This is a working Global Specialties frequency counter that was bought a long time ago as new and was hardly used. It can measure frequencies from 5 Hz to 500 MHz in two ranges. The first range goes from 5 Hz to 100 MHz and has an input impedance of 1 Mohm. The second range goes from 30 to 500 MHz with an input impedance of 50 ohms. The time base is selectable between 1 sec and 0.1 sec. The unit was tested at various frequencies up to 247 MHz(the upper limit of my signal generator) Included is a 9 V 500 mA AC-DC adapter. Its Period function enables you measure the interval between events and to accurately measure very low frequencies(the reciprocal of the period) You can also use it to count events using its Totalize mode. The 1911A's specified upper frequency range is 250 MHz, but I found it would measure reliably to over 315 MHz at Fluke's specified input sensitivity of 25 mV. The counter is shown in the first photo measuring the 250 MHz output of my HP 8656B signal generator. I tested it out, as you can see in the pictures, with a freshly calibrated function generator and it matched up perfectly, so it is still accurate. I could only measure up to 10 MHz with my function generator. But it appears to be very accurate all the way up to that point. This auction is for the CFC250 unit and power cord only. Clean, and accurate Heathkit IM-4120 frequency counter, period meter and event counter for your bench or"shack" The Heathkit IM-4120 is perhaps the most versatile counter/timer ever offered by the Heath Company. Its Temperature Controlled Crystal Oscillator(TCXO- lower right in 5th photo) gives it accuracy that is right on par with the most expensive equipment that was available at the time. And its several functions were enough to set it above most of the rest. The IM-4120 measures frequency to eight digits with two inputs- a 1 megohm high impedance input that's useful to above 50 MHz and a 50 ohm low impedance input that spans the frequency range from 40 MHz to 250 MHz. Its Period and Period Average functions enable you to accurately measure very low frequencies(the reciprocal of the period) You can also use it to count events up to 9999999 using its Totalize mode. This unit is also equipped with Option 01, battery operation, for use away from a fixed power source. The battery pack consists of four 1.2 V rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries that are easily replaced.
