The head and eyepiece lenses are in good shape and the optics are clear and not scratched or fogged. There are 3 objectives and they are all in good condition with the types as follows: 16mm x10. 4mm 43x and 18mm 97x oil. The stage is in good condition and the control knob works well and adjusts smoothly. The condenser is in good condition but the control knob for the condenser adjustment is hard to turn although it does work. The objective mount is pitted(see picture 10) but it swivels and locks into place. This unit does not have a lamp/illuminator assembly. Item is sold as described. I have an AO Spencer Stereo Microscope which I believe is called a Cycloptic. I believe it is an"M" Series. It has an apochromatic common objective and comes with a pair of 15X W.F. eyepieces which give 5 power options- 10. 15, 20, 30, and 40 through the Magni-Changer lens system which has internal pairs of lenses or"telescopes" The scope is said to be parfocal, but small adjustments are needed for each power setting. Included is a removable Transilluminating Substage Base without the mirror that is held on by 2 screws at the back. And it comes with a Starlite Illuminator, model 651 with adjustable brightness settings. This is missing the flexible arm, bulb housing, and condenser unit. When plugged in the orange light on the front of the box lights up, but the illuminating bulb does not. The scope is also missing a circular ... moreplate for the stage. Cosmetically the scope shows some wear to the grey paint. The main problem is the 2 images don't align properly so they have to be re-aligned. Other than that all the optics look excellent. Kyowa Tokyo Stereo Microscope Model KIS-8, Case, Extra Eyepieces, Parts/Repair
This is a Kyowa. Tokyo Model KIS-8 Stereo Microscope serial number- 670842. It has a pair of Kyowa 8X eyepieces and 3 double objectives marked- 1X, 3X, and 6X. They all look clean and clear. The eyepiece mounts adjust for eye separation by rotating and they are connected so rotate in opposite directions together. The objectives rotate smoothly and click stop solidly. The focus turns a little stiff so probably needs cleaned and re-lubricated. The stage has a black and white reversible round plate and both retainer clips. The problem is the eyepiece prism housings are missing screws that hold the tops on. Only 1 of the 3 it has look original and it needs at least 3 more. It sounds as though at least 1 of the prisms is loose and the dual images don't align correctly. So it probably needs the screws to hold the eyepieces in their correct ... morealignment before the image alignment can be completed. My eyes automatically pull the images together when viewing through the 1X objectives, but the 2 images get farther apart at the higher magnifications. Other than that the scope shows slight use wear. It comes with a good wood case with all 4 rubber feet attached and a pair of caps and slip-on eyepiece light shields. The case handle is there however its 2 mounts are missing. There are some old hard masking tape remnants on the case and there is no door lock key either. An inspection certificate also comes with it stating what model the scope is, optical performance and the date- 1968. So overall this is a microscope needing a little repair to use or can be used for good parts. I ship to US addresses only. No local pick up. I don't end auctions early or use Buy-it-Now. Vintage SPI microscope. Plus spare parts for parts or repair. I think it is from the 1980's. Seems to be a hard model to find item. Model 1868 made in P.R.of China. w10x-17.2mm top periscope monocular. Has a lighted base that works. Has 360 degree swiveling head. The head that holds objectives is not threading on properly. It is out of location. Has 2 objectives 10/0.25 and 40/0.65. I do not know much about microscopes but I could see thru the 10/0.25 objective and it works, I probally do not know how to use the high magnification 40/0.65 since I could see thru it but not actually ID anything. There is an open threaded hole for another objective. The pair of adjuster knobs are stiff but will move, but the table is not moving up and down. I have 3 of these SPI 1868's and can't get the table to slide on any of them, maybe I do not ... moreknow how to do it. The pair of focus knobs turn fine. Has pinhole dial shutter type light filter underside of table. Has holddown clamps on table. Made of metal for the frame. Size is about 14 x 5 x 7 inches. Binocular Inverted Microscope Base with working Stage Will take Nikon 35mm Camera on front bayonett and Film camera from left side- the controls for the internal optics to switch between the two are on the right side. This unit has the condensor harness in working order. But no condensor) it swings into place and out of the way. The light housing diaphram is working. Note: There are some small screws taped the housing arm. The course and fine focus knobs turn but require some TLC to there are other adjusting knobs and they work. The objective turret is missing and other options are not included. However. This is actually a great place to start if you wish to pursue a project of this magnitude. Details from this listing: Internal Optics& glides seem to be working fine. Has binocular ... morehead with original Eye Pieces. Objectives and turret assembly are missing. Light housing is missing the bulb harness and wiring. The light housing holder is heat damaged and the light housing does not attach to it anymore. This could be the primary starting piece for a working Nikon Diaphot project microscope. There may be other issues with this unit but further testing was done. The internal areas and external detail cleaning was not done. This unit was legally aquired via a government auction. Its original owner was the University of Idaho the stickers are still in place. Nikon SMZ Quality Microscope System This Nikon SMZ microscope is an old school high quality zoom stereo body microscope that provides beautiful images. The microscope is in used condition. It was tested and the zoom is not turning and the adjustable stand is only going about half way up and down. I do not want to do something wrong so I will leave the repair up to the new owner. The scope has good clear optics and it provides a nice parfocal, aligned and focused image. There are cosmetic signs of wear on the microscope body from use(see images) but essentially clean. The last 2 photos were taken with my phones camera looking thru the microscope to show you the clarity. The microscope is mounted to a nikon adjustable stand that operates about half way. The microscope comes with 15x eye pieces. Along with the 0.8X- 4.0X zoom range. Total magnification ... morewill be 8X- 40X continuous. This scope is being sold for parts or repair only but as seen in the last 2 photos it still works optically as it should and it is priced real low so dont let it get away.
