WILTON Machinist Bullet Vise Swivel Base 3" Jaws 5-3/4" Opening 9300 8300N
Good used condition. I partially disassembled the vise to clean. Lubricate and inspect it. The inside of the vise was very clean and lubed when I first took it apart as shown in the second photo. The vise is completely reassembled and lubricated. The top of the vise has tool marks from normal use on the anvil and on the outside of the jaws. The jaws, screws and all moving parts are in very good condition. Much of the paint is worn off from normal use. The swivel base rotates continuously without any stops. There are two hold down clamps on the swivel base and 3 mounting holes. The vise weighs 25-3/4 lbs net weight. This is a very heavy duty vise that should virtually last forever. No owners markings. WILTON VISE 400S MADE 5-79, 4" JAWS.
Description No question this Wilton 400S has been used and by looking at the base. Its environment also came into play more then the actual vise usage. This vise was not sitting in water, it was near a corrosive element like Salt or Fertilizer that made the base and lower end of this vise appear that way. It in to way compromises the structural makeup of this vise. The one photo of the underneath shows the base is untouched. This vise was previously painted. I stripped it clean, removed the jaws without any problems lubed the spindle and repained it. The rest of the exterior of this vise shows normal wear on the anvil, channel bar and dispite the ding on the side(photo) everything else is good. New finger savers, new collar, new swivel handles, the jaws are original to the vise and in nice condition. This vise swivels properly and locks down ... morenormally. The spindle handle is very nice along with the 2 new swivel handles. Operation is smooth and easy. Guys, with proper care, this Wilton Bullet will service you for many years to come. This is a WILTON CADET 9140 Swivel Bullet Bench(Machinist) Vise with 4" Jaws made at the Schiller Park. ILL USA plant in 1962. There is plenty of wear on the jaws. But they still do their job; and that does not effect the mechanics of the vise at all. Just a few words of how I refurbished the vise. Gave it a bath in solvent. Then very hot water. Dried it with compressed air. Then, glass beaded every piece of it right down to bare metal. Polished up the bare machined surfaces. And taped them off. Shot the casting with Rustolium Hammered Light Blue. Greased all moving parts. And removing the excess lube. Did it- so you don't have to. This vise will most likely be around for your grandkids! This 101033 Wilton is mint! This vise ended a model type that basically started in the early 50's. as a 9450. This 1-76 model 101033 is the latest I have ever seen for past generation. Production of the current 450S started about 1975. The casting was so nice and smooth. I did not want to paint it. Its exactly the way it came in, no alterations were done to the casting. Its complete, no cracks, welds, or pieces missing. It has new Wilton OE replacement hardened serrated jaws 4.50"W X 1"H. new Wilton copper liners and it will be your option should you decide to either paint it or leave it natural like it is. This vise was stripped, cleaned and lubed, From the spindle handle to the back dust cap, this package is beyond just nice. RESTORED Wilton Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 4" Jaws 50 lbs.1971 Made in USA vice
This is the last vise you'll ever buy. Unless you want more than one of course. This old vise is a real beauty. Big and heavy too. That is no small tree stump it's resting on. It wasn't this pretty when I got it. It had sat in a garage for who knows how long. It had about a 1/8" of house paint and crud all over it. It was just begging to be brought back to life. I cleaned it up as much as I could with soap and water and then media blasted it down to bare metal along with some wire brushing. It was completely disassembled. Everything that is removable was removed. After some time in the solvent tank, clean and apart, I could give it a thorough inspection. I was happy to find that the metal is still in fantastic condition. No cracks, no welds and no repairs. That's what you want. You can see it all stripped down in the ... morelast photo. After every piece was completely cleaned and prepped I was able to begin the refinishing. I chose Italian Olive for the color and applied a baked on enamel finish. It should hold up very well. The vise is quite handsome in person. None of these photos capture the color well in my opinion, it's more attractive when you see it. You'll also be stunned at its size and weight the first time you handle it. All of the moving mechanisms and friction surfaces have been freshly lubed with blue, synthetic grease. This vise is ready for decades of hard work. The action is simply fantastic on it. Your eyebrows will lift the first time you screw it in and out. I promise. It's hard to believe how well vises were made back in the day after getting used to the junk sold today in big-box stores. This vise has smooth face jaws and they are in nice shape. You won't need to change them for a very long time. However, a couple of the jaw screws are kind of bunged up where the Phillips screwdriver goes in. It's no problem, the jaws are in tight and the screws aren't going anywhere. However, the next time, maybe 30 years from now, when you change jaws out it might be a

