Here is a magnificent Spencer Lens Company Stereoscopic Boom Stand Microscope Model 23. Serial number 180081 places its date of manufacture in 1942. In those heydays of American manufacturing prowess and genius. Things were built to last-and here is a prime example. Anyone would be proud to own this microscope.the quality of the engineering is truly phenomenal. The horizontal and vertical boom arms are machined from solid steel(not cheap aluminum as in later-day boom stand microscopes) There are three-count'em-heavy duty rack and pinion mechanisms controlling the operations of the microscope. The focusing knobs on the microscope head are chrome. Polished to a mirror-like finish(in later years, the knobs were brushed steel, and even later, much cheaper plastic) The eyepieces are 12X wide field. Heavy, with all parts glass and metal-no ... morecheap plastic parts. In fact, you won't find any plastic parts anywhere on this microscope! The objective lenses are 1X. 2X, and 3X, yielding total magnifications with the eyepieces of 12X, 24X, and 36X. The last photo in the included series of photos is taken from an American Optical Catalog. And shows a later version of the instrument(not for sale) I have included this photo to show the range of capabilities of the microscope. Note that the later models had plastic focusing knobs! Great Unitron ZST Microscope System I just have to say that this Unitron ZST is one of my favorite stereo microscopes of all time. I love it. This scope is VERY high quality. It's a high quality trinocular microscope with an extended working distance of 158 mm that is in good condition and it works essentially as intended. With good clean aligned optics. There are of course cosmetic signs of wear on the scope from age and use but if you're after something with quality and performance this is a great choice. The focus and zoom magnification controls are super smooth and accurate. The trinocular port and lever serve as intended and this port is currently fitted with a 10X eyepiece, this eyepiece is in place just to keep the opening free of dust. Offered for sale is a Scienscope stereo zoom microscope with 0.5x Barlow lens on a boom stand. Individual dioptre adjustment is available of each eyepiece. The tilt locking lever is broken. However this detracts only minimally to how the microscope is usually used. See photos. Zoom 0.7 to 4 Eyepieces WF 10X/23 Barlow lens 0.5x total magnification is from 3.5 to 20X. The Barlow lens gives a large working distance making soldering easy. The working distance is about 150mm. Field of view is 11mm at maximum zoom and about 65mm at minimum zoom. I've seen these scopes on futuristic science fiction movies. Where the prop managers hope that moviegoers don't find out that dynascopes have been around since the'70's. This microscope is in great condition and works well. The lenticular lens spins silently. And the lamp has a fresh bulb in it. The objective is 0.7x, and the scope comes with 2x zoom multiplier and a graticule. There is also a converging lens, although it is not necessary with this objective. There is no base with this, as the previous owner had mounted it directly to a table top. The image on the screen is FDR's ear on a dime.
