Vintage Wilton Bullet 4 1/2" C1 Vise This vintage Wilton vise has obvious. Expected wear but still in good condition. On the sides it states"Wilton C1 Chicago. U.S.A. Very heavy duty. This is a vintage WILTON bullet machinist bench vise. Believe it is a No. 5 model. It has 2 1/2" jaws and opens to 3 1/2" Has the swivel base with double locks. This vise is in nice shape. Retains a good deal of the original paint and the jaws are in super conditon. Does show use, but has been kept in nice condition. Comes with a set of brass jaw caps. Wilton bullet vises are about the best bench vise you will find. They are the smoothest operating vises and this one is as smooth as it gets. No play. Vintage Wilton #350 3 1/2" Swivel Bullet Vise
Up for bid is a nice vintage Wilton Swivel Bullet vise#350. The vise is in original condition and works beautifully. The date of manufacture is 8/76 as shown on the slide. The paint is original. The vise was purchased new by a wholesale hardware company and I purchased it from them in a liquidation sale in 1981 and it has been on my bench since then. The lettering on the side of the vise reads"Made in USA. Schiller Park, ILL 60178" Please note that the original decal is in place and intact. The vise is in excellent working condition and has the normal amount of nicks, scratches, etc. The teeth are in very good condition. The vise weighs 39 pounds and I will ship it in a custom made OSB(oriented strand board) box(approximately 10 additional pounds) with the vise bolted down to the bottom. Vintage / Antique Wilton 21 inch? Bullet Bench Vise Without Swivel Base
Up for auction is an estate fresh find. this is a large old Wilton bullet vice. closed it measures approximately 21 inches. My scale only goes to 50 pounds and is incapable of weighing it but it is quite heavy. it is very old and shows the standard wear and tear of an old well used tool. It does appear to have a broken pin however as I cannot open the vice at all to measure the total jaw length. a little oil& a little work and probably a simple fix for somebody who knows what they're doing. sold as is. potentially a great item for any shop or garage or a great item for a themed restaurant or other such venue. if you have any questions please feel free to ask. For Absolute Auction Here is a super cool Wilton Bullet Vise. Original? red color. Jaws are 3 1/2" wide. Opens to about 6 1/2" when fully extended. Measures about 14 1/2" from bullet tip to crank when closed. Weighed in at about 30 lbs. This is a fixed. Not swivel, base. Measures 6" in diameter. The side with the crank is stamped with the number 835. While the"bullet" side of the vise has what appears to be the number 935. Not sure how the numbering works on these. SEE PICS of the jaws- these could stand to be reworked. I took it apart and cleaned some grime that has collected over the decades. But did not use harsh chemicals. For this reason, it will arrive oily and in need of some cleaning. Opens and closes smoothly; the internal turn screw is nice and shiny with not stripping. Vintage Wilton Vice. Marked Wilton Vice No 3, Chicago USA. 3" wide jaws, opens to 4 1/4" safely, maybe a little more. Marked 12-46 on bottom of square key. Front jaw is real nice, rear jaw is OK, swivel base. It does have a two chips out of cast iron directly under the rear jaw, see pencil pointing at chips, both sides are the same, same size chip and everything. Doesn't hurt the function, but they are there. The vice was cleaned and painted hammered finish green, the vice opens and closes super nice, swivels real nice, and jaws line up good. A really nice vice, even though there are a few chips missing, don't sell it short.

Vintage YORK WILTON Type Machinist Bullet Vise Swivel Base 3" Jaws
Up for auction is a rare York Wilton Bullet type vise. The vise is marked York on one side and has a patent 685893 on the other with some wording which I can not make out but some of the letter I believe are zakchem anemo but not sure(see pictures) The vise head is a approx. 3 inches wide and opens up to 3 inches. The vise does have some scrapes and some rust spots to it but is in solid working condition. It can be restored to new condition or left the way it was found. The garage gazette has some interesting comments. Where one person wrote" This bench vices started to produce in Czech republic and patent is from 1934( Mr. Dohnal) According to some people they think York was the company that actually came up with the bullet vise and that Wilton might have copied them. vintage wilton 400 swivel bullet vise hardly used wow except 1'' crack
I have for auction this vintage Willton model 400 bullet vise. It is in hardly used condition. the jaws show very minimal wear. the entire vise has very little paint loss. The vise has two labels on it that would usually wear off in no time when in use. The anvil platform has only a few dents and dings. The bad issue is there is a crack about 1 1/16' long and the side of the main frame barrel. see pictures 7& 8) Thats the issue. otherwise it would be a great vintage wilton vise. Now it is still a user tool. There is no wobble in the jaws because of the crack. It is a great vise for parts. the swivel base is nice the jaws. The handle and the tightening nuts. Vintage Wilton Cadet 9140 Swivel Bullet Bench Vise 4" Jaws 1956 machinist
Antique Wilton Cadet model 9140 bullet vise. The manufacture date on the drift key is 11-30-56. The vise jaws are 4" wide and open to approximately 5 1/2" The vise is in good operational condition. But at one time someone must have beat on something so hard that it broke off part of the base under the jaw on the fixed side and roughed up the top behind the jaw(see photos) When I got it the fixed jaw was missing. I made a replacement jaw out of mild steel and it works fine. I had to re-tap the screw threads so the screws are different sizes on the 2 jaws. The missing part of the jaw base does not affect clamping strength. It would only be a factor if you wanted to clamp a part in it and beat it with a sledge hammer. The screw is in good shape and turns very smoothly. This would be great candidate for restoration or it will function ... moregreat for years to come just as it is. The fixed jaw base could be built back up with weld or simply left alone. Overall a very good vise and would be beautiful restored. Note: Shipping is to lower 48 states only. The base plate and screw may be dissasembled so that it will fit into a flat rate box.

