A nice Wild M5. That I've used for about five years; selling because I've just acquired a Wild M8(with d-f base! This equipment has a(rare) dark-field base- with a trans-illumination option. The eyepieces are x15, but not Wild. Included(but not on the pics) is an epi-illumination lamp, whose arm fits on a ring that sits above the objective. The little fan has a separate mains-plug-in transformer instead of getting its juice from the lamp voltage(as originally) the lamp is a 12v 50w QI bulb under a(cracked but effective) heat filter, fed by banana plugs(I'm happiest with 6-9v) The glass circle stage has a cracked edge, but nearly all of the area is fine. Deployed military clinical laboratory field use, in the 1970s with the limited production ending toward the end of that decade. The serial number of the microscope listed here suggests it was built c. 1974. This is one of those rare Chinese products not designed for inexpensive export. It was designed for. Perhaps the most powerful component of Chinese society, the Chinese Army and thus designed and built to an unusually high standard. This item is in good condition with some minor cosmetic wear from normal use. There are no significant scuff marks. Scratches or dents on the items. The glass in the microscope, camera and monitor are all in good condition with no cracks or chips. All the function buttons all are in great condition and all words and numbers are visible. All the power and communication output and inputs are in good condition with no dents or cracks. All the power and communication cables are in great condition with no cuts or frayed areas. Please refer to the photos below for more details on the item. We were able to use the user manual(included) to connect all of the items together and ... moreget the item functional. We connected the mainframe computer to an external computer monitor and we were able to access the main computer. We were able to use the computer without any issues but we did notice the microscope control software was not installed on the computer. We tried to download the software(included) but we were unable to get the computer to fully download the software. We believe this is due to the main computer only having a 2GB hard drive. The computer also stated that our monitor had"too low of a resolution" for the program. We were also able to connect the camera from Aurora II Stage to an external monitor. As we moved our hand in front of the camera we could see movement on the monitor. The item looks like it is missing an angled piece to connect the camera to the microscope. From the little knowledge we have of this item and from the limited amount of testing we have conducted we believe it to be functional but since we are unable to test this item to its complete functionality we are required to sell this item as is. This is a wonderfull little Schutz field microscope from the turn of the last century or shortly thereafter. While this is a full height microscope at about 11" height. The optical tube quickly slips out into it's storage compartment,in the door, so the carrying case can be a compact 4 5/8" x 5 5/8" x 8 5/16" The eyepiece tube and objective thread are standard R.M.S. sizes. The microscope has a standard# 3 or 10x eyepiece and a clever 3 part objective, with stacking segments yielding 4.8x, 9.6x and 19.2x magnifications, as the additional lens sections are added. Picture 5 shows all the lens segments separated and then in picture 6 they are assembled into the bottom of the optical tube. The 8th, 9th and 10th pictures show photographs of the same slide of a plant cortex, taken with each magnification. All the lenses ... moreare in excellent shape. The mirror has some slight fogging but those pictures were taken with that mirror and daylight. The coarse focus is by a very smooth drawtube and the fine focus by a smooth and very precise helical thread. The knurl and graduations for the fine focus are seen in picture 6. This is a great little precision German field microscope.

The source is a Schottky hair pin tungsten with a reservoir of zirconium oxide. The field emission gun was operational when removed from the scanning electron microscope SEM, the source will need to be replaced since it is depleted of zirconium oxide. Re-install a new Schottky source and it will be fully functional. The gun is under vacuum and has not been vented. This was removed from a working Amray Field emission SEM, all Amray Field emission sem’s use the same 305 electron gun, it will bolt directly to any column. Bausch & Lomb Academic Model 236 Flat Field Microscope
Available here is a Bausch& Lomb Academic microscope. The Academic line was designed for ease of use while providing superior image formation in a robust form that would resist damage in inexperienced hands. Put more directly. They are built to last. This microscope will provide anyone with an excellent tool at a great price. New, these microscopes ranged from about $140.00 to $350.00 and a similar microscope today would cost more than twice that without providing the same quality of image that one can expect from Bausch& Lomb optics. The microscope is a quality insturment and the Academic was notably the first instance of the harmonic drive being applied to microscope focusing. Because of this, one will never encounter a limit(other than the upper and lower limit of the coarse focus) when using the fine focus and can focus over the ... morecomplete range if necessary! But enough salesmanship, let me tell you about this particular microscope. The illuminator on this model is the Bausch& Lomb standard Optilume"B" It provides bright even illumination with a two lens condesing system and ground glass daylight blue filter mounted over a 15watt bulb. This is a small night-light size bulb but it uses a standard medium screw base(also called the mazda. E27, e26, or simply Edison base) as a regular lightbulb so finding a replacement when needed is easy. A new 15watt bulb will be installed when shipped. The condenser on this model is a 0.55 N.A. with iris diaphragm and filter slot. It's mounted in a short distance focusable mount that moves it the few milimeters up or down that is required to get the optimum resolution out of the optics included. The stage is large and circular with graduated mechanical x and y axis control. The broad knurled heads of the axis controls are mounted on a common shaft below the stage and make moving a slide about smooth and easy.
