This was my college microscope last used approximately 21 years ago. It has been in storage in my attic since then. The Microscope works but could use a good cleaning. The American Optical light source still works as well as can be seen in the pictures. There is no mount for the light on the transformer base- the light source fits directly onto the microscope. I'm also including the accessories that you see in the pictures: the Sepor sorter and approximately 100 aluminum slide trays. If you are curious. I used this microscope to pick benthic foraminifera out of core samples which I then transferred to slides. This sale is as is. I have been unable to test the camera operations as I do not have the appropriate 35mm film. But I know that the photoautomat powers up. It does not have a focusing telescope. Wild Heerbrugg M20 Microscope with polarized Incident Light & Phototube & Object
This M20 is currently setup for incident light illumination and is capable of darkfield. And brightfield microscopy. The light source for the illuminator has been converted to a fiber optic source and the light source pictured is included. It also has two 360 degree rotatable polarizers both in the light path and an analyzer polarizer. Four EPI objectives 4X, 10X, 20X, and 40X are included with n.a. values ranging from 0.10 to 0.65. The frame and head are a newer version of the Swiss made, M20 microscope both in excellent condition. The paint is nearly flawless with good shine. The EPI illuminator is from an older M20 scope and cosmetically not nearly as nice as the frame but it does function properly. Both irises in this illuminator move with the condenser iris sticking just a bit. Polarizers are in great shape, rotate well and no delamination. ... moreMechanical controls all work as they should with condenser focus, Fine and course focus and mechanical stage movements all smooth and functional. Stage is oversize with about 4” of movement in both X and Y directions and includes a glass insert. Objectives are generally in good shape with the only flaw I could find in the front lens of the 10X objective where there is some etching of the glass. It’s significant enough to effect image quality but still very useable. Other flaws are significant oxidation of the chrome on the objective turret(see photos) and paint degradation on the lens assembly of the base illuminator lens housing(this lens also is losing its AR coating) This microscope also has a 1.4 NA condenser(an old Nikon I believe) so with the addition of the in base illuminator it could also do transmission microscopy. My overall assessment would be a nice very useable microscope as is with some room for fixing-up/upgrading. In addition to PayPal I also accept checks with shipment delay until check clears. A WILL Wetzlar 10x/ 0.25 objective, a WILL Wetzlar 4x/ 0.10 objective and an unknown brand 20x/ 0.25 objective(silver and green in picture) The top lens/ objective/ phase ring piece is missing.