Thats a pretty general statement. But it's also the reality of our sad Walmart priced/disposable society. Except for a scant few like Yost, the vises being manufacturer today are 99% Chinese made. Pot metal junk) Even the once mighty Wilton has ruined their reputation with Chinese sourced pot metal vises sold at Lowes. Its NOT a Wilton- at least not the ones you remember. I have pics of"new" Wiltons broken in half after a few uses. Even their pro line is nowhere ... moreclose to ones made in the 70's back. A quick google search will uncover DOZENS of"new" Wilton bullet vises with mounting feet broken off. The quality of the metal isn't there any more. As a mechanic my world revolves around impact wrenches and bench vises- This is a beautiful little vise. Jaws are 3" opens to 5" and it has both a swivel base and anvil back. It was found in a workshop that had been closed since the late 70's. It looks like it never saw much use. Add a new coat of paint or put it to work as is. I haven't cleaned or painted the vise- sweat equity" keeps the prices low. The jaws are nice and tight and in excellent shape. Almost perfect faces on each with no serious scars or damage. This would be a great vise for the bench downstairs or out in the garage. HUGE vises are great too. But NOT FOR EVERY JOB. Large vises 5" jaws and larger are actually cumbersome to use on small items. NOTE.Im pretty leniant with grading on used vises. Folks. Vintage 1946 Chicago Wilton Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 3 1/2" Jaws Made In USA
This is a very old Wilton Bullet Vise manufactured when the company was still in Chicago. Before moving to Schiller Park, IL in 1955. This particular vise was made in July of 1946. For being as old as it is this vise is in fantastic condition. I had it stripped down to bare metal and I saw no damage anywhere. A lot of these really old bullets show signs of heavy use but this one was obviously well cared for. The swivel lock-down cap nuts are original to this vintage, before they used the sliding handle clamping nuts. One steel jaw insert has been replaced and the other is original. I honestly have no idea why but the original jaw insert is still in decent condition. They line up well with parallel surfaces and clamping force is excellent. Brand new rubber finger-saver washers were installed on the handle. After stripping it down and surface ... moreprep I applied 3 coats of Hammered Finish Verde Green enamel. Each was baked on at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. This is the best system I've come up with for providing a durable finish. The color is very close to the famous Wilton color, it looks blue in the photos but it's more green in person. For some reason this paint always photographs heavy on the blue. NOTE: Admittedly the photos aren't very good. The vise looks better in person than what's showing here. I had about a ten minute break in Seattle's rain today to take them so I was rushed. If and when we get a pause in the precipitation I'll take some better photos and post them down at the bottom, below the auction text. I applied synthetic lubricant on the friction surfaces; Main screw threads. Horse-shoe retaining collar and slide key-way. It's ready to be bolted down and put to work. This vise functions great and will provide many decades of use if treated properly. By that I mean vises aren't intended to have cheater bars put on the handles or bashed with heavy sledge hammers. Vintage 3" WILTON BULLET Bench Mount Machinist Vise Swivel Base READ DESCRIPTION
Vintage Wilton Bullet. Date stamp reads 1/79. Jaws measure 3" wide, opens 5 1/2" weighs just over 25lbs. VICE HAS A CRACK. You will see in pics, actually cracked on both sides at base of vise. One side has a piece broken off. You will see this in pics. Despite the cracks, vise appears to be in very good condition, everything working as expected. Handle turns smoothly, jaws show little wear. Cap on back does have a dent. Nice looking vise& it's a Wilton! If you can weld, you can probably have your self a great working vise. This can go for parts or repair, you can use as is but I don't know how well it will hold up.

