RESTORED Wilton Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 4" Jaws 50 lbs.1971 Made in USA vice
This is the last vise you'll ever buy. Unless you want more than one of course. This old vise is a real beauty. Big and heavy too. That is no small tree stump it's resting on. It wasn't this pretty when I got it. It had sat in a garage for who knows how long. It had about a 1/8" of house paint and crud all over it. It was just begging to be brought back to life. I cleaned it up as much as I could with soap and water and then media blasted it down to bare metal along with some wire brushing. It was completely disassembled. Everything that is removable was removed. After some time in the solvent tank, clean and apart, I could give it a thorough inspection. I was happy to find that the metal is still in fantastic condition. No cracks, no welds and no repairs. That's what you want. You can see it all stripped down in the ... morelast photo. After every piece was completely cleaned and prepped I was able to begin the refinishing. I chose Italian Olive for the color and applied a baked on enamel finish. It should hold up very well. The vise is quite handsome in person. None of these photos capture the color well in my opinion, it's more attractive when you see it. You'll also be stunned at its size and weight the first time you handle it. All of the moving mechanisms and friction surfaces have been freshly lubed with blue, synthetic grease. This vise is ready for decades of hard work. The action is simply fantastic on it. Your eyebrows will lift the first time you screw it in and out. I promise. It's hard to believe how well vises were made back in the day after getting used to the junk sold today in big-box stores. This vise has smooth face jaws and they are in nice shape. You won't need to change them for a very long time. However, a couple of the jaw screws are kind of bunged up where the Phillips screwdriver goes in. WILTON 9300 3" BULLET BENCH VISE VICE MADE IN USA
Hi! For bid I have a very nice USA made Wilton bullet vise. This is my own personal vise that I bought used many years ago. It is dated 6-71. I don't do much work in my shop anymore. So I am selling some of the tools I no longer use. This is just the way the vise came off of my work bench. It is NOT restored in any way. It operates nice and smooth and the jaws close tight and square. The screw is in excellent condition as well as the rest of the vise. There are no breaks, cracks, or repairs of any kind on this vise. I do believe it still has the original paint, but I can't guarantee this as I don't know for sure. You will have to be the judge from the pictures. I could have cleaned and painted it to make it look better, but I would rather leave that option to the new owner. 1980 Wilton Swivel Bench Bullet Vise 3 1/2" Jaws 39 Lbs Made In USA vice
Full specs at the bottom of listing. THIS VISE HAS A MISSING JAW SUPPORT SHELF. More on this below. This is a 1980 Wilton 3 1/2" swivel bench vise. This isn't like 3 1/2" vises you've seen before. Most of the vises in this size are quite small. This one is anything but small. Definitely a good sized vise with plenty of holding power. In fact, both the seller and myself believed this to be a 4" vise. It wasn't until I measured the jaws that I realized it had 3.5" jaws. I mean, honestly, it's a 3 1/2" vise that weighs almost 40 pounds! These are among the most heavy duty 3 1/2" vises ever sold and this is from one of Wilton's best generations in my opinion. Great looks and great performance from a reasonable sized package. This is going to be a beauty on anybody's bench. Now let's talk ... morea little about the elephant in the room. The missing jaw shelf. Nothing is perfect, not even Wilton. If anything they're guilty of making too good a vise. The tolerance between the jaw and shelf is tighter than your typical vise. This can sometimes pose a problem and I've seen it more on Wiltons than on other vises. In my experience it seems to affect the rear jaw most of the time. Basically when a person uses too big a hammer and strikes downward too hard it can crack the support shelf beneath the jaw. Sometimes it chips just a corner and sometimes, as in this case, the entire shelf will break free. This will never happen if a vise isn't abused and hitting any vise hard with a heavy hammer is just asking for trouble. But this vise did have that happen and here we are. Let me tell you one thing though; this will never, ever cause any problems if this vise is used as intended, as a vise. If you don't whale into your work with a giant hammer you'll never know this support is missing. In addition to the two jaw bolts there's also a hard steel metal dowel sliding through the center of each jaw and into the body to further assist in support. I repeat; unless

Vintage Wilton Bullet Vise No. 9400 4" Jaw Machinist Vice
This is for the Wilton bullet vise pictured. I have added 12 pictures total with the last 4 showing the measurements. This shows age. Use, and wear. There is a lot of surface rust but everything functions properly and well. There is a weld repair on it and it can be seen in the 6th, 7th, and 8th pictures. Wilton Tradesman 1750 Swivel Combination Bench Vise 5" Jaws 43 Lbs. bullet vice
Full specs at the bottom of listing. I suggest you bolt this one down quick because this vise looks like it's ready to speed off. I've painted hundreds of vises and. To be perfectly honest, it can get a little boring so it's fun to mix things up. I decided that a nice set of racing stripes could be interesting and I think it looks pretty amazing actually. The gray color is Satin Granite Enamel and the stripe/base color is called Satin Pimento but it looks to me like orange with a little red in it. It's a very nice looking combination and is immediately striking in person. The paint is three coats, applied to warm cast iron and each application was baked on at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. I really like this method and I think you will too. The entire vise was disassembled. Stripped of old paint and cleaned inside and out. All ... moreof the steel hardware was cleaned as well. I put all new threaded fasteners on this vise; jaw screws, collar screws and swivel lock bolts. All of the female threads were chased with a tap and work smoothly. The jaws, as you can see, are in very nice condition and line up parallel and flush, just as they should. Everything was put back together with synthetic grease on the friction surfaces. No paint is on any friction surface by the way. To cap things off brand new Wilton foil decals and rubber finger savers were installed. I need to mention that this was a well used vise when I got it. I know it looks nice but please don't expect to receive a brand new vise and this one was obviously in service. Things like the handle is not 100% straight. But it's very close. You'll find little nicks from tools here and there, mostly on the anvil area and towards the top front of the round bare-metal slide. I don't mean to scare anybody off, this is a fine working tool with no deal-breaking issues at all, it's simply that this vise wasn't kept in a crib but used as intended. Wilton Tradesman 1740 Swivel Combination Bench Vise 4" Jaws 31 Lbs. bullet vice
