The lens is a plano convex lens of very short focus and its holder has a diameter of 1.75 in(45 mm) It is in very good condition with no damage, scratches etc. and is used to focus light onto the subject being viewed and used correctly, can be a great asset in the control of lamplight or daylight. The horizontal arm fixed to the lens can be rotated through 360 degrees and to various angles by means of the ball and socket joint. Black on other Two parts unscrew apart The silver part is just a hollow tube with nothing in it. Outside diameter of silver is 23mm. The black part is 2 parts that screw together. When you take the 2 black parts apart. They each have a glass lens in them. The very top black section has a curved lens in it. The bottom half of the black part(the part that screws onto the silver part) has a glass lens in it that looks flat/not curved. One half of the black part has a brass ring on the outside, that is covered by the other black part when you screw them together. The outer diameter of the black part is 25mm.
