The microscope you are buying is a well-designed student microscope. Probably made in the same Asian factory as high end models. Most of the world’s microscopes are made in a few factories and sold under various brands. This model looks nearly identical to the“Nasco Full-Feature Student Microscope- 0.65 NA Condenser 5-Hole Disc Diaphragm, 20-watt Tungsten” which currently sells for $205.75 new. It was a joy using the Unico microscope to take the microphotos posted above. The only image shown above that you can’t recreate out of the box is the diatom(microscopic algae that live in intricate glass shells and grow in fresh and salt water) Stauroneis phoenicenteron was used as an optical test because its rows of dots are only 720 nm apart(the wavelength of deep red light) Close to the theoretical limit for a 40X objective. This Unico microscope shows those frustules clearly. Again, the diatom slide is not included. But everything else is, including the slides shown in the other photomicrographs.
