A nice Wild M5. That I've used for about five years; selling because I've just acquired a Wild M8(with d-f base! This equipment has a(rare) dark-field base- with a trans-illumination option. The eyepieces are x15, but not Wild. Included(but not on the pics) is an epi-illumination lamp, whose arm fits on a ring that sits above the objective. The little fan has a separate mains-plug-in transformer instead of getting its juice from the lamp voltage(as originally) the lamp is a 12v 50w QI bulb under a(cracked but effective) heat filter, fed by banana plugs(I'm happiest with 6-9v) The glass circle stage has a cracked edge, but nearly all of the area is fine. I have been using it to view(among other things. my continuing cultures of Amoeba proteus. Smooth clean zoom and optics in good alignment; recently cleaned scope and coaxial light and beam splitter; Leica 10445111 10X/21B eyepieces with built-in eyeguards. In very nice condition; With the 1X Plan objective the base zoom magnification is 6-31X; the 1.5X coaxial attachment increases that to 9-46X. The 6v 20W halogen light housing has been adapted to an AO power supply. And works quite well providing a range in illumination intensity and contrast effects with minor adjustments of the light within the housing. NOTE: the 1X objective has a small dot nick in it. This is a used vintage microscope camera + Photoautomat which appears in good condition. It comes as shown. Together with the instructions manual and power lead. I have been unable to test the camera operations as I do not have the appropriate 35mm film. But I know that the photoautomat powers up. It does not have a focusing telescope. Although I feel confident that it is fully operational. I can not offer any guarantee. Therefore it is sold as is. The Wild Leitz MPS 46/52 Photoautomat is a dedicated camera for photomicrography. Which uses 35mm film. This M20 is currently setup for incident light illumination and is capable of darkfield. And brightfield microscopy. The light source for the illuminator has been converted to a fiber optic source and the light source pictured is included. It also has two 360 degree rotatable polarizers both in the light path and an analyzer polarizer. Four EPI objectives 4X, 10X, 20X, and 40X are included with n.a. values ranging from 0.10 to 0.65. The frame and head are a newer version of the Swiss made, M20 microscope both in excellent condition. The paint is nearly flawless with good shine. The EPI illuminator is from an older M20 scope and cosmetically not nearly as nice as the frame but it does function properly. Both irises in this illuminator move with the condenser iris sticking just a bit. Polarizers are in great shape, rotate well and no delamination. ... moreMechanical controls all work as they should with condenser focus, Fine and course focus and mechanical stage movements all smooth and functional. Stage is oversize with about 4” of movement in both X and Y directions and includes a glass insert. Objectives are generally in good shape with the only flaw I could find in the front lens of the 10X objective where there is some etching of the glass. It’s significant enough to effect image quality but still very useable. Other flaws are significant oxidation of the chrome on the objective turret(see photos) and paint degradation on the lens assembly of the base illuminator lens housing(this lens also is losing its AR coating) This microscope also has a 1.4 NA condenser(an old Nikon I believe) so with the addition of the in base illuminator it could also do transmission microscopy. My overall assessment would be a nice very useable microscope as is with some room for fixing-up/upgrading. In addition to PayPal I also accept checks with shipment delay until check clears. I would qualify the condition of this unit as fair to need some attention. All the moving parts seem to function and can see through the lenses fine. However upon visual inspection i noticed warehouse yellowing and when i look through the bottom lens i noticed rust spots inside. So this will need a good professional clean up.
