You have to use the charging cradle, other than that the camera works perfectly, not sure why it's doing it, but after googling it, it could be the Battery. Either way everything works great. This item is a small silicon and sapphire aspheric detector lens. It is made of silicon with a sapphire optical element as well. It is made for either a thermal imager or some sort of near/mid IR detector. The focal length appears to be about 1cm and the lens diameter is about 13mm. The lens makes an image that is visible on my night vision intensifier tubes. But will not make an image visible on normal CCD imge chips. Since part of it silicon it will cut off wavelengths shorter than about 1.3um making it quite useful as a detection lens for erbium glass 1.5um and other longer wavelength lasers. Up for sale is a non-working FLIR/FSI Prism DS Thermal Camera. Which I will explain my theory about what it needs to work properly again, along with the following accessories: First. Everything is in excellent cosmetic condition, lenses included. No scratches on either lenses and the 30lb Pelican-style case is probably the only thing with scuffs on it. Everything else appears to be almost new looking. Second. When powering on, it is supposed to go through the process of cooling down an internal component, but instead it makes a sound like a small motor running without a muffler and then proceeds to get quiet, but never shows an image through the viewfinder. Now, according to the manual, it doesn't show an image until the camera has finished cooling down whatever component it is(referenced in manual but I forgot) so if I had to guess I'd ... moresay it either needs a new cooling component, or more likely, just needs some new coolant fuel. I really think it's the latter of the two, and all the buyer will need to do is get some more Nitrogen or whatever it is and refill the cooler via the little port. Okay.
