Leitz microscope APO 40/095 DRY OBJECTIVE
This is a Leitz Wetzlar Germany spring loaded Apochromatic objective 40X/0.95. 170/0.11-0.23 with rotating adjustment marked 11, 13, 15, 0.17. 19. 21, 23 for different cover glass thickness. The ring rotates smoothly from one stop to the other stop. The N.A. of this objective is 0.95 which approaches theoretical limit of 1.0 for dry microscope objectives. I am not aware of any dry objective from any manufacturer having higher N.A than this objective. This objective is apochromatic corrected which is the best color correction you can get in any microscope objective. There are no scratches. Separation or other imperfections on the optical elements. There are some marks on the metal barrel indicating some use.

There are no significant scuff marks or scratches on the item. The function buttons are in good condition and all words and numbers are visible. When tested the light source powered on and lit up successfully(light bulb is not included) We were then able to look through the eyepiece(from a similar microscope. DESCRIPTION: DETAILS: Clean microscope. I do not have the proper cord to plug into the microscope to try the light. Thus. I do not know if the lighting system works, so assume it does not. If I can find a proper cord I will try the light and give a report. It is not such an unusual cord, but it is not the common computer cord we all see these days. Objective optics are as shown in the photos(see the pictures of the objective covers) One objective lens is scratched near its edge(the"40" objective- See last photo) Other objectives are fine(I can send you photos of the others if you ask- I ran out of eBay allowed picture space) Note that in ... moreone photo I show the objectives with the covers removed. I took the objectives out and examined them. They are clean(no fungus. Haze, scratches- except for the scratched"40" already noted) I also took the eyepieces out and examined them. They are also clean. I looked down into the prism. What I was able to see looked clean with no fungus, haze or corrosion of the prism silvering. The light condensing lens is clean too. The light aperture works fine. But does have some oil on it. Could be cleaned if it concerns you as the aperture blades are very exposed. All the mechanical movements are smooth and work properly.
