Extra Large USA Wilton 5" Shop King Anvil Vise w/Swivel Locking Base & Pipe Jaws
Hello. This listing is for a good working larger model Wilton Shop King Vise. Made in USA.Chicago,Illinois. Swivel locking base(works good) Sliding Pipe Jaws-Anvil Top-5" Jaw Length-Opens about 6-3/4" before coming apart. Height: about 7" Length: about 13" Anvil(only flat surface) about 2-1/2" at wide end. Big handle slides smoothly even with bow to it. Little lock handle is a little bent& dinged up though it also moves freely. Picture#8 shows how the jaws align when closed.It's not exact but doesn't affect how the vise works. Over all a good working multi purpose vise! Thanks for reading.Good luck.

RESTORED: Vintage 1950's Wilton Shop King Bench Swivel Vise 4" Jaws Made In USA
I have no idea why they don't put effort into design these days like they used to. Just look how cool this thing is. It has such great character. I'm glad I found it because it was destined to be scrapped. I just couldn't let that happen. The vise was absolutely filthy when I got it, covered in pretty much everything you can imagine. This Shop King needed help. Wilton made Shop King vises for a brief period in the early 1950's right before moving from Chicago to Schiller Park IL. They didn't make them long and the line was discontinued after the move. This is a 4" model. No. 14. It's very large for a 4" vise, one of the biggest four inch vises I've seen. Wilton wasn't messing around. But it's the unique look that get people going over these old Kings, the classic 50's school of design. It ... moreswivels about 200 ° and opens to four inches. Maybe a little farther if you need the extra bit. This one was quite an undertaking to bring back into service. The first thing I did was give it a good bath. It was filthy and I got filthy cleaning it. After a couple hours of cleaning and degreasing it was to a point where the restoration could begin. There isn't much nice to say about the little remaining paint and it obviously needed to be stripped to bare metal. After I got it stripped down I was relieved to see a pretty solid vise that could end up nice. I looked it over and there is a crack. It's small and on the underside of the dynamic jaw. There's a photo at the end of the listing text so you can see it. The crack has been there a long time and thankfully it's small. I don't see anything wrong with having this crack. Everything remains completely solid in my inspection so I don't, at all, expect this to cause any issues down the road. Of course if you abuse the vise then all bets are off. VTG.WILTON SHOP KING VISE HEAVY DUTY PIPE JAWS ANVIL SWIVEL BASE
Let this bad boy handle your big jobs. He works as good as he looks! Big 5" wide jaws open up to 7" Weighing over 29 lbs, it has three bolt holes, pipe jaws, swivel base and anvil. 13" long and 6-3/4" high. Everything about it works great, has a new paint job, ready to go to work. Embossed 8-635L and 9-635L on one side at the jaws and NM on the other. Under the base is stamped 121052 over 4 and SF Color variances due to use of flash or natural light. Only'flaw' is the release handle for swivel is slightly bent but it works just fine. Vintage Wilton Shop King Swivel Bench Vise 4" Jaws 25 Lbs. Made In Chicago USA
Full specs at the bottom of listing. Art Deco and vises go together like ice cream and pie. The Shop Kings are absolutely stunning vises and it's a shame this great sense of style in manufacturing was lost somewhere along the way. Shop Kings were first sold by Wilton in 1951 and production didn't continue but for a few years before they changed to a different model. That was a real loss in my opinion as I consider them to have some of the most handsomely designed lines for any vise ever sold. Their striking appearance just can't be denied. This 4" Wilton Shop King is in remarkable condition. All of the edges are crisp. It has very few signs of usage and is in overall excellent condition. Clearly it was either extremely well cared for or it hasn't seen a lot of work. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The action ... moreis outstanding and the jaws(Which are in wonderful condition. close up squarely and snugly. Both pipe jaws are included as is the hardy. The hardy isn't original however. It was fabricated from a steel bolt and two nuts welded in place and then shaped, that's why you see signs of a thread pattern on the chisel faces. So while it isn't perfect in appearance it will still make a fine hardy. Ultimately, most of these are missing and it's better than nothing, right? This vise was completely refurbished by myself. A complete cosmetic overhaul. The old paint was removed entirely with gel stripper. A bare metal, thorough inspection revealed no hidden damage or repairs. The cast iron pieces to be painted were warmed to 200 ° and three coats of each color enamel were sprayed. Each paint application was cured at 200 ° for 30 minutes each. There is no paint on any friction surface. The colors are Satin Leaf on Cobalt Blue Metallic. All hardware was cleaned and made to function as new. Vintage Wilton Shop King Swivel Bench Vise 5" Jaws 30 Lbs. Made In Chicago USA
