is a foot missing and it sits a little un level. I have no way to test it's functions or capabilities. There is a speaker inside that can be heard just fine and I see some waves on the readout. When I adjust some buttons the waves change so it appears to function somewhat in different modes. Turning the Horizontal and Vertical knobs doesn't move the modulation on the CRT. To me it seems like a mostly a parts unit but someone good at electronics repair might make a gem out of it. Being sold AS IS. See pictures so you can see the item is in poor condition Was used by State Department and has not been calibrated in years. Ships as seen in the pictures. Has a top cover with no inside plate and no power cord. The missing power cord has a special end and I cannot find one to purchase. You are bidding on an IFR FM/AM 1600S COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE MONITOR. I dont know a lot about how to operate this. I can tell you it powers up and when you do the self test it fails but when you do it individually it passes everything until it gets to 24 which is auxiliary box which I am guessing is because there isn't one. It has some wear and the top part of the monitor is lighter which you can see in the first picture. Other than that if you have any questions please feel free to ask ask I am selling this as-is. You are bidding on a very clean IFR FM/AM-1500. I suspect that this CSM only saw bench use as it is in exceptionally clean condition. It tests out OK to the best of my ability. Please see photos of spectrum analyzer. Generate mode, receive mode and tracking generator mode in operation. A photo of an example cable fault test is also shown. The analyzer passes self test and no indication of any problems are present. It has an TCXO master oscillator installed. I am not sure if this is an option or if it is standard equipment. The only known problem with this piece of equipment is that there are a few segments missing in the center of the LCD display. They do not affect the normal operation of the equipment. Used IFR FM/AM 1000S Communications Spectrum Analyzer Service Monitor. Powers up and looks to be working somewhat. There appears to be a problem with the CRT focus because It will not show the RF Modulation waves clearly. The intensity knob has to be all the way up for the CRT to show anything. On the bottom you will see that there is a foot missing and it sits a little un level. I have no way to test it's functions or capabilities. There is a speaker inside that can be heard just fine and I see some waves on the readout. When I adjust some buttons the waves change so it appears to function somewhat in different modes. Turning the Horizontal and Vertical knobs doesn't move the modulation on the CRT. To me it seems like a mostly a parts unit but someone good at electronics repair might make a gem out of it. This auction is for a Aeroflex TS-4317 also known by the commercial model name IFR FM/AM-1600S 400Khz to 1Ghz AM FM PM SSB. This unit is the true military version with the DC power option and autoranging AC input. This unit has been updated/upgraded to the LCD display version which also updates the video output connector to the more current standard VGA output. The upgrade included a brand new front panel and also updated the firmware to the later and more current TS-4317 version which is still in use for military applications. This firmware retains all of the two way signaling capability but removes the now obsolete cellular test options. The upgrade also included a number of other new internal parts to complete the display upgrade.