Very good used Wilton 4" bench vise with pipe jaws(cast into the jaws) and swivel base. This vise has been cleaned and painted. But I made no attempt to dress up the scars it has received from use. The screw(last picture) was in great condition, I simply cleaned the threaded portion with degreaser. Also noteworthy is the screw handle, it is straight and doesn't appear to have ever been straightened. You can operate this vise with one finger. The replaceable jaw faces do show noticeable scarring, but they are usable. The jaws don't close perfectly, but they close tight enough for all but the finest work. As stated the jaw width is 4 inches. On the casting it reads maximum opening 5 1/2 inches, but 4 3/8 inches is the maximum opening with full screw engagement. This is a very good old vise that can give you a lifetime of service ... moreif used properly. 1982 Duracraft 4½" Jaws Swivel Anvil Bench Mount Vise MV-440 Wilton Knock Off
This vise was manufactured by DURACRAFT and is obviously intended to be a Wilton knockoff. Although it's not as good a brand as a Wilton it also won't be as expensive as one and still. It actually feels like a really good vise. The action is smooth, no snags in the main screw at all. One finger easy spin out and one finger easy spin in. It's ready to work, I saw no structural damage anywhere, just the usual surface blemishes from a working tool that you can see in the photos. There's no owner markings. Condition issues: Scratches. Vintage Wilton Cadet 9140 Swivel Bullet Bench Vise 4" Jaws 1956 machinist
Antique Wilton Cadet model 9140 bullet vise. The manufacture date on the drift key is 11-30-56. The vise jaws are 4" wide and open to approximately 5 1/2" The vise is in good operational condition. But at one time someone must have beat on something so hard that it broke off part of the base under the jaw on the fixed side and roughed up the top behind the jaw(see photos) When I got it the fixed jaw was missing. I made a replacement jaw out of mild steel and it works fine. I had to re-tap the screw threads so the screws are different sizes on the 2 jaws. The missing part of the jaw base does not affect clamping strength. It would only be a factor if you wanted to clamp a part in it and beat it with a sledge hammer. The screw is in good shape and turns very smoothly. This would be great candidate for restoration or it will function ... moregreat for years to come just as it is. The fixed jaw base could be built back up with weld or simply left alone. Overall a very good vise and would be beautiful restored. Note: Shipping is to lower 48 states only. The base plate and screw may be dissasembled so that it will fit into a flat rate box.

Wilton vise in a lovely and largely perceptible red. This vise is generally in good condition- there is only light oxidation and the worm drive is smooth. The only significant flaw is a jaw that needs replacement. Jaw width is 100mm(3.94" Opening is 95mm(3.74" though of course it can go a bit more.

RESTORED: Vintage 1950's Wilton Shop King Bench Swivel Vise 4" Jaws Made In USA
I have no idea why they don't put effort into design these days like they used to. Just look how cool this thing is. It has such great character. I'm glad I found it because it was destined to be scrapped. I just couldn't let that happen. The vise was absolutely filthy when I got it, covered in pretty much everything you can imagine. This Shop King needed help. Wilton made Shop King vises for a brief period in the early 1950's right before moving from Chicago to Schiller Park IL. They didn't make them long and the line was discontinued after the move. This is a 4" model. No. 14. It's very large for a 4" vise, one of the biggest four inch vises I've seen. Wilton wasn't messing around. But it's the unique look that get people going over these old Kings, the classic 50's school of design. It ... moreswivels about 200 ° and opens to four inches. Maybe a little farther if you need the extra bit. This one was quite an undertaking to bring back into service. The first thing I did was give it a good bath. It was filthy and I got filthy cleaning it. After a couple hours of cleaning and degreasing it was to a point where the restoration could begin. There isn't much nice to say about the little remaining paint and it obviously needed to be stripped to bare metal. After I got it stripped down I was relieved to see a pretty solid vise that could end up nice. I looked it over and there is a crack. It's small and on the underside of the dynamic jaw. There's a photo at the end of the listing text so you can see it. The crack has been there a long time and thankfully it's small. I don't see anything wrong with having this crack. Everything remains completely solid in my inspection so I don't, at all, expect this to cause any issues down the road. Of course if you abuse the vise then all bets are off. At this point I applied three coats of enamel. The bottom half is Racing Green Metallic and the top half is Classic Grey. I baked the paint for an hour and I bel

WILTON VISE 4" NEW JAWS. JAN, 1976 EXCELLENT CONDITION! This 4" 101028 Wilton machinist's vise was stamped in 1-76 which was 1 year after Wilton introduced their current 400S that we know today. This style I believe was their nicest with the anvil being smaller. I stripped. Cleaned, lubed and painted it a hammered color from the period. It's complete, no cracks, welds or pieces missing. Externally, its above average for this style vise showing less then usual wear marks about the handle, slide channel and anvil. Operation is smooth, handle response is tight. The jaws close tight and align up perfectly. This vise will swivel 360 and lock down tightly with dual lock downs. Wilton 1644 Mechanics Bench Vise, 4" jaws and Swivel Base, Great Condition
Up for sale is a refurbished Wilton 1644 Mechanics medium duty bench vise. The vise was prepped and shot with a new coat of Wilton hammer tone blue paint and all of the bare steel parts were cleaned and polished. The jaw insert hardware was really chewed up so i turned down some replacement screws so they are exactly like the originals. The vise has 4" jaws with a throat depth of 3 ⅜" The max opening is 5 ½" but that could be stretched another ½" if needed. The vise weighs about 27lbs and has a large. Resurfaced anvil/striking area that measures 3 ¼" x 2 ⅝"