Full specs at the bottom of listing. This 4" Wilton Tradesman is in superb condition. No doubt it has seen very little use. It had jaw covers on it when I brought it home and that explains why the steel jaw insert faces are as fantastic as they are. I love finding them like this. Makes my job easy. I have nothing negative to report here. The jaws line up flush and perfect, even clamping pressure across the board. To me that's the most important aspect of any vise because if it doesn't clamp well then it isn't much of a vise. As you most likely very well know I gave this vise a very thorough restoration as I do pretty much all the vises I put up for auction. You know the drill; strip the paint with gel. Quick media blast, inspection, warm the cast iron pieces in an oven, spray on three coats of each color, bake each coat at ... more200 degrees for 30 minutes, clean the steel hardware up and reassemble with synthetic lubricant. Boom! Done, just like that. This is a pro job, no corners were cut and it's going to last a very, very long time if treated properly. I do all the little things to help set my vises apart from others. The deeper you look into it the more impressed you'll with it you'll be. It's very nice and you have my word that you're going to love it. The gray is Satin Granite enamel. The green is Satin Leaf which is a match to the color Wilton used on their vises in the 1940's so we have a little throw-back there. You may have noticed the racing stripes. maybe not, but probably. These are painted on, not tape, but you knew that because you looked at the dozen large gallery photos. Brand new Wilton foil decals were applied on both sides. Media blasted inside& out, two coats of primer, and two coats of Rustoleum Hammered Light Blue. Bare metal such as the jaws, handle, and slide were polished and coated with paste wax. The inside of the vise was primered to prevent rust, as was the bottom of the base. Threads and swivel area have been greased well. It's ready to be bolted to your work bench and put to use! This vise was made in Czechoslovakia and is the vise design that Wilton started their business from back in the 40's. The company is still in business. You can check out their website at There are no repairs. Cracks, etc. There are a few dents& dings as you can see in the pictures from typical ... moreuse. Handle is straight but has a few little gnaw marks on it. I could have smoothed some of the rough spots in the casting out but I like to leave everything as original as possible. Note that because this is a foreign made vise, everything is metric thread. It's all original except I got some nice new shiny nuts for the lock-downs, I still have the original ones and I will ship them with the vise. I really hate to sell this vise but I'm trying to thin down my personal collection. I'll be listing a few more vises in the coming weeks so be sure to check them out. If you want to purchase more than one I can try to combine shipping but it will probably end up being freight. I find that shipping via Fastenal is the cheapest. Albeit you have to drop off/ pick up from the nearest Fastenal store. To ship this I am planning on bolting it to a piece of plywood and boxing it up good and shipping via UPS. Wilton No.4 Bullet Vice Made August 1946 with Swivel 4 hole base with anvil
Great vice. I bought this at a yard sale. The jaws are not lose. I have not disassembled this and there is no cracks in the outside of the casting. The round end part of the vice moves about 1/16 of an inch. The code on the bottom of the track reads 8-46 and from my online research that means it was made august 1946. No returns accepted if not satisfied. What you see is what you get.

Wilton Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 5" Jaws 93 Lbs 1985 Made In USA 500S 500 vice
Full specs& indoor lighting photo at the bottom of listing. My arms are sore. They ache from working on this comically over-sized bench vise. It's a 93 pound cast iron goliath. Everything about it seems out of scale for a person's size perception of Wilton bench vises. I think most people have probably seen a 4" bullet. Maybe a 4 1/2" version and let me tell you, those vises are big but they're not even in the same league as this one. The five and six inch Wiltons are in a size class of their own. All I can try to hammer down is that the photos won't prepare you for the real thing. It's BIG, BIG, BIG! It's nearly two feet long. I hope you have a good size bench to mount this because you're gonna need it. At 1985. To me, this Wilton is still a baby and is just getting started out in life. It's ... moresafe to say this vise is going to outlast us. and several generations of our heirs. Don't be surprised if your kids start being extra nice to you. This vise is fresh, clean and eager for activity, its youth is showing. Once you're able to digest its massiveness you'll find this to be an incredibly pleasant vise to live with day to day. Like any high-end Wilton this vise is very happy to open& close, swivel and clamp down on things as hard as you like. They just love to work hard and ask for more. This particular vise belonged to an older fella who had retired sometime in the 90's. He just stopped using it and it sat, that explains the condition. Vise finishes don't look nice forever so this one needed a little cosmetic TLC before passing it on to its new family. Other than the heavy lifting this vise wasn't difficult at all to make nice again, it's always better to have a clean starting point. The only negative to mention is that the handle isn't 100% straight. It's not bad and won't cause you any problems but because it's not arrow-straight I need to mention it.
