Bird Termaline Model 67 Dummy Load Termination Resistor 500 Watt, 50 Ohms, Watts
This item is not working and is for parts or repair This is a 500 Watt. 50 ohm load manufactured by Bird Electronic Corp. It is a Termaline model 67. As you can see in the pictures, the cone shaped adapter on the input has couplers with diodes that plug in to convert the RF to DC. There is also a connector there for the DC sample so a meter can be connected to it for power input monitoring. Has a type"N" RF input connector. The problem this load has is that it appears that the internal resistor is open. Reads 0 ohms when an ohmeter is connected across center pin of N connector to body of load. Other than that the exterior of the load is in very good condition. Good project for someone that wants to repair it or use it for parts. This is a nice Heathkit audio dummy load for testing amplifiers. Contains 4 8ohm/60watt resistors which can be configured in a variety of ways to allow a single channel 8ohm/240W load. Two channels of 4ohm/120W load, 4 channels of 8ohm/60w loads etc. See the photo of the front panel for all the options. Works fine,all binding posts are in good shape. I do not have the various shorting clips used to jumper the binding posts together, but you can just use pieces of jumper wire to accomplish the same thing.
