Olympus CK2 Inverted Phase Contrast Microscope. In used, but fantastic shape. I originally purchased this on eBay, with three amazing objectives, for $2500. It's extremely clean and well maintained. Apart from a few dings on the dial faceplate and rub marks on the table, it appears and functions perfectly. The main body has been capped when stored, and the objectives in separate cases, all of which was stored in a climate controlled environment; my living quarters(I'm a non-smoker. The table extension is attached. The mechanical stage and specimen holder operate smoothly, with no backlash. The eyepieces were original, and they were too worn for my liking. So, I connected with a reputable dealer and got hold of a pair of Japanese made(around the time microscope was made) eyepieces that looked like new. Tiyoda Tokyo Hi eye M10. They ... moreare pristine, and made a fine match. I'll include the original eyepieces by Olympus. Soon after, I purchased the 40x SPLAN PL objective for $500. I don't have the insert for the phase slider. This never came standard with the microscope, and it's in fine shape, the optics are bright and clear. The Trinocular works perfectly, and the mechanism is smooth. I went ahead and put on the 20X LWD objective, attached a Canon 20D camera, scraped some cheek cells from inside my mouth, and placed it on a petri dish with a few drops of water. see photo) I was able to bring out details from within the nucleus; chromatin fibers around the nucleolus. These are living cells, and you can see all kinds of structures by manipulating the phase slider. It's working fine, and I'm sure someone that knows how to use this could make it sing.
