This is a vintage WILTON bullet machinist bench vise. Believe it is a No. 5 model. It has 2 1/2" jaws and opens to 3 1/2" Has the swivel base with double locks. This vise is in nice shape. Retains a good deal of the original paint and the jaws are in super conditon. Does show use, but has been kept in nice condition. Comes with a set of brass jaw caps. Wilton bullet vises are about the best bench vise you will find. They are the smoothest operating vises and this one is as smooth as it gets. No play. Big handle slides smoothly even with bow to it. Little lock handle is a little bent& dinged up though it also moves freely. This vise shows little use in all those years and no abuse. It has a partial label for the 5 year warranty as pictured. From 1946! This has a poker straight handle thats rusted. I was going to clean and paint this until I saw the label. This is tight no back n forth or side to side slop. It comes together perfect except for the loose jaw with gunk behind it. If I get this off and cleaned it will be perfect. I got this in a packed garage laying on the concrete rusting away. What a waste of American vise history. WILTON Machinist Bullet Vise Swivel Base 3" Jaws 5-3/4" Opening 9300 8300N
Good used condition. I partially disassembled the vise to clean. Lubricate and inspect it. The inside of the vise was very clean and lubed when I first took it apart as shown in the second photo. The vise is completely reassembled and lubricated. The top of the vise has tool marks from normal use on the anvil and on the outside of the jaws. The jaws, screws and all moving parts are in very good condition. Much of the paint is worn off from normal use. The swivel base rotates continuously without any stops. There are two hold down clamps on the swivel base and 3 mounting holes. The vise weighs 25-3/4 lbs net weight. This is a very heavy duty vise that should virtually last forever. No owners markings. Vintage Wilton Mechanics Swivel Bench Vise #1750 5" Jaw width Heavy Duty USA
This is a nice Wilton 1750 vise with a 5" jaw width and swivel. When I got it the jaws were in bad shape. At some point. The bolts holding the jaws on had loosened, but the user continued to use the vise which caused the bolts to break off inside the holes. I have removed all of the old, broken bolts. A new set of replacement jaws and perhaps some new paint is all that would be required to restore this to new condition. The replacement jaws and bolts are available for around $25 online. I will include aftermarket aluminum jaws. These were originally held to the vise with magnets, which have now been crushed, so they just rest on the jaw faces. The pipe jaws on this vise are slightly different than I have seen on other versions of this vise. But perhaps this is an earlier design. WILTON VISE 400S MADE 5-79, 4" JAWS.
Description No question this Wilton 400S has been used and by looking at the base. Its environment also came into play more then the actual vise usage. This vise was not sitting in water, it was near a corrosive element like Salt or Fertilizer that made the base and lower end of this vise appear that way. It in to way compromises the structural makeup of this vise. The one photo of the underneath shows the base is untouched. This vise was previously painted. I stripped it clean, removed the jaws without any problems lubed the spindle and repained it. The rest of the exterior of this vise shows normal wear on the anvil, channel bar and dispite the ding on the side(photo) everything else is good. New finger savers, new collar, new swivel handles, the jaws are original to the vise and in nice condition. This vise swivels properly and locks down ... morenormally. The spindle handle is very nice along with the 2 new swivel handles. Operation is smooth and easy. Guys, with proper care, this Wilton Bullet will service you for many years to come. WILTON VISE 500S, BIG, 5" JAWS, 96 LBS, WITH EXTRAS, CLEAN!!
