This unit seems to work but I am only able to test it to 50 MHz as that is my highest frequency signal source so I can't guarantee it to be working elsewhere. The manual says it will work from either the AC/DC Adapter(which is part of this sale and shown in the photos) or internal rechargeable C-sized batteries but these are not included(none installed in internal battery holder) It is easy to find the manual online just google it. VINTAGE HP FREQUENCY COUNTER MODEL 5233L
Up for Sale is a Vintage 1970's HP(Hewlett Packard) Model 5233L Frequency Counter. I was able to measure the frequency of a power transformer at 60 Hz. No other testing was performed. I will sell this Frequency Counter for Parts or Repair. But based on this simple test we performed, I believe it to be functional as a frequency counter. The Nixie tubes are probably worth the starting price not to count the various PC Boards inside. The Cooling Fan is operational as well. The only flaw I noticed, is that someone has soldered the power cord wires to the push on power connector. Please review Photos. The next to last photo was of the counter reading a low voltage 60 Hz AC source. The last photo is with the top cover removed.
