Wild M5 stereo-microscope with dark-field base
A nice Wild M5. That I've used for about five years; selling because I've just acquired a Wild M8(with d-f base! This equipment has a(rare) dark-field base- with a trans-illumination option. The eyepieces are x15, but not Wild. Included(but not on the pics) is an epi-illumination lamp, whose arm fits on a ring that sits above the objective. The little fan has a separate mains-plug-in transformer instead of getting its juice from the lamp voltage(as originally) the lamp is a 12v 50w QI bulb under a(cracked but effective) heat filter, fed by banana plugs(I'm happiest with 6-9v) The glass circle stage has a cracked edge, but nearly all of the area is fine. I have been using it to view(among other things. my continuing cultures of Amoeba proteus. Gently used Leica GZ6 microscope with Stocker and Yale Imagelite Lightbox attachment. One of the attached pictures shows how the lightring attachment connects to the microscope. And shows it in use. This lightbox will illuminate the microscope stage. The eyepieces are 10x/22. I have attached a picture of my finger taken by putting my cell phone camera up to the eyepiece. So the quality is bad, but this is only because of the way the picture was taken. Actual eyepiece visibility is great. Items are sold AS-IS. But have been verified to work by me. You are looking at nicely equipped Leica MZ6 Microscope. It come with the ergonomic height adjustable head adapter and a perfect set of Leica 210x/21B wild eyepieces. It also comes with a base(not sure of the part number) that is equipped with 2 fiber-optic light feeds on the back for back lighting. It also comes with a 150w illuminator and a fiber-optic light-ring. Note: The system is fully operational but I like to mention anything that is wrong so that there are No Surprises. Things worth mentioning: The fiber-optic ring-light has a metallic shield that protects the fiber-optic strands and the shield has come dislodged(about 1/4 inch) from the ring(see pics) This does not affect the performance as you can simply push it back in place(see pics) Also. Up for auction is an American Optical AO Spencer Series 25 Stereo Microscope Base. The unit is in decent physical condition with some normal signs of wear including light scratches and dings. There is a small chip on the far outer part of the left ocular(the dark area on the right-inside of the ocular. Fourth photo) it seems like it wouldn't affect the performance and might not even be visible once eyepieces are installed. The glass base is gone and the elbow on the bottom is loose. No eyepieces included. This type of equipment is beyond our expertise so we may not have mentioned everything that is included or missing from the unit. I have an AO Spencer Stereo Microscope which I believe is called a Cycloptic. I believe it is an"M" Series. It has an apochromatic common objective and comes with a pair of 15X W.F. eyepieces which give 5 power options- 10. 15, 20, 30, and 40 through the Magni-Changer lens system which has internal pairs of lenses or"telescopes" The scope is said to be parfocal, but small adjustments are needed for each power setting. Included is a removable Transilluminating Substage Base without the mirror that is held on by 2 screws at the back. And it comes with a Starlite Illuminator, model 651 with adjustable brightness settings. This is missing the flexible arm, bulb housing, and condenser unit. When plugged in the orange light on the front of the box lights up, but the illuminating bulb does not. The scope is also missing a circular ... moreplate for the stage. Cosmetically the scope shows some wear to the grey paint. The main problem is the 2 images don't align properly so they have to be re-aligned. Other than that all the optics look excellent.
