Vintage GE 1828 Current Limiting High Potential Diael Tester Very Rare
Up for auction. Your consideration is an Vintage Model G.E. 1828 High Potential Tester 0-3.5 Kilovolts. Please examine all information, examine and review all the pictures, and ask questions before bidding on this tester. This tester is ultra extremely rare and hard to find in any condition, this one still works and was tested in a limited fashion and it does work. Just GOOGLE this tester and see if you can find anything about it and if anyone has one of theses in a working condition. This is only the second one on eBay as of when this tester was listed. I will disclose all the information that I have on this tester. The Good points: It has been in my possession for many years. The power on light. Lights up like it is supposed to. The Positive power/test leak is in really great shape. No breaks or cuts or burns in it anywhere. The ground ... moreconnection terminal is in good shape it tightens and loosens by hand as it is supposed to. The calibration sticker is still in tack on the adjustment of the analog meter. There are no cracks breaks or missing pieces on the front analog meter of this tester. The power ON/OFF switch does work. And give positive feedback when you move it from one position to another. All the front markings on the face are readable by the user and can be easily identified. It does work. I plugged it in. The power light comes on, the Voltage on the meter does adjust when you move the dial, and when you test a cable for shorts, it does light up the special corona indicator light in the upper left hand side of the front panel. The Bad points: I am unable to fully test all of the capabilities of this tester. The power cord is old and brittle and showings it's age. There are no cuts or breaks in it. But there is a coating of material on it and it is not as flexible as it is supposed to be, and it should be replaced. The top handle looks to be original.
