Vintage c.1960's Olympus EH/FH Compound Research Microscope with Light Source Purchased at academic surplus auction. Maufactured by Olympus in Tokyo. Japan c.1960's. Although the body is labelled EH, it appears to be the body style of the FH model. This microscope is in excellent working condition. A real workhorse. It has a focusable condensor. Adjustible light intensity, and a gear-driven XY mechanical stage. The 5-place turret is equipped with 4 Plan Apochromat objectives: 4X- 0.10 na 10X- 0.25 na 40X- 0.65 na 100X Spring-loaded oil- 1.30 na The oculars are 10X wide-field. This unit is in good cosmetic condition but I was not able to test it due to lack of power supply. Unit is from a university surplus. I used a 9 and a 12 colt dc power supply to test it but nothing comes on and i dont know what voltage of power supply it takes. The lamp comes with the unit bu it has a totally different power source. it has a lumina scanning system and nikon dx-d82 35mm camera. No cosmetic issue other than regular wears. no cracks or or gross mark. Once again i tried to power this up with 2 DC power supplies and i got nothing. This is a Leica DMRB microscope set up for transmission microscopy. Recently cleaned and checked out so everything works as it should. It has a phase condenser but only the 10X objective is a phase type. This objective does produce very nice phase contrast enhancement so the purchaser may desire to add additional phase objectives which occasionally appear on ebay. Additionally. Four fluorescence cubes are included in the four position turret above the objectives. However at this time this microscope lacks the light control module and HBO light source to allow proper florescence microscopy( these are also occasionally sold on ebay) Optics are in good condition, no scratches or damaged lenses.
