It will not work on newer Eclipse models as those take infinity tube length. This objective has a very specific use and that is for high end imaging of histology thin slice specimens. It takes a cover slip and only has a working distance above the cover slip of the same amount = 0.17mm. Oil objective with very high N.A, The piece is used but in very good condition. There are some scratches on the barrel typical of casual use and these do not affect the operation. All lenses in great condition. I tested it on a Microphot-FXA and it gave great images. Olympus BX Microscope Trinocular Head - Missing Camera Divetail
This is one of the black trinocular heads for the Olympus BX microscopes. It appears to be in perfect working order except someone removed the dovetail camera adapter part on the top of this head. The beam splitting rod moves very easily and I can see the prisms move when you change positions on this rod. You can send 100% of the light to the eyepieces. Split the light 20% to the eyepieces and 80% to the camera, or send 100% of the light to the camera. I cannot seem to find replacement Olympus camera dovetail for this trinocular head.