Description This is the current Wilton 500S that is made today except it has a end cap housing that Wilton did away with in around 1998. This is a 1980 model and its in excellent mechanical condition. Handle response is excellent with very little wear on the inside of the collar. Operation is smooth. The original OE serrated jaws are also in very good condition. This vise originally came as a 500N. I added a swivel base assembly with HD handles. The front spindle shows normal wear and its straight with the original finder savers. The anvil was partially destroyed with a grinder and was machined down with the sides chamfered. Guys.Always be careful using a grinder near a vise. A grinders edge will cut thru a vise like a warm knife thru butter. Fellas, this vise is 22" long and pushing 100 lbs. This auction is for a Vintage 5" Wilton Cadet Vise with swivel base. This is not a common vise size. Most are 4" But this one is 5" It is in fair condition with signs of age and use. No cracks to metal, just dirty and paint lose throughout. It is marked Wilton Cadet Schiller Pk Ill USA 8-150. It is very heavy, so pleae feel free to inquire about shipping costs. It is marked" WILTON SCHILLER PARK ILLINOIS USA" on one side(see Picture#2) and then marked" N2" 111092" And" 111093" on the other side(see Picture#4) This item is used. But functions properly. It has some normal use wear, mostly on the top areas of the vise grips(see Pictures) I am not sure how old it is. It belonged to my father. It could use a little cleaning as it has sat on my father's workbench for many many years. The vise is very heavy, weighing about 45 pounds on my scale(my scale has been wrong before, so give or take a couple pounds) From end to end when fuller closed, it measures about 14 inches(including the handle) ... moreIt stands about 8.5 inches tall. The vise jaws open up to about 7.5 inches(see Picture#6) and the jaws themselves are about 4 inches wide. The base has a diameter of about 7.75 inches, not including the feet used to bolt the vise down(see Picture#12) This is definitely a big vise. The jaws have some wear but appear to be in descent shape(see Pictures#7 and#8) The handle/ bar to open and close the vise turns smoothly without any issues. Please note on the side that the handle is, there appears to be a screw missing(see Picture#10) The vise still seems to function well, but you may need to find a screw to put in there. I looked around here and could not find it anywhere. I am not an expert on these items, so I tried to describe this item as best as possible. Wilton introduced the Tradesman series in the early 70's. This is one such model. This early model as you can see from one of the photos had a hallow base and it has tin pipe jaws. A number of pieces are not original to this vise. The base. Jaws, lock downs underneath with carriage bolts, swivel handles, side stickers, and spindle handle and finger savers are not original to this vise. There is no dust cap in back and looks like Wilton's Cadet from years previous, The base of the vise itself shows weld marks however its sitting on top of a modern swivel base able to rotate 360. The long 3/8" HD replacement swivel handles will lock this vise down tight. WILTON VISE, BIG C2 COMBO, 5" PIPE JAWS, CLEAN!!
This C2 came in excellent mechanical condition. It was used on a welding table and came in with welding splatter up on the jaw towers. I addressed the towers and there still remains some pit marks and weld specs around the casting. This 1994 model was cleaned. Stripped and lubed and, as you can see, its turned out nice. The swivel handles, and spindle handle and the holding collar shows less then average wear. The pipe jaws show some light wear however there are new serrated jaws on top. Guys operation this smooth and tight on this big guy. Swiveling 360 is not a problem. Handle response is excellent. Guys, this bigger Wilton will definitely fit the needs of those that are looking for a bigger upgrade on your bench. SPECS. Wilton 5" Machinist Bullet Vise With New Jaw Inserts and New Wilton Copper Caps
Wilton 5" machinist swivel base bullet vise. This vise was disassembled. Cleaned, blasted, repainted, lubed and reassembled. Brand new, serrated jaw inserts were installed during assembly. Base rotates 360 degrees and has double lock downs. Jaws close evenly and squarely and has near zero play in the lead screw and dynamic jaw. The lead screw handle shows signs of use but is straight, slides smoothly through its' bore and still retains its' rubber washer"finger savers" Will also include a new set of solid copper Wilton jaw caps, and one used jaw insert. The copper caps are nearly 1/4" thick at the face. These caps are also brand new, never used, and have not even been formed to the jaws yet. The spare jaw insert is somewhat scarred on its' top surface but is certainly usable. This vise does display some hammer ... moremarks, but aside from this minor cosmetic issue works as new. For sale is a 3.5" jaw width Wilton mechanic's vise. If you look at the picture of the lead screw. You may be able to see that the screw is stuck at the top, so it can't be inserted into the vise. It still turns, and it may be able to be forced in, but I consider it non-functional. The vise is complete. 3.5" Wilton Bullet Bench Vise
