EG&G PARC FieldCorr Portable Corrosion Analyzer For sale- a EG&G Princeton Applied Research FieldCorr Portable Corrosion Analyzer. I have seen other corrosion analyzers referred to as a Potentiostat. And in fact I bought a Pine Instruments Bipotentiostat at the same auction, probably from the same university department. This one doesn’t have Potentiostat as part of the model label but it does have a switch to operate as a Potentiostat or a Galvanostat. So I have used both in the title for the search engines. But I have no idea how this unit would operate. As you can see it consists of a briefcase mounted 286 computer with keyboard and 3 ½” floppy drive. During the boot up it runs diagnostics as you can see in the pictures. It FAILS CMOS Battery and CMOS Checksum. Given the vintage the battery failure is to be expected I would ... morethink and apparently the Checksum error is related to the dead battery and not hard to resolve. It passes all the other self tests. But then at the bottom says there is an Equipment Configuration Error, and to Run Setup. I chose not to get into the Setup mode since I have no idea what I am doing. The analyzer came with two disks. Pictured, perhaps one of them is a boot disk and should have been installed when it was powered up. Not going to try that either. And no doubt it is looking for some sort of sample sensor or cell to be attached to the one cable included and pictured(other than the AC cord) So perhaps that is the source of the error. Despite the errors noted the unit still appears to boot up just fine. And I was able to toggle through a few menus as pictured. That is the extent of my testing and NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.