Vintage Wilton 804 "bullet type" Swivel Vise, 4" Jaws
For sale is a rare vintage Wilton Industrial Vise model 804. Made in 1941, at the original Chicago location. This is a swivel vise in working condition and good surviving condition. It's jaws are 4" wide and open up to about 6" I am selling it"as-is" and it could use some new grease and a good cleaning/ restoration. Vogl stood on a Chicago street corner in 1941 surveying the area when a man walked up and asked him what is the name of his new company. Wrightwood Avenue and the corner of Wilton Avenue, just around the corner from Wrigley Field. You just can’t get much more American than that. Wilton Vise was founded in 1941. Hugh Vogl’s son, Alex, also played a major role in the Company from the beginning. With little or no help from the current owners of Wilton(Walter Meier Corporation) I will write here what I have found researching the original Wilton Vise Company. VINTAGE WILTON BULLET VISE 3 1/2" JAWS *SWIVELS & OPENS SMOOTHLY*
Up for your consideration is a VINTAGE WILTON VISE. It is in good conditon. There is the number 935 marked on it but I am not sure if that is a part number or the model number. It swivels and opens smoothly. The jaws are 3 1/2" wide and they open to about 6 1/4" The vise has been used much and has sustained some damage. There is a large part that has been broken off on the top part of the jaw area(see pics) and there is also a large peice broken off on the underside of the sam jaw. Neither seem like they will effect the use.Of course you be the judge of that. There is a hex screw missing in the jaw but I am not sure if has been broken off or is just missing. Vintage 1947 Chicago Wilton Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 2.5" Jaws Made In USA baby
Full specs at the bottom of listing. It would be difficult to find something from 1947 in better condition than this vise. This cute little guy is in amazing shape and all original too. Just look at the 12 large gallery pics for yourself. I really couldn't believe how nice it was when I started getting it cleaned up. Dream job for me really; small and easy. The only thing I had to mend was a shallow divot on the anvil space. It was filled and then sanded smooth so now that divot is gone. I did this only for cosmetic reasons. There's no structural damage, welds or repairs on this vise. Everything here is drop dead gorgeous. These are really, really small vises. Look at the photo of it sitting with a soda can and you'll get the idea. This is for precise work holding. Obviously this is a Chicago made vise before Wilton moved to Schiller ... morePark. I stripped it with gel. Cleaned up the hardware and then prepped the metal for paint. The metal gets warmed to 200 ° and then three coats of Satin Leaf enamel are sprayed on. I bake each coat for 30 minutes at 200 ° and in the end we get a nice looking. Tough paint job. The color is decently close to the mint-hospital-green paint Wilton used way back when. Then it all goes back together with some synthetic lubricant on the friction zones and, in the end, we have ourselves a nice little vise. I have nothing even remotely negative to mention here, zip. The action is unbelievable, feels like it's never been used. Jaw reaction is immediate and precise. The jaws look fantastic and they line up flush and square. Honestly, everything on this vise is amazing. If you're looking for one of the little Wilton bullets you can stop searching now because I'd be amazed if you ran across one nicer than this. This one here is a freak in how nice everything is. This is one package you'll love to get in the mail. I promise. Vintage Monster Chicago Wilton 9500 Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 5" Jaws Made In USA
Full specs at the bottom of listing. This old Wilton 9500 vise turned out great in my opinion. This is a big boy too. With 5" jaws and an overall large size. I had to make a special shipping container just for it. Check out the first photo of it next to a full size BIC lighter. There's no date stamp on this one. That lack of a date, combined with the old, grooved jaw style and the brand marking on the side, puts the manufacture birth somewhere in the 1942-44 range. You couldn't tell by looking at it though, this vise is still a baby. To find a vise this nice and clean from this era is highly unusual. It has zero structural damage, no welds, no repairs; nothing but an old bullet in great condition. There is some obvious wear on the slide and you can see this in the last gallery photo. That will have no affect on use and is purely ... morecosmetic. That's the only negative thing I have to say here. I was really happy to get this one all cleaned up and see how nice it was. I spared no effort in the restoration on this one. I bought new. Modern jaws for it. The original jaws will also be included and they're in decent condition themselves. It also received new rubber finger saver washers on the handle and a new, Five Year Guarantee" reproduction decal as well. Obviously the guarantee is long expired but it looks nice and the style is authentic to the vise. You can see for yourself in the dozen large gallery photos that this is simply a stunning vise and will be amazing on your workbench. I'll talk a bit about the restoration. It needed a bath first and foremost. That's honestly my least favorite part because it's a dirty job and always a lot of nasty old grease to get rid of. After it was scrubbed clean the vise was completely disassembled. Every single part. Then the whole thing was cleaned inside and out. Up for bid in this auction is a vintage WILTON No. 3 Bullet Vise. This vise comes with a Swivel Base. And 3" wide jaws. It is stamped with an 11-45 Date Code(November 1945) There are no cracks, welds or repairs on the vise, with much of the original paint still intact. This vise in in very good condition for its age. This is great vise that has been used only one time for pass 23 years. Since we set up our machine shop. This vise was been used for holding one inspection tooling plate. Never been removed 23 years. Vintage Wilton Chicago Baby Bullet Bench Vise 2 inch jaws swivel base
This"baby Wilton" is in perfect working condition. She has been oiled and every moving part turns freely. She has the usual nicks. Scrapes, paint and rust that tools of this age have. Even a few sets of initails have been scratcched out thru the years. But even with these flaws I could not think of giving her a facelift. Vintage Wilton No.930 bullet vise 3" jaws. Chicago, USA Very nice vintage. Made in the USA, Wilton bullet vise. Model No.930 with 3" wide jaws and approx. 4 1/2" usable opening. Jaws and screw show minimal wear or abuse. Jaws line up square and true. 4-46 date stamp says the vise is doing well for being 68 years old. Disassembled cleaned, coat of paint and new moly grease applied to parts. The vise has normal for age nicks and dings. Vice operates smoothly through entire range of motion.