You are bidding on a nice Wilton#835 bench vise. It has 3.5" jaws. Is approximately 14.5" long and weighs about 30lbs. give or take. This is a true clean survivor with the factory paint under the greenish colored varnish. You can even see what's left of the factory sticker which you rarely ever see. The vise opens and closes very nice. The handle is not bent, the vise has no cracks or previous weld repairs. It does have some MINOR scratches and gouges which is to be expected for a vise over 40 years old. It looks like the manufactured date is 6-69(see last pic) The only negative to the vise is that the dynamic jaw has been replaced at one time with one that obviously is not original. You can purchase new ones online. I will get this to you as soon as soon as is humanly possible. Here we have a very quality made top brand vtg WILTON machinist pipe vise in absolute gorgeous condition. Looks like T-Rex! This vise has many options/uses. The bottom base swivels in a perfect circle for any working condition or position you need. Also has a metal number plate for perfect angles and degrees. 0-90 degree. Also has a measuring unit on long weight pipe for perfect clamp width. Very neat and really none other like it. If you rotate the unit to where the bottom of T REX mouth is upward there is another type of clamp. Very cool. The teeth at bottom are screwed in and hold pipe up to 5 inches in diameter. l have looked at a bunch of vtg wilton vises and I haven't seen any other ones like this! It looks like a T-REX. Very nice piece. It has some minor surface rust on from sitting in a shop for a while. It affects absolutely ... morenothing! Very easily removable. Other than that this thing looks in stunning condition and very rarely used-never used. The teeth on the jaws have a tiny surface rust but the teeth look never used with full life left. It never has been bolted to a bench! You can see at the bottom of base were it would have been bolted. Very well preserved. Possibly never used. The big hunk of iron you're looking at is an absolutely stunning vise manufactured by Wilton in 1990. This is a 1750 combination swivel vise with 5" jaws and it weighs a hefty 46.5 pounds. You can see how large it is next to the full size BIC lighter. This is an extremely well made vise. Yes. This vise is painted with Snap On colors and the reason for that is Wilton manufactured these vises and sold them as their own Tradesman line but also licensed them to Snap On with no changes other than color. This vise could have been either sold as a Snap On or a Wilton. No original paint remained when I received it so it may have been either, there's no way to tell that I'm aware of. Even without knowing for certain ... moreI opted to go for the Snap On version with this restoration simply for a change of pace and, let's be honest, it looks great in red! I also didn't want to conceal the fantastic metal condition with hammered finish paint that Wilton uses. Enough about that. Let's get down to the nitty-gritty. There's a lot of brand new stuff here. I put on sets of new steel jaws plus new pipe jaws, each with brand new fasteners. The finger saver rubber washers are also new as are all the decals. I took this vise all the way down to bare metal with stripping gel and it's in absolutely wonderful condition inside and out. One of the nicest I've ever had in fact. WILTON 2.5" BABY BULLET VISE - COMPLETELY RESTORED
This 2.5" Baby Wilton has been completely disassembled and every part has been cleared of any rust/impurities by thorough bead blasting. Two coats of primer have been applied along with 2 coats of red paint and a coat of clear to give it that glossy wet look. This vise works as it should and all parts are original. There are no welds and/or repairs. Jaws are in excellent condition as shown by photos. The swivel tightener piece underneath the vise[see photo] appears to have been broken at some time. However, this does not affect swivel and/or tightening operations and is, of course, completely hidden from view. 2.5" Baby Wilton vises are very rare and this one bears a 1975 date which means it was either born in Chicago Illinois in 1975 or the 5 year warranty expired in 1975 which would mean that it was manufactured in 1970. Vintage Wilton Shop King Swivel Bench Vise 5" Jaws 30 Lbs. Made In Chicago USA
