Designed for Chinese Army Field Hospitals- S olidly-built with components mounted to a metal structure. The microscope was designed for Chinese Army field hospital. Deployed military clinical laboratory field use, in the 1970s with the limited production ending toward the end of that decade. The serial number of the microscope listed here suggests it was built c. 1974. This is one of those rare Chinese products not designed for inexpensive export. It was designed for. Perhaps the most powerful component of Chinese society, the Chinese Army and thus designed and built to an unusually high standard. This is, perhaps, the most functional and capable field microscope ever made. This and the earlier Nikon H are the royalty ... moreof portable field microscopes. However, this later folded-optics microscope is considerably more functional and convenient to use than its cohorts, offering viewing of slides right-side up, not upside down as in McArthurs and Nikon folded optics instruments. Although they are hard to obtain today, the TWX-1 was made for the Chinese Army and so was manufactured for a quite restricted user target and is relatively rare. One in this condition is rarer still. Condition: This item was stored in Shanxi province for the Chinese Army. Although listed as used. It was probably never employed in the field, it does show some signs of extended storage and handling as expected a quarter century after manufacture. But this one belonged to my father when he was in med school, so the mid 1960's sounds about right, but it could easily be older. Trinocular biological brightfield benchtop, mid-1960s) Earlier Labolux stands have a rounded back side of the base, but later versions have three straight sides of the base like the Dialux" The scope is in excellent condition. Everything seems to work fine, all knobs move smoothly. The black enamel has one small chip on the back and seems to be peeling in two small places size about 1/2" It has been wrapped in plastic so it has stayed clean. If you look with only one eye, and then then other eye, you will notice that the image is in a slightly different position. So I am selling it"as is" for parts or repair. The optics seem okay, except for the misalignment. I had used the microscope several times before I became aware of the misalignment. Includes the 2 B&L 10x wide field eyepieces. The 1.0x to 7.0x variable power pod, stand, and a flat steel plate. There is no light. The plate does not appear to be part of the original microscope. The plate just rests on the base and is not attached. It could be mounted if someone drilled holes through it.

Bought this several years ago at a yard sale. Have no idea where it`s from or anything about it. It has the Marine Corp symbol on the front and looks very old. I`m sure some military collector out there would love to have this and since we are moving I want to sell it instead of packing it away. Nu tone Intercom Unit. This is a 3003 model and the clock works as does the radio. The intercom itself is very low. The dealer in Ohio says it is a voltage deal and needs replaced. Working Vintage AO Spencer Microscope 321958. ERB& and GRAY This lot includes the two objective lenses shown in the photos(an AO Spencer 4x N.A. 12 ∞. Cat. 1075, and a COOKE 5X 0-15 A3938) and the Eyepiece also shown in the photos. Using a sticky not that I wrote on with pencil I was able to resolve the graphite on the sticky note with and without a flashlight. The image quality is good but there is some dirt/particles in the lenses. The coarse adjustment knob and the fine adjustment knob both work(although I mainly used the coarse knob.
