Very nice microscope ferom around 1910. I only have the two lens that you can see in photos.They are marked S.L. Co.X 6 and X12. The only problem I can find there is chip on the glass table. The case is perfect with out any damage. Its either Cherry or Mahogany not sure. But I have never seen one quite like this. I am not sure how old it is, but I would consider it vintage. There is no model number present. It is in fair overall physical condition. With a few small scuffs and marks here and there. The optics look to be in fair condition, with no cracks. However, there are some dust particles present in the eyepieces. I've shown a close up in the photographs. The paint is rubbed off in places and some rust has formed on the body from age. All of the parts move smoothly. Working Vintage AO Spencer Microscope 321958. ERB& and GRAY This lot includes the two objective lenses shown in the photos(an AO Spencer 4x N.A. 12 ∞. Cat. 1075, and a COOKE 5X 0-15 A3938) and the Eyepiece also shown in the photos. Using a sticky not that I wrote on with pencil I was able to resolve the graphite on the sticky note with and without a flashlight. The image quality is good but there is some dirt/particles in the lenses. The coarse adjustment knob and the fine adjustment knob both work(although I mainly used the coarse knob. The eyepieces are in exceptionally fine condition. This instrument is equipped with three objective lenses: 0.7X. 2X, and 6X. When in use with the 18X eyepieces, the total magnifications provided by this microscope are 12.6X, 36X, and 108X. There is a small chip in the glass stage which does not affect functionality; see photos. Here is a magnificent Spencer Lens Company Stereoscopic Boom Stand Microscope Model 23. Serial number 180081 places its date of manufacture in 1942. In those heydays of American manufacturing prowess and genius. Things were built to last-and here is a prime example. Anyone would be proud to own this microscope.the quality of the engineering is truly phenomenal. The horizontal and vertical boom arms are machined from solid steel(not cheap aluminum as in later-day boom stand microscopes) There are three-count'em-heavy duty rack and pinion mechanisms controlling the operations of the microscope. The focusing knobs on the microscope head are chrome. Polished to a mirror-like finish(in later years, the knobs were brushed steel, and even later, much cheaper plastic) The eyepieces are 12X wide field. Heavy, with all parts glass and metal-no ... morecheap plastic parts. In fact, you won't find any plastic parts anywhere on this microscope! The objective lenses are 1X. 2X, and 3X, yielding total magnifications with the eyepieces of 12X, 24X, and 36X. The last photo in the included series of photos is taken from an American Optical Catalog. And shows a later version of the instrument(not for sale) I have included this photo to show the range of capabilities of the microscope. Note that the later models had plastic focusing knobs! Description AO Spencer microscope I think model 1036 and power supply model 1051. Looks in great condition. The power supply works but the bulb doesn't come on. Not sure what the problem might be. Has 10x, 45x and 100x objectives. As pictured. Just what is pictured is included.

This American Optical AO Spencer Cycloptic Stereo Dissecting Microscope is from my own personal collection; I have used this microscope and it is in fine condition. The American Optical Cycloptic Microscope was introduced in 1957 and is famous for its ease of use and for the quality of its optical system. Many of these instruments are still in use today. All controls operate smoothly. As they should, and the optics are phenomenal. This Cycloptic Microscope is mounted on the Catalog#56B Base which provides both a reflecting mirror or a white background. Both the mirror and the white background are in exceptionally fine condition. The American Optical AO/Spencer Series 10 Advanced Laboratory Research Microscope is a rugged instrument which appeals to anyone with a serious interest in microscopy. The instrument being offered for sale is in excellent working condition. It comes with a pair of AO catalog#176 10X W.F. Wide Field) eyepieces. In excellent condition. The nosepiece turret has space for four objective lenses; 3 objectives are installed on this instrument, as follows: 1. 10X N.A. 0.25, catalog#1076, 2) 45X N.A. 0.66, catalog#1116, and 3) 100X oil immersion, N.A. 1.25, catalog#1079. All objective lenses are infinity corrected, as required for the AO Series 10. There is an AO dust cap installed in the nosepiece where a 4th objective lens may be inserted, if/when desired. The condenser is in excellent condition with iris diaphragm and has a N.A. of 1.25. The illuminator ... moreon this microscope is the famous#1036A. It contains a high intensity bulb and is in excellent working condition. This microscope illumination system requires a separate transformer to supply power to the bulb(transformer is not included) these transformers are common and very easily obtained on Ebay. The serial number of this instrument is 655156. The second photo in the series is a composite of photomicrographs obtained using this microscope with a digital camera-a photo was taken using each of the three objective lenses. Vintage Spencer Industrial Microscope in Original Case
For sale is a vintage Spencer industrial microscope with original leather covered dovetailed case. See pictures. The microscope has a Bausch and Lomb 10x lens on top and a Spencer 4x lens below. The microscope sits on a heavy steel stand made by Hoglund Eng. Mfg. Co. Inc. Berkeley Heights, NJ. The microscope was used to detect for imperfections in manufacturing. It is probably from the 1940s. All parts appear to be in working order. The leather on the bottom of the case is tattered. If you have any questions, please let me know.