Full specs at the bottom of listing. What your eyes are gazing upon is a Wilton Shop King with 5" Jaws. These do not come up very often. I've had a lot of Shop Kings pass through my hands but this is the first 5" model I've ever seen in person. It's a nice, big hunk of a vise in that gorgeous art-deco styling. These are absolutely incredibly handsome vises in my opinion. The 5" version opens to a staggering seven inches. This one came to me in very good condition and clearly these are well made vises. It is missing a pipe jaw and, unfortunately, I don't have a spare that fits it. However, I think with just one jaw it should do an acceptable job of keeping a cylindrical object from moving around. The hardy is original. The only part I had to replace was a stripped out jaw screw, the replacement is in the front ... morejaw so you'll never see it. Thankfully this vise was well taken care of and had very few work scars. It has no structural damage. No repairs, welds or cracks. I did smooth out some of the metal just a tad which goes a long way in making it a better looking tool. I removed all the paint with gel stripper and cleaned all the steel hardware. The cast iron was warmed to 200 degrees and three coats of each color paint were applied. All of them were individually baked at the same temperature for 30 minutes. The finish should hold up as well as paint can for you. Every single piece on this vise was improved to as good as possible in way or another. It functions absolutely perfectly with zero issues. The action is really smooth all the way in and out. The jaws line up flush with even pressure across the board. The jaws are in pretty good condition too. You can see for yourself in the dozen large gallery photos that it looks very nice. Let's talk about the colors. The top color is Satin Granite enamel. That's a good name for a color; Granite! Full specs at the bottom of listing. This is as good as it gets. If you follow my vise auctions at all then you may know I'm always on the lookout for good quality Shop King vises and. In particular, the hard-to-come-by 5" jaw versions. I've had more than my fair share, I won't pretend I haven't. So it's with sizable Shop King experience that I say this is easily the nicest one I've ever come across and that's really saying something too because I've brought home some beautiful examples over the years. Just look at the dozen large gallery photos. How many times do you think this vise was used? A dozen maybe? For as old as these are, early 1950's, this one is amazing to me. After a refresh it looked even better. The original red paint was in nice condition but it had some other color paint spills on ... moreit plus things just get old looking over time so I wanted to spruce this up. The thick red paint was stripped with multiple applications of aviation gel then I gave it a quick media blast and rinse. It looked really nice naked and I halfway entertained the idea of selling this one with just bare cast iron and a clear coat. That would have worked here to show off the pristine metal condition. But. As I'm sure you're well aware, I enjoy painting things and I chose a nice color combo for this one, a little more reserved for me than usual. The top portion is Flat Aluminum enamel and the bottom is Hammered Verde Green which is a match to Wilton's current finish on their bullets. That's a good connection to Wilton vises of today. Before painting I warm the pieces to 200 ° and then spray on three coats of each color. Every application of paint is baked in the oven at 200 ° for 30 minutes. This makes for a great finish. All of the steel hardware is cleaned to work and look as new as it can possibly be. Any over-spray on friction surfaces was removed and a light coating of synthetic lubricant applied to the main screw. I go very light on exposed screw spindle lu

Wilton Shop King 14 Vice. anvil and 3 hole swivel base
Great vice. It has no jaws and 3 of the holes for that are 1/4" coarse thread and one is 5/16" coarse thread. It is bare metal and turns good.
