This vise shows little use in all those years and no abuse. It has a partial label for the 5 year warranty as pictured. From 1946! This has a poker straight handle thats rusted. I was going to clean and paint this until I saw the label. This is tight no back n forth or side to side slop. It comes together perfect except for the loose jaw with gunk behind it. If I get this off and cleaned it will be perfect. I got this in a packed garage laying on the concrete rusting away. What a waste of American vise history. Wilton vise 1765 6 1/2 jaws 6 1/2 opening Used
Wilton 1765 Tradesman Vise Show little sign of use but has some bangs on top of it. I think it was in a supervisors truck has surface rust which I didnt try to hide. It was hard to turn when I first tryed it. But a squirt of WD40 and I could spin it with one finger. I tried to show the jaws as best I could.They are sharp and appear to have little wear other than the surface rust. hopeing no one bids on this so I can keep.

Fresh out of a barn is this super nice American made Wilton 6-1/2" antique bullet vise. This vise is 100% functional and looks to me like it barely saw any use! You will notice that it has acquired some"patina" you may call it surface rust) over time. But I chose not to use any solvents or clean it, and instead leave it in as-found condition. I did not want to do anything that would damage this authentic piece of American iron. I am certain that it will clean up just fine if you choose to do so. One machinist and one Tradesman Both are in pristine condition, both serving different needs. This one had been finished and the 400S is awaiting a cleaning from its new lucky owner. This 1765 I don't believe was ever used. It stuns in all the photos. It came in Primiered(photo) and missing the base assembly. Besides adding a swivel base Assembly. I scuffed and painted this vise a close Tradesman color and added a new side logo sticker. I lightly sanded the anvil only to remove the stains on it. The jaw insert holes need to be tapped out as their are screws that have broke off in the holes. There is one jaw and a screw that do go in one side but I do not have the other jaw for it. Taskmaster Swivel Bench Combination Vise 6" Jaws 67+ Lbs. Wilton Bullet Clone
Full specs& indoor lighting photo at the bottom of listing. I don't believe there's any debate here that Taskmaster blatantly copied Wilton's popular bullet vise. Lots of manufacturers have done the very same thing over the years. Wiltons have always sold very well and they were all trying to get an easy piece of that pie. It's hard to say how successful these companies were because I personally rarely come across them but over the course of the years I'm fairly certain I've spent time with each and every clone model released. I'm comfortable saying that Taskmaster did the best job with their version as far as quality goes. I don't restore vises which I don't care for and I very much like this one. Even though I'm not a huge fan of copying somebody else's work it's the quality of this one ... morewhich prompted me to pick it up and refinish it. I'm glad I did. So please take my word for it, this is a very nice vise from a company that made good vises. I've never read a single negative thing from Taskmaster owners and it's easy to see why after you use this one. Obviously this is a large vise with very big jaws. They're 6" wide which puts this vise in the big leagues. The vise weighs just a tick under 70 pounds and is no featherweight to move around and refinish. Ironically the weight. 67 pounds, is exactly the same as a Wilton 1760 Tradesman vise with 6" jaws. I'm glad it's done but I do hope to get in some small vises soon. I spent more time on this one than I wanted to but here it is. It received a full"frame-off" restoration and turned out very nice if I may say so. The old finish was decently hideous so it had to go. The vise was completely taken apart, every piece. Some aviation gel stripper made quick work of the ugly, old paint. It was then given a final cleaning with a soft wire wheel, scrubbed well and then the cast iron pieces were prepped for paint. I warmed the parts to be painted in an oven to 200 degrees and thre
