Automated/manual mechanical stage for Nikon Diaphot, Vexta motors, no controller
This automated stage came off a Nikon Diaphot TMD inverted microscope that was surplus from a biotech company. And appears to be in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. However, there is still a little bit of Scotch tape residue on top of the stage, perhaps it was serving to hold a stage plate in place. The manufacturer is unknown, but the stepping motors are VEXTA model PXC43-01AA, made by the Oriental Motor Co. in Japan. It works perfectly as a manual mechanical stage. With the X-Y control knobs on the right side of the stage. It is missing the control module and the stage plate, only what is shown in the photos is included. However, the stage plate was rectangular or square, and one could easily be customized from a piece of sheet metal or heavy plastic. Nikon Diaphot TMD microscope changeover prism and mirror unit This includes the entire unit that houses the changeover prisms and mirrors on the original Nikon Diaphot TMD microscope. None of this will work on any other model. This direct which way the light goes. The top large prism determines whether the light goes all to the eyepieces or some to the camera. The bottom set of two mirrors controls whether the light goes to the side video port or to the front 35 mm port. If you just only damaged your prism or mirror then you don't need to replace the entire assembly; I'm including that just in case. The top prism also works on the Nikon Epiphot TME metallograph. The bottom mirror unit will work if all you need to do is send light to the side port. It would need to be modified if you wanted to use the front Polaroid camera port which ... morenobody does anymore. The only problem with it is that somebody used it so long with the dovetail sliders stiff that it damaged the threads on the bottom slider bar. It screws in but does not tighten down. As long as the sliders were well lubed and the user was careful it won't be a problem. But somebody could retap the threads and probably fix it. I'll leave that up to the buyer.