Full specs at the bottom of listing. What your eyes are gazing upon is a Wilton Shop King with 5" Jaws. These do not come up very often. I've had a lot of Shop Kings pass through my hands but this is the first 5" model I've ever seen in person. It's a nice, big hunk of a vise in that gorgeous art-deco styling. These are absolutely incredibly handsome vises in my opinion. The 5" version opens to a staggering seven inches. This one came to me in very good condition and clearly these are well made vises. It is missing a pipe jaw and, unfortunately, I don't have a spare that fits it. However, I think with just one jaw it should do an acceptable job of keeping a cylindrical object from moving around. The hardy is original. The only part I had to replace was a stripped out jaw screw, the replacement is in the front ... morejaw so you'll never see it. Thankfully this vise was well taken care of and had very few work scars. It has no structural damage. No repairs, welds or cracks. I did smooth out some of the metal just a tad which goes a long way in making it a better looking tool. I removed all the paint with gel stripper and cleaned all the steel hardware. The cast iron was warmed to 200 degrees and three coats of each color paint were applied. All of them were individually baked at the same temperature for 30 minutes. The finish should hold up as well as paint can for you. Every single piece on this vise was improved to as good as possible in way or another. It functions absolutely perfectly with zero issues. The action is really smooth all the way in and out. The jaws line up flush with even pressure across the board. The jaws are in pretty good condition too. You can see for yourself in the dozen large gallery photos that it looks very nice. Let's talk about the colors. The top color is Satin Granite enamel. That's a good name for a color; Granite! Vintage 1947 Chicago Wilton Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 2.5" Jaws Made In USA baby
Full specs at the bottom of listing. It would be difficult to find something from 1947 in better condition than this vise. This cute little guy is in amazing shape and all original too. Just look at the 12 large gallery pics for yourself. I really couldn't believe how nice it was when I started getting it cleaned up. Dream job for me really; small and easy. The only thing I had to mend was a shallow divot on the anvil space. It was filled and then sanded smooth so now that divot is gone. I did this only for cosmetic reasons. There's no structural damage, welds or repairs on this vise. Everything here is drop dead gorgeous. These are really, really small vises. Look at the photo of it sitting with a soda can and you'll get the idea. This is for precise work holding. Obviously this is a Chicago made vise before Wilton moved to Schiller ... morePark. I stripped it with gel. Cleaned up the hardware and then prepped the metal for paint. The metal gets warmed to 200 ° and then three coats of Satin Leaf enamel are sprayed on. I bake each coat for 30 minutes at 200 ° and in the end we get a nice looking. Tough paint job. The color is decently close to the mint-hospital-green paint Wilton used way back when. Then it all goes back together with some synthetic lubricant on the friction zones and, in the end, we have ourselves a nice little vise. I have nothing even remotely negative to mention here, zip. The action is unbelievable, feels like it's never been used. Jaw reaction is immediate and precise. The jaws look fantastic and they line up flush and square. Honestly, everything on this vise is amazing. If you're looking for one of the little Wilton bullets you can stop searching now because I'd be amazed if you ran across one nicer than this. This one here is a freak in how nice everything is. This is one package you'll love to get in the mail. I promise. Vintage Monster Chicago Wilton 9500 Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 5" Jaws Made In USA
Full specs at the bottom of listing. This old Wilton 9500 vise turned out great in my opinion. This is a big boy too. With 5" jaws and an overall large size. I had to make a special shipping container just for it. Check out the first photo of it next to a full size BIC lighter. There's no date stamp on this one. That lack of a date, combined with the old, grooved jaw style and the brand marking on the side, puts the manufacture birth somewhere in the 1942-44 range. You couldn't tell by looking at it though, this vise is still a baby. To find a vise this nice and clean from this era is highly unusual. It has zero structural damage, no welds, no repairs; nothing but an old bullet in great condition. There is some obvious wear on the slide and you can see this in the last gallery photo. That will have no affect on use and is purely ... morecosmetic. That's the only negative thing I have to say here. I was really happy to get this one all cleaned up and see how nice it was. I spared no effort in the restoration on this one. I bought new. Modern jaws for it. The original jaws will also be included and they're in decent condition themselves. It also received new rubber finger saver washers on the handle and a new, Five Year Guarantee" reproduction decal as well. Obviously the guarantee is long expired but it looks nice and the style is authentic to the vise. You can see for yourself in the dozen large gallery photos that this is simply a stunning vise and will be amazing on your workbench. I'll talk a bit about the restoration. It needed a bath first and foremost. That's honestly my least favorite part because it's a dirty job and always a lot of nasty old grease to get rid of. After it was scrubbed clean the vise was completely disassembled. Every single part. Then the whole thing was cleaned inside and out.