Its ready to go on your bench. Despite one handle end knob having to be welded sometime back in the last 34 years, this vise is a looker. The jaws are original to this vise and in excellent condition. Operation is quiet and flawless. With this vise I've included a pair of HD copper liners. These are 6" liners cut down to 4" I believe these have 2 major advantages over OE copper liners. 1, the copper faces are twice as thick and can be resurfaced if needed and 2, the bigger liner offers much more protection to the jaw towers protecting them from the mighty hammer or hacksaw. WILTON VISE, VINTAGE, FEB 1946, RARE SMALLER 4 1/2" NEW JAWS, EXCELLENT!
This early 2-46 is one of the nicest I've had come my way. Even thru out the middle 40's Wilton continued to use acorn cap nuts for lock downs. That was one of the amazing things about the Wilton Vise Co. back in the early days. Castings came from a foundry up in Wisconsin and Wilton did not do a very good job in rotating stock. Even lock downs were"whatever was lying around. Wilton had swivel handles back then and also early part numbers 845/945 which were on newer castings that this vise does not have. What struck me most about this vise was its small size. You won't find a smaller 4 1/2" bullet. This was their top offering pre and post war in the 4 1/2" size. This vise will not only fit on almost any workbench it will definitely add that"WOW" factor to it. Its only 14 1/2" long. Opens, 5" ... morethe throat is 2 3/4" and its sits low, at 6 5/8" and weighs a mere 38 lbs. This vise was clean when I found it. It was painted a machine Gray. I have since repainted it close to a Wilton color of today. This vise is complete with no cracks or pieces missing. The spindle handle shows less then average wear and is nice! With it are its original jaws which I might also add are in above average condition and I'm also giving you a new set of jaws so you could opt and save the old ones. Guys. This smaller vintage unnumbered bullet is already 68 years and with TLC(meaning using it like a human and not letting a animal near it) and using it for light and light/medium duty work will see 100 years. Wilton premiered this model in 1954 and its was tailored to the auto mechanic shops and home use. It does not appear in their 1972 catalog. Wilton built this model on the basic Wilton bullet platform of the late 40's.Early 50's and to cut corners Wilton left off the anvil and rear dust cap, The vise itself is very close to the 4 1/2 made in the 40's. Its shorter with a shorter throat and no anvil made this vise more appealing in price. The Shop Kings are absolutely stunning vises and it's a shame this great sense of style in manufacturing was lost somewhere along the way. Shop Kings were first sold by Wilton in 1951 and production didn't continue but for a few years before they changed to a different model. That was a real loss in my opinion as I consider them to have some of the most handsomely designed lines for any vise ever sold. Their striking appearance just can't be denied. This 4" Wilton Shop King is in remarkable condition. All of the edges are crisp. It has very few signs of usage and is in overall excellent condition. Clearly it was either extremely well cared for or it hasn't seen a lot of work. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The action ... moreis outstanding and the jaws(Which are in wonderful condition. close up squarely and snugly. Both pipe jaws are included as is the hardy. The hardy isn't original however. It was fabricated from a steel bolt and two nuts welded in place and then shaped, that's why you see signs of a thread pattern on the chisel faces. So while it isn't perfect in appearance it will still make a fine hardy. Ultimately, most of these are missing and it's better than nothing, right? This vise was completely refurbished by myself. A complete cosmetic overhaul. The old paint was removed entirely with gel stripper. A bare metal, thorough inspection revealed no hidden damage or repairs. The cast iron pieces to be painted were warmed to 200 ° and three coats of each color enamel were sprayed. Each paint application was cured at 200 ° for 30 minutes each. There is no paint on any friction surface. The colors are Satin Leaf on Cobalt Blue Metallic. All hardware was cleaned and made to function as new. Full specs at the bottom of listing. This is a 1992 Wilton Tradesman 1740 4" Combination Swivel Vise. Perfect size for a tinkerer's shop. Sometimes I wonder if people buy tools and just let them sit there. This vise is so lightly used that it isn't even broken in yet. Everything is fresh on this vise and It has a very. Very long life ahead of it. Just look at the dozen large gallery photos and see for yourself how pristine this vise is. It had obviously been just sitting in a shop somewhere for quite a long while when I got it. I wanted it to look as good as it works so it received a complete makeover. Everything was disassembled and inspected for any signs of damage. Cracking, welds or repairs. I'm happy to report there are none but I didn't expect there would be. Read any of my vise auctions and you already know how ... moreI do it. Whatever is left of the old finish is removed with stripper gel and every part of the vise is cleaned to look and work as new again. After surface prep the cast iron pieces are warmed to 200 ° I think apply three coats of Verde Green hammered finish enamel. This is extremely close to Wilton's factor color. Each paint application is baked at 200 ° for 30 minutes. This makes for a reliable and durable finish. After that it's back together with synthetic lubricant on the moving parts. That's it. There's no secret. This vise is a winner. I don't think anybody could deny that. I can't imagine a person not loving to own and use this vise every day. Nothing hidden, no surprises. You'll be very pleased when you open your package and mount this guy on your bench. It's time this vise sees some work. I hope you enjoy it.
