This is a nice american optical AO Spencer microstar microscope. I believe it is a series 20. But examine the pictures to judge yourself. It has the binocular head. It is missing the eye pieces and 3 of the objectives, it comes with one 10x objective. The part of the mechanical stage the holds the slide is also missing(the stage itself moves fine) It has the fancy illuminator with multiple filter holders as well as the condenser. You will also need the power supply for this(model 2051) Other than the missing items, a couple inventory tags, and some labeling it is in good shape. I was going to restore it but haven't gotten around to it so it must go. Sold as-is for parts or repair only. American Optical AO Spencer Microscope Model 20 with Light and Power
AO Spencer Microscope Model 20 with Working Light You are bidding on a very nice and complete infinity corrected American Optical. AO Spencer Model 20 microscope with working light and power transformer. These AO microscopes were used and some still in use in labs, research facilities, hospitals and schools. They were well built and built to last with mostly metal construction and metal gears/knobs. They can be configured for a wide variety of lighting techniques such as Darkfield, Phase, Fluoro, POL, DIC as well as Brightfield. This scope is fitted with a binocular head which has IPD adjustment as well as a diaoptar adjustment and fitted with a pair of AO 10X WF Cat 176 eyepieces. Both eyepieces are clear but one has a small chip on the very edge, which does not affect viewing. There is a four objective turret with the following AO infinity ... moreobjectives: 10X NA 0.25, 20X NA 0.50, 45X NA 0.66 and 100X NA 1.25 oil immersion. The turret rotates nicely with positive stops at each objective. The coarse and fine focus are smooth and rotate freely. There is a double layered mechanical stage with slide holders which moves nicely in the X/Y direction. There is an AO 1.25 NA Aspheric condenser with diaphragm and auxillary lense for use on lower power objectives. The diaphragm opens and closes nicely and the condenser moves up and down as it should. The base has two(2) five position filter wheels which rotate nicely with positive stops at each filter. There are five filters included(as shown) with room for three more. The left and right adjustments move smoothly as they should. There is also a field lens with diaphragm and the diaphragm opens and closes as it should with the lever at the front. Lighting is with a 12V 100W halogen power source with working bulb and power transformer as shown and the light adjustment knob in the back works as it should.
