Leitz Heine Microscope condenser, brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast
This is the sleeve mount version of the legendary Leitz Heine Phase Contrast condenser. Sleeve mount is the standard(old) Leitz. 39.5mm dia. centerable sleeve type. not the bayonet mount) The condenser was designed to use with Leitz Pv phase contrast objectives, however, in brightfield mode, and darkfield, it functions very well with many standard Leitz objectives, and, this can also be used with Leitz, or other makes, thought I have not tested very many) standard Zernike type phase contrast objectives. It gives truly wonderful darkfield and phase, and in a very interesting way, you can put it just in between phase and bright, or dark, for interesting contrasts. In that way, it is significantly more versatile than the Zernike phase contrast condenser. It is a lot of fun, and quite interesting to use. It has the removable top lens(which is ... moresometimes lost) with it, and is in very good, but not perfect condition- the one flaw I see is a little bit of loss of black paint around the top periphery of glass. You can see this on the image of the top with the screw-on auxiliary lens removed. The screw-on auxiliary lens is used when employing an oil immersion objective- it is unscrewed and stored for use with other lenses. In use, I see fine images, despite the fact that these bits of peripheral black paint on the glass are missing, and in all other respects I judge it perfect. I am starting it off low because of this small flaw. I do not perceive the flaw to cause any image problems, and I have used it with many different objectives. This is desirable! Pay Pal please.
